Once we found AutoTech of Syracuse a bunch of years ago we never looked back!
For one, when you enter their office you are entering a museum. I feel like I'm in the middle of the American Pickers show. So many antiques abound in the shop you just want to spend some time perusing the garage. Very very cool!
I think everyone can say a big issue you may have at auto shop is just in the service you are getting from them. Are they honest? Do they over price?
Owners & brothers Ed and Paul are honest and fair in the work they do.
There has been a couple of occasions I was ready to fork over major cash only needed tech work that was at a affordable price. Not only have I brought both my families vehicles to Auto Tech but they also helped me out with purchasing and rewiring my trailer with LED lights. They really can do it all, just give them a call. I will never go anywhere else!

I'm an avid vehicle lover, when people come to me asking for a trustworthy mechanic, I send them to AutoTech. They've never convinced me to purchase a service I haven't needed, and they are respectful when I ask many questions! The prices are very fair, especially for the level of care you receive. I just had my truck serviced, they were efficient and communicated with me throughout the process.

I've been with Ed, his uncle Paul and their team for over FOUR DECADES. I don't go anywhere else; there will be no more professional, reliable, and caring service anywhere, so why even think about it! The ONLY REASON I'm not currently is that I just lucked out (considering the bizarre market & supply system issues) and landed a 2022 Corolla LE made in Japan and shipped to Upstate NY through the Panama Canal and into the Port of Newark (NJ). Ed was thrilled for me (now a FIVE TIME TOYOTA OWNER), and gave me a hearty handshake. So I'm committed to the two year Toyota Service package, only because it is probably the only one on the planet which beats Autotech's very reasonable prices! The day that ends, I'll be back 'home' there again. But I know that if I have any questions or issues in the meantime, I can count on my "car doctor" Ed for the best possible advice. Since I started with Autotech, I've always said to folks (especially Toyota and other Asian car owners): "If I had ever needed an emergency baby sitter for my (even young) kids, I wouldn't have hesitated to see if Ed or Paul (a Vietnam vet) were free that evening!" THAT's how much I appreciate these guys as great people.

I arrived not for my car but a stubborn gas pipe that was very difficult to loosen the unions. I stopped by this shop and spoke to a gentleman named Paul. Paul took my pipe and helped me solve the problem with their tools. Paul did not charge me anything. These guys are good people....

I've been going to Autotech since I got my first car. I don't trust anyone else with my cars. They are kind, respectful and honest - they won't say to bring your car in if they don't have time for it, so you always get it back the same day.
They will take care of emergencies - once replaced a bad wheel bearing immediately when I was going on a long trip and Ed felt it wasn't safe for me to travel w/the bearing in that shape. Another time he drove out to my parents' house to repair a flat tire. Who else is going to treat you that well??!
They also understand limited budgets and work to keep repairs affordable. As I said, I won't go anywhere else! I trust those guys with everything.

Took my Prius to Autotech, based on strong recommendations from friends, several years ago. Oil change, etc., but their person put in an extra pint of oil. A couple weeks later the car stopped dead, got carried to Toyota dealer, where about $400 later it ran again--because of the extra oil. Tried to get satisfaction from Autotech, got nowhere (it's complicated), so now I go to Walt's, where they are very professional.

I love this shop. The techs -including the counter staff -are knowledgeable, they're responsive, and they don't want to waste my money on work I don't need done. They do great work on imports. They're pretty fast for drop-off and pick-up. They're very responsive on the phone. And the service is quick -I don't think I've ever left a vehicle there overnight.

They'll drive you to work when you're dropping off your car in the morning.

      Call ahead for an appointment.

Autotech is SO reliable, so exacting, so helpful. Ed, Paul, and crew know their cars, know their customers. I say, "I'm driving to Florida," and they know what and how to check for everything to keep me safe. I would never take my car anywhere else for service or problem-solving! Oh, and so reasonably-priced.

      BEWARE! GOT SCAMMED!

First off, just want to say I got ripped off for $600. Here's what happened:
Last winter my car developed an odd issue where it would misfire when under 20 degrees. A friend recommended Autotech of Syracuse, so I decided to give them a try. I bring my car in, they do their thing and diagnosed the issue. Turns out the intake manifold gaskets were bad. So I dropped my car off on a Friday to get it repaired. On Monday I come pick the car up. I notice it lost 1/2 tank of gas, and had an extra 140 miles on the odometer. I wouldn't have been pissed off if the issue was actually fixed. The next day I get a check engine light with the same codes. I bring it back and all they do is clear the code. It was already spring so temps got higher and the issue went away.

Now a month ago I get the SAME EXACT issue again. Same codes, same everything. I decided to take a look myself...THEY NEVER CHANGED THE INTAKE GASKETS!!!
I pull the top of the engine off and the old cracked and brittle gaskets were still sitting there!!

They apparently lied to me and said they had done work that they didn't!!! $600 for them to take MY car on a joy ride. Those a-holes!!

I did purchase a PPI from them once, which went well, hence I gave it a 2 star rating. Make sure you know the work has been done on the car!! Never going back to this shop again!!
