Artizan Apartments

I've lived at Artizan for almost a year and it's been an incredible experience. A lot has changed about living in Oakland but I can't say enough about living in a community that feels like a resort. First, Nate and the entire staff are always seeking opportunities to improve the community. From keeping the property immaculate to upgrading the amenities to offer conveniences like laundry and dry cleaning services to dog walking and community activities.

Additionally, the people who live at Artizan are friendly and hospitable. Apartment living can come with challenges but not here. As a remote worker I enjoy quiet days and nights. I live next to the pool so occasionally I can hear my neighbors enjoying the pool, but honestly I don't mind. I love the mutual respect shown from one neighbor to another.

If you're looking for a new home, look no further. Artizan is a great place to call home.

I have been living here since the complex opened so I can leave a fair and honest review of the complex. Julia, Freddy, and Nate have been so helpful and accommodating for my family and I. I have rented spaces in many complexes and the service that we have received can't be beat. We are so grateful for the three of them.

While everyone's needs are different, Artizan is the perfect space. It's one of the only properties with a secured parking garage, most complexes in Oakland have those parking lifts or unsecured parking spaces that are prone to break ins and robberies. I can't speak for everyone, but in the two years I lived here, my car was never broken into (knocks on wood). I also think the price I pay is reasonable compared to the rates in other parts of Oakland and SF. There are also lots of floor plans to choose from. I have compared floor plans from many places and Artizan is actually very spacious compared to their neighbors.

The amenities are great. We hosted our baby shower on the 4th floor, it overlooks the water, it's a growing neighborhood with the Lumpia Company, Brozeit Lokal, and Zocalo Coffee nearby. If you wanna walk a little more, there's a Starbucks and a Ramen spot. On weekends, it's lively with step aerobics in the mornings, salsa in the afternoons, and Rollin with the Homos once a month. There's a gym, multiple rec rooms that overlook the water, a workspace with a printer and WiFi, bocci ball, and a swimming pool with a hot tub. My boyfriend and I also enjoy watching the sail boats and rowers in the mornings and evenings.

Most residents complain about the noise from these events, but I view it as opportunities for our community to grow. If you don't like it, well...you shoulda done your research here before moving here. Oakland is diverse, vibrant, and LOUD. It doesn't change for anyone!

The only downside to living here is that it's isolated from shopping centers. It takes about a good 15-20 minutes to get to Costco, Target, or any grocery store.

Would I recommend Artizan? Absolutely, but I also recommend doing your research and assessing your priorities before making the commitment to live here.

WOW! I was visiting some friends at Artizan and the experience was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew I was in for a treat. The sleek and modern design, combined with the warm and welcoming atmosphere, made me feel right at home.

Every single person I've interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional. From the leasing team to the maintenance staff, everyone seems to genuinely care about making sure residents have an amazing experience.

I've been at Artizan for a little over a year and I've enjoyed living here more than any other luxury apartment I've been at! Great location and right off the freeway. The management here has always been more than kind and helpful (thank you Julia & Nate!). We have awesome amenities that overview the water and get the best weather year round. My apartment is just the perfect size w/ a balcony which is my favorite part. Will most likely renew my lease!

Be ready for paying 150$ for garbage here !

I'm adding an extra star to my review based on my fantastic experience renting the event space. The 4th-floor lounge is not only beautiful and spacious but also features an additional bar room that doubles as a speakeasy for events. Despite the higher cost, the space is well worth it.

I'm also giving another star for the leasing office, particularly for Julia's outstanding customer service. She took the time to address an issue I had and worked with me in a transparent and patient manner. Julia went above and beyond to ensure everything was resolved to my satisfaction.

A special shoutout to Freddy for his exceptional work handling all maintenance requests. He's not only proficient but also an overall friendly person and its a joy to run into him on the elevator. The combination of an excellent event space, outstanding customer service from Julia, and top-notch maintenance by Freddy make this a standout choice for hosting events.

All that glitters is not gold! Do not be manipulated by the smiles and schmoozing of the leasing agents and property manager. Constant dog poop in the halls. All night partying in the hot tub with marijuana aroma and used wet condoms in the corners. Found the lawn furniture in the pool 3 times!

Read the fine print in the lease. Property manager vengefully tacks on unwarranted charges at move out. The administrative team makes multiple errors in calculations then makes tenants pay for their error. The garage constantly breaks and cars were broke into multiple times on multiple occasions. Building is NOT secure. Rumor has it that a person who was houseless was found sleeping in the hall.

