No surprise to find that every rating posted so far is a 5-star! Checkbook.org led me to Automotive Specialists over 7 years ago, and I have been their happy customer ever since.

Fast, well-priced, accurate, and they value their customers. Their advice over what work to do and what work is not worth it keeps bolstering my trust.

And then these last several months: after nearly a decade of perfect results from Automotive Specialists, my Miata stumped them. A few unsuccessful parts-replacement experiments later, they sent me to Royal Motors for their Mazda-specific code reader. (Reference: my 1-star rating of Royal Motors.) When the "service" Royal Motors offered resulted in a waste of both time and money, Automotive Specialists more than made up for it with comped parts and labor. Furthermore, when I came to them with results of research I had done on the Miata.net forums, they LISTENED to me, and we both are enjoying our success!

They explain the case clearly to you, what needs to be done, and check in with you if they notice something needs to be different from the initial discussion. The final price is always within the estimate. The work is high quality and timely. When I ask a question, they take the time to answer them thoroughly. Can't ask for more!

I have been coming here with our families cars since Ernie and Tommy opened their shop in 1991 for minor or major auto repairs as well as receiving honest advice. I previously owned an 86 Honda Accord sedan that was in great condition thanks to AS taking care of the regular maintenance. The car had very low mileage (under 12k/yr is considered very good) but 5 yrs ago while checking the transmission they advised me that I should think about trading or selling it as their were notable traces that it would eventually go out which would cost more than what it was worth. As other Yelpsters who have brought their cars here, they often will not charge for minor issues or if there is a charge it is very reasonable. Today, I visited the shop to get an oil change and tire rotation and as you can see from the pics they keep a very clean and organized shop including the restrooms!

I feel very fortunate to have had Automotive Specialists service my 1991 Honda Civic for the past 17 years. They have handled all large and small issues efficiently and economically. They even performed some small issues free of charge and have advised against unnecessary work. The friends and family I have referred to Automotive Services have all been equally pleased. Calvin, Tom and Ernie are a terrific team.

I brought my car in after it was broken into and damaged to the point where it was almost totaled. I am so grateful to have come across this auto shop and very appreciative of all the support Tom and his team has given us during this difficult time. I believe the quote on the repair was very reasonable for the amount of damaged that accrued and the repair was done in a very timely manner. There was always consistent communication and timely updates on the status and price of the cost of repair.

Tom is so precise in diagnosing problems we've had with our cars. He's efficient and always does an amazing job. Ernie has helped us many times and is just as efficient. We've had our cars maintained and repaired by Tom and Ernie for the past 30 years. Calvin is great in making sure that the front is running and all the parts are ordered and arrive on time.

Called them for an emergency battery replacement, and they allowed me to come in immediately for help.

They answer the phone right away, are very kind and informative, and are very straightforward with fair pricing. Their location is very convenient, and their actual shop is so organized and clean.

When replacing my battery, they even offered to recharge my current battery overnight for a small fee rather than completing a battery replacement. Unfortunately, I needing a working battery right away, but I greatly appreciated their offer.

Their pricing was very fair and about the same as my normal repairman. I would definitely come back to this shop.

Where to start with this glowing review??? My 18 year old daughter left for a road trip 2 days ago after having her car serviced at home. As she was approaching San Francisco yesterday, she discovered a massive oil leak. She called Automotive Specialists promptly at their opening this morning at 7:00am. They took her car in right away and had it fixed under 3 hours later. It was a minor problem that the other mechanic overlooked. Tom and Ernie were extremely kind and honest about the situation, charging a fair price. They could have easily taken advantage of a young woman with limited car knowledge that was in a predicament. Instead, they did their job with integrity. My daughter RAVED about how nice and helpful they were. They even offered to phone the mechanic back home to explain the issue. It was a true relief to have her assisted with such care. I can't thank this professional, upstanding business enough!

I've been getting my 2003 Infiniti G35 serviced here for the last 5 years. I have to say this is by far the best garage I've ever experienced *ever* (and I've been driving for over 35 years). I would give them more stars if it were possible. My car has over 150,000 miles on it - and it runs like new thanks to them.

I actually test drove brand new cars, and couldn't get myself to give up my older car since it sounded and ran better.

Among the reasons I recommend them are:
- Sheer skill and competence. They've trouble shot some tricky electrical problems in front of me in a short period. Their experience and ability clearly came across.
- Highly professional. They deliver 110 percent on what they promise time after time. They are very polite and great to deal with.
- Accommodating. They will squeeze you into their schedule when possible.
- Quality. I've never had an issue with anything they've fixed.
- Great value/price. They offer very good prices, and charge very reasonably.
- Proactive. They noticed substantial wear and tear on my car at about 120,000 miles -and recommended replacing some bushings/shocks etc. Without hesitation I followed their advice, and the car ran better immediately.

I just brought my car in to replace the vent hose. After giving me an estimate $130 lower than my local Ford dealership, at the end of the day, they did the job for me for free. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

I went to this shop to get a brake and lamp inspection. They finished the inspection super quick. They contacted me within a couple hours and they got the job done. Their customer service is great, I had a great experience coming here.
