Steve is the best. I just moved into a new spot with a gnarly old stump that I wanted to remove before I attempt a backyard garden. We chat about the removal on a Friday, he came out to look at it on Saturday morning, could do the work immediately, and had it gone within an hour or so. Fairly priced, efficient, clean, and lovely to work with.

Steve came out and did a great job under difficult cicumstances. The storms had knocked down several trees which were all removed but the stumps remained. A couple of the stumps were over 3 ft wide and hardest of all were located on a steep hill. Steve was able to use ramps to stabilize his machine and wen to town. It took two days but he removed them left the yard in good shape and we are very happy with his work.
I would recommend Bay Area Stump Busters to any body that needs this service.

We had 5 very large stumps (and their roots) that needed to be removed on a multi-tiered rear yard. This job was challenging and about half the companies we contacted said it was too difficult because of the steep slope.

Right off the bat the communication and responsiveness was great with Bay Area Stump Busters. Steve gave us a fair estimate with a comprehensive explanation of the scope of work. On top of that, he was able to start the next week. After the job was done we walked the area and I paid him. What impressed me is that even though he was already paid, he came back 2 weeks later to remove more roots that weren't visible (until I removed the mulch). Now that's standing behind your work!

Overall this is one of the best experiences I've had with a service. Give Steve a call if you're considering removing a stump or roots. It's worth every penny.

I requested quote from Steve via Yelp and within an hour I received a response from him saying he could be at my house that afternoon to look at the tree I wanted removed. When he got to my house he arrived on time and was very personable. He looked at the tree and told me that removing the tree was actually something I could easily do myself so I ended up not needing his services but his honesty speaks volume for the kind of person he is and the work he stands behind. I'm keeping his business card for any work I may need in the future and will be passing his information along to anyone that needs it. Steve, the owner, came to my home within 10 minutes of my call to give an estimate. As it turned out, he was able to do the job on the spot,
which was the removal of a stump more than 2 feet wide at the base.
The machine he used is a monster! But it got it done in no time, roots
and all. After grinding down the stump(s) to smithereens, he raked the
grindings back together with the dirt into the center of where the stump
once stood.
I definitely would recommend this company to anyone who would like
reasonably-priced, efficient, no nonsense, stump removal or tree-cutting
needs. Steve presented very friendly, honest and knowledgeable.
