Are dogs allowed on the patio / outdoor eating area?

      A:

I saw dogs on the patio while I was there and no one said anything, it seemed friendly. I'd give them a call to confirm but it seems if the dog is social and well behaved it wouldn't be an issue.

Do you have a vegetarian plate, something like the beef kebab sides but with Falafel or Halumi as protein options? A lot of people would like a vegetarian plate of food, not millions dishes. Please consider a vegetarian plate with all the lil sides.

      A:

Yes, you can order the Falafel Plate. Not listed on the menu, buts it’s the beef kebab plate but with five falafels instead of 3 kebabs. $16

I recently checked out Beit Rama, and here's the scoop on what I tried:

The mezze sampler was a great start. It came with a bunch of different small plates--hummus, baba ghanoush, falafels. Everything was fresh and tasty. The hummus was creamy and had just the right amount of garlic, the baba ghanoush had a nice smoky flavor, and the tabbouleh was bright and refreshing. The dolmas were packed with flavor and perfectly tender.

The hanger steak was spot-on. It was cooked just right--medium-rare, with a nice sear on the outside and juicy inside. The seasoning was great, and the chimichurri sauce added a fresh kick.

The chicken shish tawook plate was another win. The chicken skewers were tender and juicy, with a flavorful marinade. The rice was fluffy, the salad was crisp, and the garlic sauce on the side was a nice touch.

Beit Rama is a solid choice for Mediterranean food. The mezze sampler is a must-try, and both the steak and chicken dishes were delicious. The vibe is casual, the service was friendly, and it made for a pretty enjoyable meal. If you're into Mediterranean flavors, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Met up with some friends for lunch at 12 pm and we got a table inside for our group of 4 as luckily the lunch rush hadn't started yet. After looking at the menu, we ordered with the cashier in the back and items came out one after another.

Shakshuka - Love ordering this when we eat it in person and it is so comforting. It comes out in a skillet which keeps the dish hot and the spices, tomato and pepper are a warming blend of flavors. We opted to add cheese this time that cut through with a nice texture. Our egg was a little overcooked this time so we missed the runniness of the poached egg and it doesn't state that it doesn't come with pita so we had to purchase some on the side.

Chicken Shish Tawook Plate - My favorite dish to order! It comes with 3 chicken kabobs, grilled tomatoes, onions, rice, hummus and half a pita which is very filling. The chicken is the star of the dish: so soft, juicy and topped with a creamy yogurt sauce that contrasts its smokiness. The rice has flavor in itself and it creates a harmony of flavor when eaten all together. The hummus also has a great tanginess and is so smooth, pairing well with their pita.

The restaurant does get pretty busy during popular times so be prepared for a short wait and it is still very good when ordered to go. An amazing restaurant to get some Arabic comfort food!

Very tasty shish tawook (chicken kebab), with large portion. The entree came with pita bread, hummus, and rice. It also came with pickled turnips, which is very authentic for Arabic food. Food was very good.

The chicken had a nice flavor, and the toum (garlic sauce) went well with it. I took half of the food home and it made two meals for me.

The service was friendly, and they were quick to bring out water for us after ordering. It was very casual and a good experience when we went for lunch on a weekday.

The restaurant was clean and there was no overly loud music. It is small but on Wednesday around lunchtime it was not too busy. We immediately got a seat. The bathroom was clean as well and smelled of cleaner. A plus. Outside seating was available and seemed pleasant, though we sat inside.

I would 100% go back. Tip: the beef kebab is kind of like a kofta, so be aware when you order it.

My constructive criticism for the restaurant is that they should include a salad with the plates. I wanted something fresh and didn't get it with my meal. I didn't really want to order an entire side salad. Still, food was great.

Wow, some of the best Middle Eastern food I've ever had, in a warm and welcoming environment. Good indoor and outdoor seating, and we liked being able to order and pay before sitting down.
We absolutely adored the mezza sampler, all the spreads were so fresh and flavorful. The naan it came with was deliciously fresh and a bit charred- perfect. Our mains were the lamb and the chicken. The lamb meat slid off the bone, it was incredibly tender and the flavor was perfection. The couscous and sauce were cooked well, along with the rice it came with. The chicken was also cooked perfectly, and we appreciated the naan it came with.
      Will definitely be back here!

