Ayawaska RestoBar- Petaluma

My family and I had a really great brunch experience today! The food and drinks were amazing, service was great and good vibes with the DJ playing awesome tunes. First time for brunch and we will definitely be back.

Ayawaska Brunch for the Win!
Today we had a fantastic brunch! Music, sunshine, a nice breeze as we watched people kayaking the petaluma river.
I started with a drink choice (this is one of the restaurants that makes drinks for people like me that love juices with awesome flavors but I don't drink alcohol). The Red detox Berry blend was sweet and tart and pulled together with yummy, and was perfect with the Poke bowl. I usually go for the salmon dish during normal hours and it is always out of this world so I tried the Salmon Poke and holy moly I will be back during brunch for this amazing dish.
My husband loves the spicy chicken sandwich we are always looking for a good spicy chicken sandwich without fried chicken and this was perfect! not much to talk about there one minute it's on the table and the next it has disappeared. Yum yum yum!

This was our third visit, and again it was excellent in every way.

I had the Cau Cau, a seafood stew. The flavor was so good!

We also had filet mignon salad, and a chicken salad. You can see the beautiful colors and large portions. Delicious!

It's a lovely restaurant and great ambiance. Highly recommended!

Great food and good portions. Very different foods and a great place to try something new. Food was well prepared.

Reserved a table for a party of 9 and they confirmed my reservation and when we got there they had everything ready! They accommodated us very well and we're on top of everything despite us being a large party. The drinks and food were really good! The empanadas were delicious!! I definitely reccomend you check this place out

Came here to have dinner with my coworkers. The place was nice and they had good music selection.

As a Bolivian, I was very happy to have this option that is somewhat close to our cuisine - So I had to order a chicha morada as my beverage of choice, so refreshing!

I ordered the caus caus mariscos. The presentation was lovely, seafood was fresh, rice was nice and warm. But the flavor lacked slightly to be honest. It was a bit underwhelming.

Since I'm GF, there wasn't much I could try from their menu. But from what my coworkers expressed, the empanadas were delicious, so if you want something safe, try an empanada!

Ayawaska has a new brunch menu! It is delicious I only took a picture of my juice. It was more like a smoothie. All seasonal fruits and some coconut water it was so refreshing.
I love it here lunch and dinner are the best and now we can add brunch too to that list.

So....this was a rough one. I didn't write a review when I last went about 4 months ago but that experience was bad but I considered it a one off.

The good remains the same - Food and outdoor patio are really great.

The bad - the past two experiences are related to the staff. Yesterday - it started off great with the hostess - very nice, funny, engaging. Then - the servers turned the tide and experience of the evening. I have no problem with wait staff that are professional, courteous and not overly engaging but what we experienced was curtness, minimal dialogue, and rudeness. It actually became comical at one point . Our young adult daughter who is normally much more forgiving said several times afterwards that the behavior of the waiter and his assistants was just not right.


This is a place that we used to always recommend to our City friends coming up this way but sadly - we won't be recommending this restaurant again as it was that off putting to all of us.

I made reservations but it was raining and they weren't busy so they took us early. It was pretty dead inside but as it got later, it definitely got busier. From the maitre'd to the floor, the staff were great. Our server was attentive but not over bearing and answered all of our questions. We ordered the empanadas to start and they were light and delicious. We had the traditional Chica morada which was refreshing and not too sweet. I had the pisco sour and it was OK but I opted for a different spirit for my second drink.

For mains we had the lomo saltado and the grilled octopus. The beef in the lomo saltado was so tender, I could cut it with a fork. It was seasoned just right and the accompanying vegetables were cooked perfectly also. The grilled octopus was also on point.

I would definitely come back. Glad to know that they have another location so there are some options!
