Uptown location should rename to Crab Apple.
Lost business. After asking to get the battery for my particular phone in, I got home and rethought. Why would I give business to a place with such disdain for me. Phoned another place in Vic. Phone working again and quite happy with the customer service at the competitors.

Replaced a battery in my daughters iPhone 7 (she's only 8, so this phone is sufficient enough for her needs.) It cost $90 and after charging it for the first time the phone got so hot my daughter screamed and dropped the phone. Also it smells funny now too! I don't plan to go back here. Overpriced and they can't even get a battery replacement done right

My New Years resolution for 2021- wishing to distance myself from the dumpster fire which was 2020 - was to be generally more positive, and leave negativity for only the most rare and necessary of occasions.

This is one of those rare and necessary occasions.

My iPod classic was working fine, but required a new battery as the old one wasn't holding its charge for long. I bought a replacement battery online. When it arrived I determined it would be too difficult for me to install without the right tools. After calling a few local businesses, I found BlackApple, a local business offering "legendary service". I called ahead and asked if they could do the required work, and was told they could. A day later I brought my iPod and the battery, and the man behind the counter tole me to return in an hour. Sixty minutes later I did, indeed, return, to learn that not only was the battery not replaced but he hadn't even successfully separated the case. He did, however, break the display screen in the attempt, and bent the living hell out of the back casing.

Okay, fair enough. Accidents happen. I wasn't angry. The guy said they would replace the unit with a similar or better model, transfer all the data from unit to unit, and even return the broken iPod, "in about a week". A good solution, all things considered, even though the expectation as I would pay half the cost of the replacement iPod. Even though I didn't think it was reasonable for me to pay anything at this point I agreed, only to get the process over with.

A week passed, and no call from BlackApple.

A second week passed and no call from BlackApple. No response to my email inquiries.

I went by the store to find out what was going on. the replacement iPod was "at a different location" and would be ready in a couple of days.

A week passed and no call from BlackApple. Remember earlier when I said I wasn't angry? I'm angry at this point. I called them on Saturday and said, ready or not, I would return on Monday to take my old iPod back and have someone else fix it.

When I arrived on Monday my iPod was in exactly the same condition as the day the guy broke it. They hadn't done anything. The replacement unit was nowhere to be seen. Why? Because they hadn't actually sourced a replacement. I guess by telling me it was "in a different location", what they meant was "in their imagination". When I said I wanted my old unit back a different guy behind the counter said "you've waited this long, why not leave it for a couple more days and we'll fix it?". He also confessed that they hadn't actually found a replacement unit when they originally told me they had, but now they had.

Confused? Me too. I'm not sure how defamation law works so I don't know if I could be in trouble for saying the staff at BlackApple repeatedly lied to me, so I won't say that.

What began as a simple, $30 charge for replacing a battery has now ballooned to a two-month, $170 adventure involving shipping my iPod to/from an actual technician out of town who actually knows how to repair iPods. I made a sincere effort to support a local business in this time of austerity, but got severely rooked in the process.

Am I angry they broke the iPod while trying to service it? No. Accidents happen (although I think it's not a wise business move to accept work you suspect you cannot perform). I am angry about being given the runaround for a month for no reason, and experiencing piss-poor customer service from day two.

Don't bring your device to these guys. I wouldn't trust them to mail a letter, let alone repair an electronic device.

Blackapple couldn't repair my iPad and didn't return all the parts. Took it to another repair shop and they had no problem fixing it. The only issues the second shop had was sourcing the missing parts Blackapple didn't return. Blackapple charged me for labour, fair enough, but later found out other stores have a policy of not charging if they can't repair the item. When Blackapple told me they couldn't repair the iPad, I definitely felt pressured by them to give them the iPad since they were adamant it couldn't be repaired and was worthless. Their demeanor changed when I insisted on taking back the iPad.

Went to the Uptown location to get my iPhone battery replaced. Called in advance to ask if they had the right kind of battery; they said the would have some in the next day, and to come in any time, no appointment needed. I showed up the next morning, only to be informed that the batteries would not be arriving until 2pm, forcing me to leave and come back again later. I specifically called in advance to avoid this kind of thing happening; this was simply a waste of time. Inconsistent and unprofessional service.

When I came back, battery was promptly replaced within 15 minutes and seems to be working well; so no complaints (so far) regarding the actual work that got done. But as a professional with a busy schedule I do not appreciate my time being wasted. I would not particularly recommend this business to anyone.

My story starts last july when i dropped my motorola g fast off for a screen replacement. They said it would take some time so i bought a Samsung A02 because i could not do without a phone.
Two week later after not hearing from them, i inquired about the status of the phone, and was told the screen wasnt in and they would call me when it was......fast forward 6 months and i called again, and again they said they couldn't seem to get it and they would call me when it was in.... fast forward to July 8th.... when i called and let the guy know i left it there a year ago and i've not heard a thing and now i want to know why... .the new manager of a few months suggested it was my problem for leaving it there a year ago... i told him this wasn't my fault and it is quite embarrassing for him to have done nothing about getting my phone fixed.
I told him i was going to look to see if the screen is available online and he better find one before me, or this would look horribly on them.
He called me the next day to tell me it was fixed and i could pick it up anytime.
Today i went in to pay for the repair and discuss the situation with him.
I kept my cool but was very straight forward and paid my bill. I made my way home only to find the sim card tray missing from my phone. I called and spoke the manager and he told me he noticed it and said he looked for the tray, but couldn't find it......
I told him he is paying for the replacement tray and i am deeply saddened that he kept that from me, knowing i would clearly find out.
This is despicable behavior and shows this person has zero integrity.
This guy needs a serious talking to by his superior.
I will no longer use this company.

I had a problem with my cell phone locking. I popped into Blackapple on a Saturday, and Nawad helped me immediately. He fixed it in three minutes and was kind enough not to charge me. Excellent service. I will be going back!

This place is great, until things go south. Then, you're on your own. I needed my charging port replaced. By the time they were done, they had reset my password (seriously?!) and used the incorrect port (now I only get slow charging). I had to factory reset the phone since they had no idea of what password they have set the phone, loosing all my photos and data. I waited three weeks to write this review to give them a chance to follow up, as they had promised. I never heard back from them. So feel free to use their service, just know that if things go wrong, they will not take responsibility.

Absolute trash of a buisness. I genuinely hope they go under. I have had my phone "repaired" in the past with no actual Improvements on the screen replacement and just recently my brother had his phone screen attempted to be repaired. The day he got the replacement the screen started glitching and obviously had screen connection problems from the moment we left the shop. We had gone in the same day to have them repair the problems with the screen and they had told us to come back in another time as they were "very busy". We came back with the defected screen a week after with a little crack on the top right and was told we had to spend another 120 to get a new one as well as possible a new inspection charge!?!? Stupid as hell. I could have done the repairs myself with a repair kit from Amazon for 40 bucks instead of spending 220... I highly advise against this buisness.
