Besides arriving an hour late, the technical did not follow the covid safety protocols that are outlined on their website. I asked him to take his shoes off and he refused, multiple times, even though the website says the technicals wear disposable shoe covers, he said he didn't have any.

He wore his mask under his nose and I asked him twice to wear it correctly to which he replied "people do not spread covid, media does." I had to ask him several more times to wear his mask correctly.

I wish I would have asked him to leave the moment he said "people do not spread covid, media does." My partner has asthma and compromised lungs and the Bay Area Appliance employee did not care or show any concern for our concern with safety.

I would not use them again, ever.

Worst appliance company to deal with. I'd avoid them at all cost. They don't know how to fix or service dryers washers etc. Bernia, is the name of the lady that runs the place and she pretty much doesn't answer her phone.

I used these guys on a reccomendation from the dealer that sold me the Fisher Paykel double dishwasher. This incident happened a while back but it is important to get the word out- Prices may have changed.

They sent a guy out that purposely took an extra two minutes in order to hit me with another half hour (60 bucks) total labor charge was $180.00. and 60 buck trip charge. The repair guy kept boasting that he could take apart the machine in 15 minutes and fix it back in "no time." Turns out he takes about 31 minutes to diagnose that there is nothing wrong with the machine and the "F1" code.

Since he did not fix anything, it would have been nice just to charge me for the half hour labor instead of 1 hour labor and trip charge. But he would not give me any slack.

I would not use them again.

Quick summary if you don't want to read my whole review: They're expensive, they nickel-and-dime you, and they are not trustworthy.

We have worked with Bay Area Appliance over the past several years and have had some good experiences. However a recent service call was so disappointing and upsetting that we will no longer work with them.

We have a Fisher-Paykel washer and dryer and have had them serviced a few times (all by Bay Area Appliance). Our dryer was making horrible sounds so we called them for a service call. They came out and fixed the problem (a part needed replacing). $65 plus the cost of the part. Not unreasonable.

We then mentioned that we weren't sure if the "hot" setting on the washer was working correctly as sometimes the water did not seem to get hot. He ran a diagnostic (pressed some buttons on the front panel) and tightened up the hoses and said "everything's fine". $65 for 5 minutes of work. Ripoff.

We had also told them in advance that our Viking oven was not heating properly, and could they check that out. So he checked the oven -- took some panels out and proclaimed that we needed 3 new coils (one for the oven, one for the broiler, and one for the griddle) even though the oven was the only thing that wasn't working. The new coils were going to be $130 each and we needed three. He could come back out to install them. $65 charge to diagnose the oven.

After calling Bay Area Appliance to ask for, at a minimum, a refund on the $65 charge for the "work" on the washer, we were told that they would not refund anything. We asked to speak to a manager, and they did not allow that to happen. Their only offer was that if they came back out to install the new oven coils, they wouldn't charge us another $65 fee for that service call (which the service tech had already said wouldn't be charged).

Anyway, we decided to go with another service company (AM-PM Appliance Service -- highly recommended!) for the oven repair. When Bill from AM-PM came out, he told us that the oven only has ONE coil. He replaced that coil and the job was done. He said that some Viking ovens have separate coils but that ours was an older model that only had one coil.

**Remember -- the Bay Area Appliance tech took the oven apart before telling us that we needed three coils -- so we have no option but to believe that he lied to us just to sell us three coils when we only needed one!**

Please do not patronize Bay Area Appliance! I know some people have reported positive experiences with them, and we have also had good experiences with them in the past, but this kind of operation cannot be trusted!

Can't fault these guys. There was a problem with the Fisher-Paykel dishwasher. After a terrible experience with another service company, on the advice of the extremely UFC Gwynnie P. we called Bay Area Appliance.

There was only two days wait for a visit. The technician (Juan) arrived on time and with the correct part. He confirmed the diagnosis and fixed the problem within 10 minutes. After hearing about our bad experience with another repair company, and furnished with our incident number, he called Fisher-Paykel and talked them into paying for the visit Gratis.

      For free.

Can't say fairer than that. But isn't that the way it is supposed to work? Five stars from me!

Horrible, had a warranty covered issue with our washer, They sent Bay Area appliance to repair, guy was wearing flip flops and shorts, no uniform was a rude with an attitude. unit was in a closet. I explained The washer load was off balance and caused the unit to shake badly and it stopped working. I suspected it may have shook so hard it moved came unplugged but it was too heavy for me to pull out to check. I told Tech before he could check the spin load he may have to pull it out and see if it was plugged in. He said he wasn't authorized to do that and took the from of the and said it needed $$$$$ several parts. there was no power coming into the unit. I insisted he checked to make sure it was plugged, Got my husband to help, It wasn't plugged, didnt' need any spare parts in Caught him trying to commit fraud. HE cussed me out and LEFT! Reported him and they said a manager would call me back, Never did. DO NOT let these idiots near your home.

Probably the MOST USELESS appliance company I have ever dealt with. Dryer broke back in January 2. After 4 months, 11 visits (about 80% of which they showed up late, or even better I had one guy show up saying it was for the washer....hmmm...nope...the Dryer, so he had to leave) they realized...oh not sure if we can fix it.

USELESS. Save your money. If your Insurance is making you go with them, REQUEST ANOTHER company. You can do that.

There are more professional appliance companies out there, and you should use them instead of these guys. I had three appliances I called them in for and they sent someone who arrived about 20 minutes late, and when he got here, he didn't bring any tools. He looked at my appliances, said he didn't have the parts and took off without so much as a goodbye. I never got a call back and when I called to find out what happened, they just gave me excuses! Waste of time dealing with them, hire someone competent!

Note: I've been hung up on by their receptionist four times while being extremely polite to her. She doesn't like being asked too many questions, apparently, so save your question for the repair guy.

My appliances are unrepaired and I'm just frustrated at the waste of time this company seems to be.

EDIT: They came back and fixed the appliances and the owner apologized for the poor behavior. I gave them 2 stars back but the owner never followed through with one repair that hasn't been finished in 2 months.

Had to bump this to five stars. Had another problem with our dishwasher. Jason came out and fixed it quickly and inexpensively. Two times he's been out, two GREAT experiences.

Our Fisher and Paykel dishdrawer, super-duper, dishwasher thingy flooded (an F1 Fault if you are currently an owner). We went straight to yelp and the most highly recommended services people in San Francisco do not work on this brand.

We called Fisher and Paykel directly and the recommended we contact Bay Area Appliance. They serve San Francisco and all most surrounding areas, but really only show up as outside SF on Yelp.

Jason, the technician, showed up and was very cool. He showed me how to reset the fault in the future,. He replaced a worn part at no additional cost. He was on time and friendly. In short it was everything you could ask for....EXCEPT cheap.

Total for 30 minutes work was $130! Expensive, but worth it since I will be able to fix this small problem myself the next time. Worth it because I no longer have to wash my dishes by hand. Worth it because my wife is happy (who can put a price on that?!)

The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because of price. Price was much better the second time.
