PORT MONMOUTH: Bayshore Waterfront Park is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and dog friendly!

Bring your leashed pup all-year-round to romp on the beach with perfect views of the Raritan Bay, Sandy Hook, and the NYC skyline.

There is a long pier to walk out and hear the water lapping by beside you. Enjoy the natural floral and fauna surrounding the beach.

There is also a historic building on the property.

Nice quiet beach. Love that it is free, there is parking, and dogs allowed :) There are a ton of bugs though, I got bit like crazy. There were also some dead seagulls and tons of horseshoe crabs.

This is probably the best dog friendly beach we've been to so far. Not crowded at all and beach was pretty clean. Free parking and free beach access. Bathrooms available, not port a potties. Bathrooms weren't the best but not the worst I've seen. Would come here again and would recommend

This park/ beach is great for being able to bring your dog! We learned about it on Yelp. Its fairly close to Sandy Hook. Although the beach is not as nice as Sandy Hook, it does have some big advantages that will keep us returning.

First of all, it is pet friendly! Our guy really enjoyed playing in the sand, although he was too chicken to get into the water. There was also a lot of parking (at least when we visited) which was free and really close to the beach, so it was super convenient. Beach was not crowded at all either.

I guess you can't beat free. The water here does not seem clean, but plenty of people were swimming with their kids. Keep in mind there's no lifeguards, so not only does swimming seem unsavory but also dangerous.

What I do like about this park is that it seems like a nice place for a hike. There's a fairly long stretch of beach as well as a pier to keep you occupied. It's also good for boat watching and you can see the ships pulling into the bay. Don't expect a serious beach experience and you'll be alright.

I arrived here at 5:30 am and stayed till 7 am, watching the entire sunrise. I had the entire beach to myself. Very peaceful and relaxing. The view was breathtaking. The pictures turned out great but it was even better to see it in person.

Its something about this place that I find so relaxing. Hidden away in Port Monmouth with fantastic views of NYC. Love to walk along the beach and watch the fisherman on the pier. If you walk to the end you can watch the fishing boats going out to sea. Perfect spot for a family picture on the beach.

A hidden gem in NJ. They're dog friendly and we had a great time walking and swimming. Clean sand, water, and not packed even on 4th of July!

I recently discovered this beach, and brought my grand kids for a day. It was a delightful beach. The water looked clean, just had some seaweed, but otherwise looked nice that day. The beach itself was perfect. Not crowded and had public rest rooms. Easy to park and a short walk to the beach. Also its free and you can bring your dog too!