An affordable housing project with subsidized housing is adjacent to the building. A subsidized senior housing development is bout to be built in the area across from the building. Parking is awful on the weekend for you and any guests and you can't rent more than 1 parking space. 1 space cost 175 per month! Property management does not guarantee security of the garage or building. When a robbery of the adjacent weed business occurred, residents were forbade to enter or exit the peninsula for the entire day, had to call off work!

Should be called the Fartizan cause everything including the property management team is full of S***! Also smells like sewer... couldn't tell if it was the dog feces or dog slobber , the polluted bay, or the pools of mud and slush caused by the construction that begins every morning at 5 AM. Peaceful Sunday mornings are lost to 8 am dance classes where the instructor calls out moves over an amplifier then as the day progresses you get a mix of EDM /rock/rap/ latin/ music that goes until the night. Don't forget the beautiful outhouse that sits on the sidewalk on display as you exit the lovely Fartizan!
Roses really smell Boo Boo! And the Artizan does too! Don't be juked! So glad to be gone !

Must say ...Freddy the maintenance man is always kind, courteous, and responsive. He is a human and not a robot. He is the diamond in the rough.

I too was quite impressed by the beautiful waterfront location but what I have experienced in the past few months have left much to be desired. The garage is not secure and by all indications from conversation with management, they don't think that's a problem. My car was stolen from the garage that I've been paying $175 a month for. I would be a bit less unhappy if I saw that Artizan was prompt in alerting residents of such security issues but it took 3 weeks between the time my entire car was stolen for Artizan to only briefly mention car break ins in a memo with very few details about the type of incidents that have occurred. It honestly makes me nervous especially since access into the garage means access to the rest of the building. I have been in contact with management and the police about my car but none of the responses from management have eased my trepidation

"READ BEFORE MOVE IN"

-Apartment complex is new; therefore, it has its areas that need improvement. It was made known that some residents did not have running water for 3 months, while others have circuit issues in their apartment. I have had that issue where I had to diagnose the problem and recommend the solution to the management team to speed up the fixing process.

-Pro: Their maintenance is very responsive when submitting tickets.

-The drainage and shower head of the apartment lacks efficiency. The drain takes a while to empty the tub, and may cause issues down the pipeline. The shower head lacks pressure, so it causes one to waste more water and time in the shower.

-Parking is a whopping $175/months where there's no security in place. Residents have gotten their vehicles damaged with no remedy to the issue from management. For that price, you'll have better luck parking on the streets where there is security throughout the night; however, its becoming very limited with the increase of people moving to the area. It has come to my knowledge they offer parking perks of FREE 6 MONTHS OR FREE PARKING FOR ONE CAR IF YOU HAVE TWO. A perk that was never offered to me when signing up for this complex.

-Now that the price dropped to move here, so did the quality of the apartment complex. The floor are becoming more dirty with animal fecal, and the the elevator has trash left behind. There has also been a heavy marijuana smell in the elevator that does not go away.

-Their GYM has also been cause of robbery and it is missing a weight from the room, and drinks are being left behind. It also now known it closes at 10pm where it was 24hr when there was less residence occupying the apartment complex.

-The packaging area, although it's high tech, closes too early for delivery drivers to deliver packages. They do not mind leaving your package outside, so be ready for it being stolen. Same goes for DoorDash drivers, they leave your food in the lobby due to lack of parking--they make a quick get away before their car gets cited.

-Adults are constantly drinking alcohol at the pool area, which goes against the apartments policy's; however, they take no action against it. Just empty email warnings. Again, taking away from having a safe environment for children.

-If you think you'll be moving to a quite area with the ocean next to you, you are NOT! Every weekend they a have latin music playing all day, and you can hear through the windows being closed. During the week, you will hear the train tracks which disturbs one's peace while trying to WFH.

-If you are handicap, good luck getting around here. The parking spaces are limited, and the door accessibility is as well. None of the doors open automatically for those in a wheelchair, and the elevator handles are covered with tarps. There is no handicap parking around the building, and in the garage I noticed its limited with two spaces per floor.

-If you are new, its a good deal, but for those signed the lease at a higher rate, it has become a great rip off. Wish I would have scoped the area more before moving here, especially now overpaying for the quality of life that is being offered.

Gorgeous! I have been searching for an apartment for awhile now and stumbled upon this complex. Comfortable atmosphere, beautiful views, and very very friendly staff. I was able to take a tour with no hassle at all which surprised me, most places I've gone to seem to have no time for me. Stephanie was the person who helped me and showed me all the beautiful and clean amenities as well as the beautiful view! Definitely put my application in!!
