Wow! We really appreciate the team here at Associated Heating. With the recent storms it appears our furnace went out at the church which was built in 1927.
Andrea received my call and wasn't quite sure if they could do the work but took all my information down reassuring me she would check with the technician and get back to us ASAP.
Within an hour she called saying they could come out and also fit us into their busy schedule. She was caring and didn't want our congregation to get cold over the next few days.
Brian or Bryan (technician) came out and he has 28+ years of experience with this company. Explained what was wrong and what needed to be done to correct the issue. He was polite, professional, and truly a joy to work with! They are a small business that understands customer service along with being honest and just good people. Whoa that is hard to come by nowadays!! If you have any issues give them a call I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Associated Heating lives up to their positive ratings - our heater stopped working on a typically cool SF morning, and I impressed by the warm professional approach from Andrea, who was able to dispatch a technician for mid-day. When Rod showed up in the first half of the promised 2 hour window, he was friendly and efficient. He diagnosed the issue, gave me an up front price for repairs, and finished the fix promptly. Additionally, he did a great job explaining my options for keeping our furnace running moving forward. I'm glad to know that when our furnace needs service, we know exactly who we'll call.

Furnace not working well, associate heating came by same day and checked everything with no issues except very dirty filter... replaced and all good...didn't even charge for service call...highly recommend...still recommend but did charge for service call

I needed my very old gravity furnace looked at because it would not start. Bryan came for the service call and could not have been better at solving and explaining the problem. Furnace was up and running in 30 minutes. Thank you Bryan for all your help. I would recommend Associated Heating for any furnace needs.

Needed my furnace checked and help with my poor thermostat. Bryan came out and replaced the thermostat. Also really alleviated my fears of my crazy furnace! I appreciate the excellent service! (also made it easier to change the filter)

I'm puzzled of all the 5-star rating but I guess experiences vary. Here's my experience
First call answered by Rod who said he can't come for a wk because he's going on vacation. He didn't suggest anyone else in the company who could help instead.
He showed up at 9:55 am for an appt between 9-10 am. He had no earlier appt (per his colleague) and I have to leave for work at 10 am.
He poked around for about 20 min, mostly telling me that the ducting was going to be difficult. An est never came despite me telling him that our contractor needed it urgently.
So I guess that's 3 strikes.

Associated Heating recently installed a dual-zone heat-pump for our home. We also upgraded our thermostats with Ecobee smart thermostats. The installation team members were competent, professional, courteous and timely - everything you'd hope for, and an overall great experience!

Professional team and efficent. My 30 year gas furnace went out, and Andrea took my call and scheduled a technician for the next day. Brian came out and was very knowledgeable and showed me what parts were defective and that I needed to replace the unit. The installers, a father & son team named Steve and Steven showed up on time and was extremely efficient and quick in their installation and took time to explain how the new furnace worked as well as how to change the filter. I would highly recommend them for your heating needs.

Bryan, Steve, Steve Jr. and their helper.... Joe did an outstanding job in removing the 36 year old furnace and installing the new one with new ducting. They arrived as scheduled, worked promptly and efficiently. They were courteous and explained to me what they had done, how to change the filters and how to set the controller. I cleaned up the area so it looked like new.

The area looks as if it should now be in the museum of Modern art with the shiny duct work. But most importantly, the furnace heats up our home rapidly and quietly. We highly recommend Associated Heating of SF for any heating needs.

I recently learned that gas furnaces will no longer be available for purchase in California after February 29, 2024, due to requirements put in place by the California EPA. My understanding is consumers will be forced into a choice between purchasing a heat pump, which for many homes would require upgrading electrical panels, or installing solar panels to offset the electricity costs at great expense. The other option will be to purchase a Ultra LowNOx furnace, hereinafter referred to as a ULN. After researching information about the ULN furnaces, it was clear to me they might have some safety issues and were definitely not going to be cost efficient heating our home. One video I viewed was the owner of a heating company suggesting that only 68 to 70 cents of every dollar would actually go towards heating my home with a ULN. He advocated for heat pumps over the ULN furnace.

After doing my research, I looked for a well established HVAC company. I contacted Associated Heating of San Francisco, Inc. This company has been in business in excess of 70 years. I called them and my first contact was with Andrea. Andrea was very pleasant and professional and immediately set me up with an appointment after our brief conversation. On the day of my appointment, a gentleman named Rich showed up on time, as scheduled. Turns out that Rich is the owner of the company and has 52 years of experience. Rich inspected my unit and told me it was 32 years old. Rich was very pleasant and professional. I had questions and he answered all of them. Rich explained what my options were, which included keep the one I have (32 year old Carrier Brand), or replace it with a new Carrier Brand furnace. Rich explained I'd have the choice between a furnace that's 80% efficient, like the one I currently have, or a 96% efficient unit at an increased cost. He further explained it would require changing some of the piping to properly ventilate the 96% unit. Rich also shared his thoughts on heat pumps and the ULN/Ultra Low NOx units. His explanation made my decision much easier to make, so I chose the 96% efficient Carrier gas furnace.

My new furnace was installed on 2/5/24. A crew of 3 men arrived promptly, as scheduled. I was greeted with friendly handshakes and professionalism throughout my installation by two Steve's and Rick. Shortly after their arrival, the owner Rich showed up. I was surprised to see him and very impressed that he cared enough to make certain his crew was dialed in on the details of the installation. He left shortly afterwards, but returned 6 hours later as his crew just completed the installation and was cleaning up after themselves. Seriously, who delivers service like this anymore? I hardly heard a thing while the crew was in my garage and attic the entire day. I can't overstate how happy I was with this entire process from my first call to Andrea, until the crew left after cleaning up after themselves immaculately following the installation. I want to mention my concern for my recently installed flooring too. This crew laid down a barrier between my floor and their ladder, to keep from scratching my floor while accessing the attic. Top notch care for sure!

It's long been said, "You get what you pay for". I feel great about the price I paid, for the extraordinary level of service I received. I highly recommend Associated Heating of San Francisco, Inc. Remember folks, if you're considering a reliable gas furnace, such as the Carrier Brand I just had installed, you only have until the end of this month, February 2024, to purchase one.
