Bancroft Cleaners

I had stopped getting things dry cleaned for a couple of years as I have been doing most things on gentle cold, drip dry with a light iron or fluff. Yes, most things that say dry clean only can be gently washed at home.

However, I needed some alterations, cleanings and some new zippers put in.

Everything was fantastic. Alterations were perfect. They went shopping for a special zipper for a north face fleece - perfect match. They did a beautiful drycleaning job on a red silk dress.

I have some more items to take to them, and will amend as required, but so far, I am very happy. I have been using Bancroft Cleaners since 1994.

This place is terrible. Was promised a suit by Friday but the clerk wrote down Saturday. Went to get it back and to take it someplace else and they grumbled and complained about having to find it,. The owner hides in the back and puts women up front who barely speak English. Stay away !!!

I'm ONLY rating them 1 star cuz that's all I could. I put my pants in and paid for it than. Came back to pick them up & they could find them than told me that I didn't pre pay for them. I WAS going to put another pair of pants in there but I'm taking my business somewhere else!! And if anyone ask me about a good cleaners I'm DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDING THEM!!!

Omg I just witnessed the worst customer service ever, 4:55 pm, a customer arrived to Bancroft cleaners to acquire her dry cleaning. Only to have the door locked in her face, and denied the service this woman was about mid 50s begging to get her clothes for work the two employees rolled there eyes and said it's too late at 455 pm and walk away I then walk up to the car and said I saw it All the lady couldn't even talk crying please this was not ok Bancroft cleaners

Nothing negative I can say. Dropped off two wool coats for dry cleaning. Ready in two days. The cleaning is done on-site. The two women working there couldn't not have been nicer.

I generally don't ever use dry cleaning or have anything that needs to be dry cleaned. Unfortunately, my cat peed on my down comforter. Bancroft Cleaners did a fabulous job cleaning the comforter. It looks great, smells fresh (no fragrance added) , folded beautifully, and was saved.

Got some stuff cleaned here for my grandfather... seemed a little pricey but service was fast and it got the job done... i would us them again... service was pretty friendly and nice turn around service..

Wow! Just wow! The pieces I dropped off:
- 3 collar shirts : white (1), designs (2)
- full Calvin Klein slim sit tailored suit royal blue

This place was legit. Cleaned all my items with precision. In addition removed scuff marks from a previous location that I will not mention here. It is a bit pricey but it's the Bay Area.

This cleaners is HORRIBLE. I was mortified that they lost my clothesline they offered ABSOLUTELY NO REMEDY to help me locate them. They Treated me like I was an idiot and said if I had no receipt then I was out of luck. Upon further inspection I found, I discovered that they failed to properly enter my information into their system. This was after I luckily found my receipt. Their staff is incompetent. The lady entered my name under someone else's account. If I hand not found my receipt, I would be out of $300 dollars worth of clothes and $46.50 for the cleaning fees.

Please do not patronize this place. If they lose your clothes, your just out of luck. Period.

They don't wear masks either. BTW- They are not abiding by the Alameda County Health orders for COVID19. Not one person in that facility was wearing a mask.

I arrived before the business closed today only to find the employee leaving early. I needed my clothes and the employee acted as if it was passed closing time. I told her I needed my clothes as I had an important meeting the next day. This employee was un professional, rude and out right inconsiderate. At one point it appeared that she was more interested in leaving early than offering a paying customer good service. I had a problem before with this business breaking buttons on my clothes, not disclosing this information when I picked them up but decided to give a second chance and this happened. I know they are hiring by the signs in the window however this business needs to screen the applicants a bit better to represent the business in a more positive light.

I took a suit to Bancroft Cleaners to be cleaned. When I picked it up, the skirt was damaged. It had a small hole in it and pulled threads. I asked to see the manager, who was in the cleaners and the clerk said he was busy.

The clerk showed him the skirt, and he sent her back to me with excuses. He said he was not responsible for the damage, and would not give me a refund for the cleaning.

I cannot recommend this cleaners to anyone because of poor customer service.
