Bay Area Sustainable Landscaping

BAYLS was professional, punctual and very easy to communicate with from start to finish! We wanted a simple/basic landscaping for our backyard. Turning the corner into a place where we can bbq, add patio furniture and to make the side of our house less of an eye sore and less maintenance. When Danny came to inspect our backyard he noticed our awful looking outdoor restroom which was installed by the previous owners and recommended to build steps so the pipes could be covered up. Even with this recommendation we were still able to stay within our budget!!

We appreciate Dennis for taking the time to recommend different options to help keep us in our budget compared to the other businesses we talked to that week and for turning our vision into reality. Thank you BAYSL team for getting our backyard ready just in time for the summer!

Overhauled my backyard as part of overall reno and during part of this time I was moving in. Needless to say there was a lot going on and the team here were very organized, responsive and very easy to work with, all at a very reasonable price. Project turned out great. Highly recommend!

Danny is an excellent talented landscape architect and paving specialist.
He did our our backyard and laid california pavers, porcelain pavers for a small area and also did the landscaping and lighting on a slope with shifting loose soil.
He did a great job with a price that is no way comparable to any of the other folks who gave us a quote.

Danny and his team are a GREAT contractor. They were able to do a lot of good things. They were the best price for what we wanted, they started within a week, were done in about a week, and never complained about anything - not even once.

Those are good things, but why was Danny great? When the week of work was almost up and after a delay on concrete that never slowed them down. They showed up, ready to go, on Saturday and got the job done.

What makes them truly GREAT though? A small bit was done wrong, and he came the next day to look at it, and fixed it super quickly without even a concern on complaint. We all know good contractors that control the job and finish strong, but what makes GREAT ones is how they handle things that are unexpected or go wrong. Just like Danny did.

Danny did a great job with our complete landscaping remodel. Along the way he suggested many good ideas and was generally very flexible. Danny is also very experienced so his advice during the project was invaluable.

We recently hired BAYSL to help us redo our front yard path, and also add some weed blockers to our front yard. They were extremely professional -- they were timely in their quote, worked with our budget on pricing, and were very quick to get the project started (the next day they had an opening, and we took it!). Danny and Dennis were both very communicative, and their team was respectful and efficient. I was getting texts from neighbors before the work was even done with compliments, and asking for the contact info for whoever we were working with. Highly recommend, I will work with them again!

I can only recommend Bay Area Sustainable Landscaping for their efficient and reliable service. We needed to install a French Drainage to help with water coming from an elevated area of our garden.
The installation was complete within the day and all was executed to our full satisfaction.

BASL has been a complete pleasure to work with. Dennis responded promptly despite a busy calendar and came out to provide an on-site quote. I shared with him a vision for our yard, a place where toddlers could learn to ride bikes safely, while adults could enjoy the sunshine and frankly, not be run over. I gave him the price point we were working with and went to the yard. Dennis quickly offered solutions that were within budget and even an estimated start date. I chose to accept his offer for a couple of reasons: 1. he didn't flinch when I said our price point. so many other contractors acted like they wouldn't even work under $50K; 2. They spoke about not carrying more than a couple of projects at a time, keeping their teams occupied but not distracted; 3. he just seemed to get where we were going and offered solutions we hadn't even considered

The project started, and when we didn't understand what was happening, we reached out and received prompt answers, often via text and email. When either Dennis or Danny had suggestions for upgrades, they shared. Most upgrades, as we were laying loads of concrete, were to help us from tearing up concrete with future projects (laying piping for water and electrical). If corrections needed to be made, Dennis provided clear instructions, and changes were made. He even scheduled some time when the last little bit of concrete was being poured for my daughter to get her hand print done. So sweet!

But the best was the end. Dennis joined us for a walk through at the end of the project. We sat on our new redwood benches and looked across the yard as my toddler and her friend scooted their little cars around. Dennis remarked, "Oh, now this is really cool. This was totally your vision. This is awesome to see". I was pleased, my husband was pleased, the kids were pleased...but when your contractor is even impressed at how everything turned out...it's a win all around.

Project: Retaining wall rebuild, removal and restructure concrete patio, pergola, water and electrical lines through concrete, hand railings, pergola lighting and custom electrical, moving and re positioning AC unit, flower beds, flower boxes, custom redwood benches, and stucco.

To late for the apology. Today is 8/19. That was 18 days ago. ... Ummm this really makes you look bad!
