Asef is a real expert at fixing antique style lamps. He fixed my lamp in a few days. The cost was very reasonable. Thank you for your customer service and expertise.

Great old school style repair shop for virtually any appliance. I brought in a vintage lamp that needed a new socket and plug. A one man shop, Asef did a fine job of the repairs, the socket can now hold 150 watt 3 way bulb which is a bonus. So is petting his little shop companion Cupid.

I gave 4 stars for 2 reasons, the cost of the repairs a found a little high at $56 bucks, and two the shop is located on impossible parking 4th street.

This is a place like no other in our time. Get in your time machine and go back to the 1950's where there were local merchants who you trusted like a member of your family. Here is Asef's who may in fact have been there since the fifties. In the age of planned obsolescence where we throw out broken things and just buy another, this place would seem like a distant dream. Asef's can FIX THINGS!!! That loving appliance that stopped working, that lamp you adored from childhood that needs a shade, that strange appliance your mom insists on keeping that just stopped working? All doable here. The tiny store on 4th is filled wall to wall with, well, everything imaginable. The relatives who run the place could easily be their own Netflix series right now. So support this place and these wonderful folks! We had a lamp fixed that was part of a set and found an identical shade. Nothing Amazon could do.
A gem of gems. Just go in for a visit--it's a step into the past that I wish there were more of!!

Asef's fully repaired our four year old Dyson vacuum cleaner. Great service, reasonable prices! Locally owned.

I am so grateful we have a place like Asef's that we can trust and experience good craftsmanship along side the high level of people skills they possess. That line of care has become sadly rare. I have done business with them for over twenty years, and the relationship you will form with them will make your world brighter as well.

It depends - I wish I had taken my toaster here instead. I did take my lamp here and the repair was expensive and mundane - $20 for a cheap cord part that didn't match and $50 labor so repair was $70. More than the lamp is worth. Sigh. But they do have all sorts of shades and seem to be able to repair most anything. At a price. Good place to know about.

Asef gives excellent and professional service I am very impressed and thankful that I found him He made sure that I knew how to thread my sewing machine properly (I had been doing it incorrectly) and noticed as I had not that I needed a new cord

PLEASE BEWARE OF DOG, SWINGING DOOR AND TRICKERY. I went to Asef's today to find a replacement glass cover for a ceiling fixture. As anyone who has ever been in this shop knows it is very jam packed with odds and ends of things. Well, right as I walked into the shop (the door opens in) the glass shades were on the right, as I stopped to look at the shades another person pushed open the door-wow close call...but none of the shades broke, then their little dog ran up to me and well there was another close call (they have placed tottering hurricane lamp shades on the bottom shelf right next to the swinging into the shop door)
Now I must note that the owner did not come over to me, nor did his elderly cane caring father to pick up shades for me to look at! (I point this out because there are signs under there glass shades that say "don't touch") I picked up a sturdy glass shade to see if it would do as a replacement...as I put it back some STACKED glass thing slid down on a bunch of glass shades in the next section of glass replacement shades. GUESS WHAT THE OWNER AND HIS FATHER RUSHED OVER AND YELLED, "YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR THOSE, THERE ARE SIGNS THAT SAY DON'T TOUCH".
Well as the shades were being picked up another shade was hit. "THAT IS NOW 5 SHADES!" The cost was $100 no "at cost" no "that was partly our fault". BEWARE IF YOU GO TO THIS SHOP THEY WILL GET YOU. ME I'M NEVER GOING NEAR THERE AGAIN !!!

We have had a string of bad-to-mediocre experiences here. I want to like this place and give it more stars, because this is just the type of place we need to have around and it's right downtown. It also has a bunch of old and new light pieces, vacuum-cleaners, etc.

However, they messed up my watch battery, not telling me that they put in the wrong battery that did not fit right and which they therefore taped in (all of which I later found out when I went to a different place), constantly causing problems and making me think that something was wrong with my watch.

Then, they said they could fix our old Electrolux vacuum cleaner, but took weeks and achieved nothing aside from more promises that it would be done soon, eventually telling us that they could not, or would not, fix it. We eventually were able to work out a deal to buy another one of the same model that they had but it was tough and like pulling teeth, a stressful, unpleasant experience. They had also failed to properly fix the power head and eventually we were able to go somewhere else and get the pieces to fix it ourselves. We used to get our vacuum fixed at another place on Hwy 12 near Mission Ace Hardware, but it closed some years ago, unfortunately.

We will never go here again if we can avoid it. I am tempted to give this place one star, but that may be just a tad too harsh.

Great spot for many of your known and unknown needs. What does that mean? This local family run business does so many things that you just have to stop in and see if they can help. Fixing a broken clock? Done. Making keys? Done. Need random types of batteries? Done. Need your watch or car key battery replaced? Done. Missing a part in uour vacuum? Done. Need bathroom signs? Done.

I love this spot and I come here for all of my random needs
