Better Care Appliance Repair

I have an old mechanical Maytag washing machine that is probably from the late 1970s or early 1980s. It was here when I bought my house 30 years ago and it has been a reliable workhorse for me. I like it a lot and have done everything I can to keep it running over the years. They don't make them like this anymore, and I absolutely hate the new electronic ones (I've used them in Airbnbs when I travel -- most of the time they are awful and take forever to do one load of laundry -- not to mention, they break very easily).

Well, recently my washing machine stopped draining the water during the spin cycle. I called Better Care Appliance Repair via a recommendation on NextDoor. They responded to my call immediately and a technician came out in a few hours. He diagnosed the problem as the pump. The next day, he came back with a new pump and installed it. Viola, the machine works perfectly again!

I am so grateful that the technician not only understood how to fix it, but was willing to fix it. I had called a few other places who refused, telling me to just buy a new washing machine. I didn't want to do that unless my trusty old Maytag was totally unrepairable!
