American Freight: Appliance, Furniture, Mattress

American Freight has a ton of furniture and appliances. Super affordable prices. The employees are pretty helpful and can answer any question about what hey have in store. For a crew of women sales associates they know their stuff. Delivery is 69.99 with in 25 miles of the store. They don't charge extra for having to go up stairs but they do charge an extra $15 to install appliances upon delivery. They have same day delivery if you come in before 2pm and make a purchase. The store is relatively clean and tidy but dust settles all the time so whatever. They can sell some floor models of the furniture but it does take 8 weeks to order furniture if it's not in stock. The employees made sure I understood their new in house financing and shop your way credit card payment options. I was pretty skeptic about it at first but then they reassured me that I wouldn't be trapped paying a specific amount on a specific date. The payments are low anyways and all on line or over the phone or in the app. I'd honestly recommend shopping at this location.

Immanuel and the new trainee did a great job! Very informative and allowed me time to look at their products. Answered all questions that I had. They had a wide selection of what I was looking for and helped narrowed it down. Great customer service and value! Will be coming back.

I went to American Freight at their location in Rancho Cordova in search of a new refrigerator. Marcos greeted me and my daughter to see what type of refrigerator I was looking for and showed me a few ones. I settled on a refrigerator at a cost of $1200; he told me about the extended warranty at a cost of $599.99 for 5 years (this was beyond my budget, and I did not purchase). I explained to him that I already had appliance insurance, and this would be covered under my home warrant plan. He tried to tell me that they would come out 2 times/year; and no cost for parts or service.

I inquired about delivery and was told i could do one of two things, pick it up myself they could deliver thru a third party at a cost of $150.00. I was also told if I returned my old refrigerator, American Freight would charge me $20 to dispose. On the date of the pickup, I dropped off my old refrigerator and was told by another sales associate, Ashkan to dispose of my old refrigerator would cost $35. I told him the price Marco told me was $20; while I was standing there, Carlos contacted Marco and I heard Marco say that he provided me an incorrect disposal price and the price was $35. I told Ashkan that is not my problem and I am only going to pay the $20.

Initially, both Marco and Ashkan wanted to make sure I scanned the barcode to leave a review of the service they both provided. They were not as eager for me to leave a review after the situation regarding the price to dispose of my old refrigerator. Marco did not greet me or acknowledge me during anytime while I was in the store and to think I made sure he received commission on the sale even though he was not at work when I came back to make the final purchase.

I will never make another purchase from American Freight again.

My dryer broke and I needed a new one fast! American freight was the only place around that had a gas dryer ready for pick up the same day. The employees were super helpful and friendly. The dryer was marked imperfect but only had a few scratches on it. You couldn't pass it up for the price!

I bought my refrigerator from American Freight in Rancho Cordova and this was the worst mistake ever. I went to the store to take a look at a Kitchenaid Refrigerator and although there were a few scratches it was pretty decent to be a refurbished item. On the day of delivery the delivery team came out and said that the refrigerator would not fit through my front door so they would have to leave the item in my garage. I had to hire someone to come put the fridge in my house which cost me more money. I paid for delivery and setup through American Freight and when I called and told them that their delivery team did not setup the refrigerator I was told that I have to take that up with the delivery company. Before purchasing the fridge I measured the space in my kitchen according to the measurements that were listed online (which would have fit perfectly if the measurements were correct). After my handy man brought the fridge in my home it did not fit the space. After doing an inspection he noticed that the hinges in the inside of the door were bent upward causing the doors to be higher than they were supposed to be. I immediately called AF I spoke with the manager who told me that they don't accept returns. He also blamed the bent hinges on their delivery team saying that it must've happen during transport. So now I was stuck with a fridge that didn't fit in my house because AF advertise false information about the item. In the end I had to go online to find parts for the fridge and replace both hinges in order for it to fit in my kitchen. (which cost me money) AF has the WORST customer service ever. Their products are defective and the people who work for them are pieces of shit. Do yourself a favor and just purchase your appliances brand new. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE.

