Bay Street is experiencing a resurgence, driven by a vibrant new wave of eateries that are bringing life back to the area. Pippal's authentic regional Indian cuisine, Flores's upscale Mexican dishes, and Saucy Asian and Arthur Mac's snack from Oakland are all adding to the culinary appeal. While the shopping scene remains somewhat limited, with essentials like Uniqlo, Sephora, the Apple Store, and West Elm, it's clear that dining is becoming the main attraction.

However, the parking situation is a significant drawback. The need to use an app, input your license number, and deal with the general inconvenience makes a quick visit stressful and takes away from the overall experience. This hassle, especially in comparison to the vibrant dining options, is a notable downside, and one that understandably causes hesitation about returning, even with the exciting prospect of the upcoming Tokyo Central Market.

Scan QR code to park. 30 min free, additional $1.5/h. It will text you when time is almost up, you can extend it on phone.
Security car drives around and visible. It does give me a peace of mind.

I remember Bay Street bustling with people visiting Forever 21, H&M, AMC and food shops. There were live music events throughout the summer where families with young children hung out until 8pm back in 2021.

      Fast forward to 2024.

Most big retailers have left. The police no longer use small cars to patrol it, rather SUVs with ram guards. Only stores worth visiting that I could see were Apple and a hot pot shop that looked interesting.

It currently looks like it won't last another 5 years.

Enjoy spring nights at bay street every weekend during the month of April. This past Saturday, we were able to check out this night market featuring a bit of art, music, and various vendors... but mainly music (the other offerings, which included jewelry and keychains, were scarce). The live music was all I really needed, the musicians on stage were a band I'm familiar with (The Illiance), regular performers at venues in my hometown SJ, and they always bring good vibes, so it was a nice surprise.

Just a laid back family-friendly environment at Bay Street Emeryville on this sunny but chilly afternoon. I've been here many times and it's had its good and bad days. This entertainment and shopping center seems to always be changing with businesses coming and going. Currently, my favorite spots here are Sandbox VR and Barnes & Noble (positive experiences at these businesses), but their other offerings, like Tipsy Putt and Bay Street Games are cool too. I'm not a big fan of the AMC Theater here though (many AMC theaters in general are actually quite disappointing). There are plenty of shops here to satisfy needs for clothing, accessories, or health products, and even an upcoming grocery store, according to their website.

The eateries are pretty decent and not just common chains, which I like. We picked up some delicious chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels from Dipped, and hung out in the bay break dining terrace upstairs for an hour or so, while enjoying the entertainment below. And there was a lot of diverse seating around the second level bar area, with ample outdoor heaters for comfort on a colder day. Parking was also easy and affordable in the dedicated garage, which you pay on the machines using a parking space number (no tickets as they did in the past).

Such a nice date spot! We went on a perfect sunny breezy day. I like the live music and assortment of shops on the strip. The pop-up vendors were cute as well. I would recommend stopping by if you have a hotel near by in walking distance. They have Uniqlo, Barnes and noble, etc. and a mini so coming soon!

Construction is still underway but this is turning into a cute space. Shake shack, Humphrey slocombe, and Arthur Mac's little snack are among the new additions.

They also have lots of games, seating, outdoor fire pits, heating lamps, and photo spots to revamp the space. Looking forward to what it'll become when it's done, I hope it lasts.

Bay street has become sketchy IMO. parking is always a hassle with the new app and the scanning requirements at the movie theater. Which never works easily or properly btw. Workers at bay street appear apathetic , distracted and uninterested in being there . I don't enjoy going there anymore . Selection is limited . There is no value whatsoever IMO . It's become a deadzone and a pit .

Have tried Ichiwa Ramen and Pippal now too and had great meals in both places. Pippal is a nice date spot.

Come here and get shot. Tonight I came in for a quick meal and ended up walking into a shooting scene. Hundreds, maybe a thousand young people. Gunshots fire. Over a hundred police officers. The good news, I didn't have to pay for parking.

This mall is incredible. Beautiful, full of amazing new restaurants and the best management team ever. My daughter has special needs and is about to have heart surgery and they made her the most thoughtful gift basket and got her to secure tickets to an incredible experience for kids they were having. Christa in marketing is so sweet and behind all this kindness.

I went to BayStreet to pickup a burger at Shake Shack to go. You get 30 minutes free parking so I figure that should be plenty of time to get something quick. Well there was a problem with my food. I ordered at 1:10PM and didn't actually get it until 1:52 PM. I was annoyed, but whatever delays happen. But what really made me angry was walking back to a parking ticket. 30 minutes should be plenty of time to pick up a burger, but because there was a delay, I get a parking ticket on top of it.

This is an absolute terrible user experience and I am never coming back here again. If I want to watch a movie, I'll just go to Grand Lake. If I want to get a bite to eat, I'll just go to Publix where parking is free. Every time you guys issue a parking ticket you are almost guaranteeing a customer isn't going to come back again.
