John and his team do excellent and timely work. After dealing with so many power outages, I wanted to find a way to hook a backup generator to my house's electrical panel. John provided an affordable solution (relative to battery options or generac) and was able to install a transfer switch that a portable generator can hook up to. When I had problems figuring out how to hook up the generator to the house, John came out again and showed me how to get things running free of charge. Will definitely use again.

I had work done to rewire for an induction range and to add an outlet for electric car charging. John is honest and will come back to make sure the job was done to his standards. Those are probably the two things I value most - honesty and providing a good service.

TL;DR: They are dishonest and you probably will end up paying much more than you expected.

10/12/2022 My response to the owner's reply. 

1. She said that Juan Coronel goes by John. However, the full name of John I worked with is John Martinez. I attached the invoice I received from them. It has the names of all the people I worked with on it (I cover the last names of irrelevant people for their privacy). 

It is surprising to know Juan and John are the same person even though their full names are completely different. This is another sign of how *non-transparent* they are. I will inquire with the Contractor State License Board of California about this to see if this is legal. 

And even if this is TRUE, John is not the person who did the actual installation. He only showed up on the first day when we signed the contract and during the final inspection. The remaining work is done by another group of people. This is mentioned in other Yelp reviews as well.

2. The owner said my idea of negotiation was not to pay at all. This is NOT true. I did refuse to pay the first time they told me about the extra because I was shocked and confused. However, I offered to pay $300 after I received a copy of the receipts. (I also attach a screenshot of the email as proof.) But they didn't reply for a month. The reason why we didn't discuss more during this month is that the final inspection didn't pass the first time and I was waiting for them to come back to address the issues.

Below is the detailed timeline. I offered to pay about 1/3 of the extra charge (~$300) about 1 week after they told me the extra charge. And they never replied.

08/23 - Job completion. John mentioned the extra charge the first time. I refused to pay.
08/30 - I talked to Tierza on the phone about this issue for the first time. She started threatening about putting me into debt collection. I told her to send me the receipts. 
09/01 - I got some questions about the receipts and Tierza replied. I told her I wanted to pay $300 to settle it. But she never replies. (see screenshot 2)
10/11 - They passed the final inspection and we discussed the charge. Again Tierza threatened to put me into debt collection.

This again shows how *dishonest* the owner is.

I highly recommend Bayshore Electric. John Martinez upgraded and moved our electric panel to another side of the house. We were very happy to meet John, he is very efficient, punctual and reasonable. The job was done quickly and efficiently. We just had to wait for PG&E to connect the wires. Patience paid off.
