Long overdue review for the staff who saved my limited edition poster into a frame that now hangs in my home.

+Quality work. I was a bit anxious to leave my limited edition print but it had been rolled up in its original sleeve for several years. Now it's showcased in a gorgeous frame!
+ Timely service. Promised me the framed poster as expected.
+ Friendly staff. The person who helped me was very patient and kind as he listened to my concerns. Only wish I had remembered his name!
+ No upsale. I could have gone in a different direction but got a package deal. Did not get any pressure to go spend more.
+ Extra mile. I showed up in a MINI and that framed poster was huge! The guy who framed my work helped me walk it to my car and figure out how to put it in my tiny little car.

Friendly, accurate quotes over the phone with dimensions. I dropped off a couple canvases I wanted stretched. When I arrived they gave me options so I knew what to expect with the final product. Prices were reasonable and best that I found in the city when doing some quick research and getting quotes. They told me it might take a couple months as they were in the process of moving which I was fine with and in no rush. When they were ready I got a call and picked them up. Everyone was always friendly and I'm happy with my art.

I grew up going to Artisans with my dad. We are followed them from Union Street to Irving and now to California street.

This is where I go when I have special photographs or paintings to frame. I let them pick the frame out because they do such a great job.

I have had several pieces of art framed at the old location on Irving and at the new location on California, and I continue to be impressed with the high quality and great service. They make great recommendations, take the time to explain the options, and work within your budget. Definitely recommend!

*Recommend*: If you need something framed or wire on the back of an art piece, go to ARTISANS at the corner of California and 5th Ave. in SF. This is a husband and wife operation and they are very sweet and do a wonderful and professional job. I was very happy with the help they gave me.

If you're looking to make an investment on framing a piece of art, this is the place to go for it - very talented and knowledgable owners and everything I've taken in for repairs / matting turned out beautiful. There's a bit of a wait on the turn around as they're fixing up the space after having to move their shop, but totally worth it for the craftsmanship and supporting a local business!!

I used the Artisans for framing since the 90's and was always extremely happy with their customer service and work. I don't believe you can expect that same level of customer service and quality, especially on smaller jobs, and I would not recommend this new company.

Had two small pieces framed, only needed the frames, no mats. Took 3 months to get the work done! I had to call them to find out what was taking so long. They explained they had some construction issues on the property. I understand these things happen. However, I did not appreciate that I was not notified, nor did I have the option to cancel my order as I had paid in full. These are not the same owners from the past. Customers are willing to "meet you half way" if you provide great customer service. I do not recommend.

Great work so we've had them do a number of pieces and have always been pleased. Especially for more complicated jobs. The service is always excellent in the shop. But it is very expensive and the framing can take a long time.
