We are constantly told how helpful and courteous we are, as well as how quickly we respond. We will spend the time on the phone with you to answer your questions. We'll give you our experienced advice on how to most cost effectively and efficiently address your water heater problem. We may also suggest some other creative options you may not be aware of that can ultimately save you money and energy. Tankless water heaters, for example, are approximately 30 percent more efficient, take up very little space and can last up to twice as long as a conventional water heater. As our reviewers have said very thankful for their service, would use them again--that is the service we provide, and we would love to add you to our satisfied customer list. • Q:

Can I get a general ballpark figure of what the cost would be to replace an existing gas water heater with a new gas water heater, including the heater and install? Current one is 70 gallons I believe, but looking to replace with a 40 or 50 gallon.

      A:

Generally $1750-1950 including new flexible water lines new flexible gas line and removal of the old unit. 6 yr warranty on the tank and 1 yr parts and labor. Can usually do same day or next day

Found my 13 year old water heater was leaking on Wednesday, and Bay Area Water Heaters took my call and was able to come out the following morning and replace the entire unit at a affordable cost in about and hour and 20 minutes. The technician was super thoughtful in explaining what he was doing and walked me through the new water heater and purging the pressure in the water system

Would highly recommend this company for quick service.

Emailed and corresponded with multiple water heater companies within the peninsula.

They were quick to give us a competitive and accurate quote. They only have Bradford White water heaters.

Leka showed up at the time window and was able to install the new water heater in about an hour or so. Gave us great instructions to check the faucets and he gave us good advice on maintenance and his opinion about extended warranties etc. He was honest and genuine and did not push extra costs or additions which we appreciated as we had a couple other guys come out and tried to increase our initial estimates.

Overall, if you want a competitive price and honest work, go with this company!

Submitted request for quote due to water heater leaking from drain valve.

Unfortunately, due to its age (15yrs), it made more sense to replace than attempt to repair the unit. Chris was very helpful in providing an estimate over the phone and quoted a price about 10% less than other responding businesses. He was then able to send an installer (Sione) out to my home within an hour with a new 50 gallon Bradford White water heater.

Sione did an absolutely amazing job removing the old unit and installing the new one; taking the time and care to make sure everything was setup properly, answered any questions, and even cleaned up afterwards. Great to see someone take such obvious pride in his work.

Definitely recommend Bay Area Water Heaters if you ever have issues with your water heater!

My tenant texted me early in the morning to tell me that the water heater had died. I found Chris on Yelp and Chris responded very quickly with a fair price and I agreed to have him replace the 40 gallon gas water heater. His person was super knowledgeable about what needed to be done and the replacement was done within 3 hours of my call. I am super happy with the service and would recommend them to anyone needing a water heater replacement

Owner Chris was very responsive to request for quotes and questions. We had put off the replacement as our water heater leak slowed until one Saturday night we were left with cold showers. Sunday afternoon contacted Bay Area as they were yelp guaranteed and provided one of the lower quotes, and scheduled our appointment for Monday morning. Sione B. arrived in the 1-hour time window and was courteous, personable, and answered my questions. He did an excellent job in the installation of a 40 gallon Bradford White tank and communicating through on options and adjustments to the current setup. He was done in 1.5 hours and walked us through getting the air out of the lines and said we'd have hot water in an hour (my son couldn't wait and was able to get warm water during his shower!). We appreciate how Bay Area Water Heaters handled everything so smoothly.

I called Bay Area Water Heaters around 8 PM the same day that our water heater broke. I spoke with a man named Chris and told him the pilot light was out and that we'd love to have someone come out and look at it.

After receiving the serial number and model of our water heater, Chris informed us that our water heater was 11 years old and that the typical lifespan was 12 years. He immediately recommended that we just replace it instead of trying to fix it. I was nervous to agree to it before someone came out and looked at it, but felt like it was the most efficient use of time and money to just get it replaced. We agreed for a window around 11-1.

Later that night I got a text adjusting the window to 8:30-9:30. I said it was great as long as I was alerted prior to arrival so I could ensure the dogs were put away. I think there was a miss in communication because our water heater guy, Sione, came around 8:10 and rang the doorbell and set the dogs off. Totally not Sione's fault - he was really fantastic and so nice!

Sione was efficient and explained everything he was going to do. Installment went quickly, I paid, and he was on his way. Sione asked me several times if there was any more info I needed but the one thing I forgot to ask was why our water heater broke in the first place. I texted Chris later in the evening and Chris let me know it was because there was a small leak.

The warranty is for 6 years, and Sione included a pan in case of future leakages since our stand for the water heater isn't the greatest. They haul away the old one and recycle it for you, and overall I paid around $1900, including a 3% credit card service fee.

Overall, super responsive, OK communication, REALLY nice staff and service people, and im so grateful they came quickly and we have hot water again!! Will recommend this company to any one with water heater issues!

Great service overall - quick response by Chris and Tony was out ready to install within 90 min or so. Added an overflow pan and line to the room drain, new gas valve, etc. Very happy with the heater, installation and team. Highly recommend. Thanks guys!

Bay Area Water Heaters deserves its 5-star Yelp rating. I initially contacted several plumbers via Yelp yesterday. Bay Area Water Heaters was the first to respond (in less than a minute!) and had a reasonable up-front price to replace a 10 year old water heater that had failed. Chris was the one with whom I interacted for the price quote and to schedule the work. The work was scheduled for the next morning (with the arrangement made in the afternoon of the day before the work)  They are very responsive and reasonable.

Some vendors replied saying that they needed an in-person visit to give a price quote. That is just an opportunity to get the customer to agree on the spot and under pressure to a sales pitch. I won't deal with that sort of company. I understand that conditions on-site might need to be addressed at higher costs, but it is still possible to quote a range of prices.

The Yelp service to reach out to different contractors for a project is great!

Bay Area Water Heaters did quote a price range (about $200 between the low and high price). When Dave and his crew arrived on site, there was a small ($50) increase to the high price of the estimate, but it was explained by Dave and I accepted it. There was also a discount for paying in cash (and an extra charge for paying by credit card). I went to the bank and got the cash while they were working.

The work was done competently and the new water heater was installed in around an hour.
