I had an amazing experience today with the lovely Eliana and I am absolutely thrilled to have found her.

I have mature, thick and wiry/dry hair and in the three years since I moved to Sonoma I have not been able to find a confident, talented and experienced professional who knew what to do with it.

Eliana ended my search with a thorough, masterful and creative approach that gave me the head of hair back I knew I had buried in there somewhere!

The salon has an airy and caring vibe and if they could see their way clear to losing the country music, they would be perfect, too.

Just loved this salon! I needed my roots done, as I have an event this week and couldn't wait for my regular hairstylist. Because this salon got excellent reviews, I decided to try it. I love the way you call them and they text you back. So so much easier to send a text than to talk to someone on the phone especially when there's noise in the background and people are busy. I got a text from Candace right away and she squeezed me in on a Saturday at 12:45 PM. She was so nice and friendly. I absolutely love my hair after she colored it. I decided to return to have her color my hair in the future. The salon is beautiful. She offered me water or coffee or tea which is always a nice touch. The salon is very clean and that always makes a difference. The place is humming on a Saturday which is really nice to see. So glad I found Candace and this salon!

Vanessa was very pleasant and enjoyed talking with her as she styled my hair. I love the cut she gave me and plan to continue using her as my stylist.

Just a FYI to anyone looking to come to the salon for the first time, they are not currently accepting new clients. (Neutral 3 stars)

I've been coming to Ava Lane Salon for years. Candace has done an amazing job creating a beautiful space with talented people and a warm small town attitude. I always feel spoiled and welcome every single time. Candace does an amazing job. I love the products they use, the warm elegance of the salon, and of course the color and cut. All the ladies here are friendly and inviting. Highly recommend!

I recently got a balayage done at a nearby hair salon. It did not turn out the way that I had asked, and started to look at different hair salons to get it, corrected. That is when I reached to Ava Lane hairdressing, and found Shannon. I saw her work and reached out to her with the before and after picture and what I had wanted. I made an appointment with her and within the first session I was able to see the difference. I had another appointment with her, which was yesterday, and I am just so happy with the results. She knew exactly what I wanted and knew how to tone my hair down and did it perfectly. I am very happy to say that I have found my hairstylist and will not be going with anyone else!

I have been coming here for a very very long time. I will not trust anyone else with my hair except for Eliana. She is so incredibly sweet and knowledgeable. She has been with me through all of my hair phases. From me wanting to keep long hair, to wanting to go for a bob, to now my hair loss disease as a young woman. She helped give me some advice to help counteract my hair loss which I am working on!! She knows what she is doing, and is always so helpful in looking for good products & styling advice. She is the best!!!

DISASTER - worst hair cut ever!
When my regular stylist had an emergency and I wanted a trim before travel, I thought I'd try this high end downtown salon. Don't let the classy ambience fool you. I showed the stylist a photo of the length I wanted and brought some curlers so she could see my hair would need to go around those curlers. Apparently she didn't pay any attention. Cut is so bad I didn't think I could go out in public.
Happily my regular stylist returned and helped to salvage as best she could.

Update: Nope I went to your salon a few times. Why would I go out of my way to make this up? Here's my new look with a friend-stylist who has been doing my hair since 2009.

I've visited a few times, Megan, Nicole and Katie have all addressed my various hair needs. I've done trims and even longer to pixie, each cut spaced out to fit my growth.

They've helped me when I'm at a loss for words, deciphering my hand moments and concerns for misshapen hair, weird patches of thickness and even a bald spot I was growing out and hiding. They didn't make a weird face when they combed over it and didn't adjust their tone. Simple gestures such as these go a long way.

I usually want my hair to be more feminine, thinned out, and cut in such a way it doesn't feel so blah. They honestly care to know what's going to make you feel the best. They have super convenient booking and payment processes. I'm never leaving thinking a part of my hair could have turned out better.