Before coming to the store, I called to confirm that they had a white dishwasher and a white glass range. They said they did so I came in about an hour later to purchase. Immanuel, the store manager, helped me with the purchase. He said the dishwasher was not available in the Rancho Cordova store and it would be picked up from the Sacramento store for delivery. I was ok with that and we confirmed delivery for a Wednesday. I booked the plumber to come for installation the same day, because American Freight does not install dishwashers. I told him I would not be home during delivery, my mother would be there. I called an hour before delivery on Wednesday to confirm everything was ok and Immanuel said it was all good. When I came home later that night, I had a white range and a BLACK dishwasher installed. My mother didn't know what I ordered, but I didn't think I had to inform her to make sure the appliances are white! I called the store and they said they don't have a white dishwasher available and they will call me back tomorrow. The following day comes, nobody calls me. I reached out to them around 1:30pm to see what's going on. I spoke with Craig, he apologized and said Immanuel went to the Sacramento store to follow up on my order and would reach out to me later. Immanuel did call later that evening and said they do have white dishwasher and he will come deliver it personally. The black dishwasher was already installed, so I had to pay the plumber TWICE for installation. They didn't offer any type of rebate or discount towards another purchase. Immanuel just stood there with a stupid smirk on his face, couldn't care less. Also, I'm not 100% sure the white dishwasher they gave me is new. The hose and clamp on it looked very old. I will never go to this place ever again.

Love the company, amazing prices and amazing deals. The team is very professional and knows what they are talking about! They have financing options plus items are protected for 5yrs!!!

This felt like a scam. This place is down the street and was recommended by family who told us they were affordable. When our washer suddenly broke, I went in on a lunch break to see if we could finance something and have it delivered 2 blocks away in the next few days. They had a small selection but definitely had some lower priced appliances. After selecting a washer and dryer set (dryer is on its last leg too) that I wanted to purchase, the associate who helped me couldn't find any in the back. She called another store, and they said they had it but had to check with the manager to make sure they could transfer it and it might be a half an hour. They finally figured out how to transfer it anyway so I didn't have to wait. Then it was time to run the financing. I have decent credit and income and was confident we could pay it off in a 12 month time frame. They advertise a 0% if paid in 12 months or $50 down payment. So I went through the process, it was fairly easy and the company I worked with was pleasant. The sales person rang everything up and 1600 went to $2300 with delivery and installation and a warranty, but still I was thinking okay, I can swing that, but this definitely isn't cheaper than anything else I've seen. I was starting to feel nervous since up to this point I hadn't seen anything in writing including an itemized receipt. I got approved and they told me I had a $50 down payment, okay, fine totally doable. She starts to apply the charge and it's time for me to sign. That's when the saw that they were going to charge 169% APR. When I asked about it the sales associate told me it would be outlined on the next page of the DocuSign agreement, but I had to sign to get to the next page. I started feeling really uncomfortable and I asked why it wouldn't be 0% the manager said that it was all in the fine print (it was not) and if we pay the whole thing off in three months we probably wouldn't have to pay that. I asked if that was a typo and they said no and since I didn't qualify for the 0%, that was the APR. They were also going to automatically charge 150 biweekly for 52 payments. So without even a discussion I was now going to be paying almost $7200 for the 1600 washer and dryer set. The manager said that if I paid it off in 3 months, we wouldn't get charged that APR. I asked if that was in writing somewhere and am still doing the math and weighing the sunk cost so far to see if we could pay the 2300 off in three months. They said no, it's just something they know at the store and rent a center has 400% APR so this is not even that bad. I said there's no way I'd agree to this and walked out without signing.
I got an email saying that I was charged the $50 down payment 5 minutes after I left. I called back before they closed to ask about it and they apologized profusely, said it was a mistake and would refund it...in 5-7 business days. They assured me they did not run the contract through without my signature. So best-case scenario I'm out 1 1/2 hours of my time, ran a hard check on my credit and have a line of credit approved for a store I will never use, was charged $50 that I seriously don't expect to see again, and I still don't have a washer and dryer. I'm also really nervous now that somehow my account will still be charged the first few payments, since they have my account info, until we figure out how to undo it. I can't believe this is legal.

We recently bought a Whirlpool French door refrigerator freezer from the Rancho Cordova Store and we are so very happy we did! The store was a little rough around the edges but you get such a great deal. Our refrigerator was listed at fair. We purchased it for almost 50% off and our wonderful Sales Associate Marcos showed us all of the features and made sure we were aware of a small scratch on the door handle and on the side. Both almost entirely buffed out and aren't very visible. We had it delivered and they were quick and efficient and pleasant. We later had a small issue with the filter, but after a quick talk with the store, it was resolved. (the filter had to be twisted into place a little bit more. All and all, we would definitely go there again for many of their other items. We're eyeing some furniture. If you want to pay the full price for your appliance, just so you can be ignored, or wait for someone to help you at one of the big chain stores, then go there and leave the bargains for the rest of us!