Arabic food is easily one of my favorite cuisines, and Beit Rima is one of the best such options in the city.

For two, I always share the MEZZE SAMPLER ($21), CHICKEN SHISH TAWOOK PLATE ($22), and SAMIR'S HAND-KNEADED BREAD ($6), which pair perfectly together. The dips are definitely the star, and I enjoy every single one, but the hand-kneaded bread in particular (which is beautifully puffy and seasoned with zaa'tar) elevates them and makes the sampler so much more fun to eat, especially because the provided serving of pita always feels insufficient. The chicken is less exciting but very moist, seasoned dark meat, and comes with tasty rice that mixes well with the hummus. I've also had the lamb, which was super tender:

I've luckily never had to wait, and generally I've seen the Yelp waitlist helps keep things manageable even when there is a line. However, during my most recent visit, we were starving and thus done within 20 minutes, such that neighboring tables that had already been served when we arrived were still eating. Our waiter nonetheless directly asked us to pay and leave immediately upon finishing because there were a few guests waiting, which was a bit off-putting (especially given it was freezing outside and we had to find somewhere else to kill 10 minutes before our show).

The food here was absolutely delicious! This was one of those meals where no matter how full you were, you wanted to find the room in your stomach because putting the fork down was not an option. We thoroughly enjoyed what we ate and already talked about going back to try more just moments after we wobbled out of there.

The portions were pretty big, we ordered the Mezze sampler, Samir's hand kneaded bread, and a Chicken shish tawook plate to share amongst two of us and we left absolutely stuffed. I was worried one entree wouldn't be enough to share, but it was plenty.

The Mezze sampler was so wonderful. We loved everything on the plate and couldn't even pick a favorite because each of us were tied between two of the dips, and liked a number of the dips as combos. Even though it came with pita, we also tried Samir's hand kneaded bread, which was very flavorful from the spice blend. Despite the bread being good, I'd probably skip it next time if doing the sampler to save room for the entree.

The chicken shish tawook plate came with hummus, some of the most delicious rice I've had in awhile, pita, and some pickled veggies. It was all flavorful and went together so nicely. I would without a doubt get this again, and wouldn't be mad if I had to eat this every week.

Despite being on the N train line, the atmosphere outside still feels quaint and romantic. The dim lighting, string lights above the entrance, small tables, and fire heaters give it an intimate feeling perfect for a date night. Inside was a little on the louder side, but still a nice place to dine.

You order inside at the counter, then the food is brought out to you. Despite not having a dedicated server, service was still quick and it was easy to get someone's attention.

Food was fresh and the meat was tender! Rice was buttery and saucy, which was a first for me! The service was fast, but I also went during a time where there weren't a lot of people, but the server was nice. The ambiance was very pleasant, I loved the decor and vibe!

This place is cute and charming. The food is great, feels home made and authentic. The service is just okay, I wasn't blown out of the water. The wait times are honestly not worth it. It takes 30 minutes to get your food when the restaurant isn't fully packed.

INCREDIBLE lunch in Haight-Ashbury!! My group split the mezze platter appetizer, chicken shish, and fattoush. The dips and pita were delicious, the chicken was juicy but not greasy, and the fattoush was maybe the best salad I've ever had. The crispy pieces (maybe crispy pita??) were wonderful and the dates made this dish remarkable. The chicken came with 3 skewers which was plenty for us.

The food came a bit slow, but otherwise it was a lovely afternoon in an adorable part of town! Would highly recommend.

My best friend highly spoke of Beit Rima and took us here for lunch. She talked about how dreamy her meal was and now I know why!

This is the second location of Beit Rima. The restaurant is cozy and rustic with limited indoor and outdoor seating. Service is friendly and no-frills as you order at the counter and they bring items out to you. Our dishes arrived staggered but fairly fast.

Arabic comfort food is how it's described, and that's what we got! Shakshuka and an a la carte Falafel for me and the Chicken Shish Tawook Plate for her! My Shakshuka was well-spiced, roasted from the tomatoes, and warm and earthy! The falafel was savory, crunchy, and well-made. My friend loved her chicken dish and after having a bite I found it moist and flavorful.

I'd recommend anyone interested or a fan of Arabic food to try Beit Rima. Casual and delicious in the heart of Cole Valley with neighborhood parking in the area.
