The chicken wings were unlike anything I've had in a Korean restaurant but they were good. Three stars because they charge extra for kimchi; shame.

      Pleasant staff.

chinese korean infused establishment; not the best or worst service but i do think the food was kinda mid for the prices!! overall satisfactory to relieve my hunger but wasn't memorable or delicious enough for such portions/ price... no long waitlist or lines on the weekend, which could be a positive ~ ma ma dae

Sometimes their food doesnt taste consistent and even portion is different depends on which day I order.

Probably the main chef doesnt work on sundays ans tuesdays?

Sweet and spicy chicken was $26 and had like ten small pieces..,..

Robson St. is known for having a LOT of Korean restaurants. Besides the always popular ones like Sura and Tabom, I find that I generally gloss over the other ones that are less flashy. Thankfully, my friend is more savvy at navigating through various Korean places so she took me to BK restaurant.

What we ordered: Spicy Soy Chicken for Regular) and The Original

The food: The original jjajangmyeon was the best one I've had out of the handful I've tried in other places. The noodles were fresh and chewy; the sauce was amazing. The soy chicken was very similar to the sweet and sour pork dishes served in other places. The chicken was crisp, and the sauce that coated it was deliciously sweet/sour.

Service: Apparently this place gets pretty busy sometimes, but we came here at 4:30pm on Sunday so it was definitely not rush hour. Service was quite quick and the food was freshly made.

      Definitely coming back!

I ordered a small Galbi (which is BBQ Shortribs) for myself. Portion was not bad for $17. It comes with soup and rice. However, I had better ones in the past. There seems to be too much sauce for some reason. Not too much of a rich BBQ flavor to it. Overall, it wasn't bad.

As well for the side. They have the sweet and sour vinegar onion and this yellow thing (which I have no idea what it is). The place has people inside but not crazy busy.

Only fall back is that the ice water is served in plastic red cups. I have something about plastic cups.

As well if you dine in, you get 20 mins of free Karaoke.

Restaurant is located off of Robson and so parking can be a pain at times. But at night most restaruants are closed except the Korean places open late.

To be honest, I've had much better jja jang myun (black bean sauce noodles) and jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) elsewhere. But what can't be beat is the lunch special. For $11ish, you get either jja jang myun or jjambbong plus chicken/veggie stirfry, gyoza or tang soo yuk (Korean sweet and sour pork), along with kimchi and pickled yellow daikon.

The food was alright; a little greasy, but it adequately satisfied my craving for Korean food. You can tell that the ingredients are not high quality, nor were they prepared with love, but it is standard Korean fare for a decent price, especially considering its location on Robson.

The service was decent, but something to note is that the booths were pretty cramped. Try to get seated at a table in the main seating area if you can!

When I'm traveling with parents, particularly my dad, we must always visit a Korean restaurant. He will seek out a Korean place no matter what. Vancouver was easy since there's a Korean community here so let's begin. Usually when the family needs to make a quick pit stop to gets its Korean food fix, I don't expect much because 1) we're far away from LA Koreatown 2) it's just a typical restaurant that isn't famous for a particular dish.

I don't think this place is amazing, but I was pleasantly surprised that the Korean Chinese dishes hit the spot and I left satisfied. The main 2 noodle dishes in Korean Chinese cuisine are Jjam-bbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and Jja-Jja-Myeon (black bean sauce noodles). Another dish I adore is Tangsuyuk (sweet & sour pork or beef), which is fried beef or pork in a sweet & sour sauce -- that shit was awesome as a kid and still awesome for me today.

My sister was the outcast in our group and ordered a regular Korean dish, bibimbap . It's mixed vegetables and meat on top of white rice that you mixed together. She told me that it was bland. I told her that I believe her. If a place can't make a simple Korean dish taste decently good, then yeah...I'm just recommend you to get the Korean Chinese dishes all day long. It's interesting for a Korean (me) to recommend Korean Chinese dishes over KOREAN dishes that Koreans (the restaurant) should be awesome at making. Fill me in please. I'm intrigued.

I don't know why I only took a picture of the fried dumplings we ordered and not the rest of the dishes. Err enjoy! I present to you my photographic essay: "fried dumplings, a memento"

      # This is a Korean Chinese restaurant = Koreanified Chinese food. Koreans taking Chinese food and making it their own. Just like how Americans grabbed Chinese food by the gooseneck and turned it into Panda Express.

      # Don't order anything else except for the Korean Chinese dishes like Jjam-bbong (spicy seafood noodle soup), Jja-Jja-Myeon (sweet & sour pork or beef), and Tangsuyuk (sweet & sour pork or beef).

      # If you're not Korean (most likely) and you don't know what to order, I would recommend to get the Jja-Jja-Myeon and Tangsuyuk. Those 2 dishes are good and the safest bets for you. I wouldn't venture outside of that unless you've been to Korean Chinese restaurants before and know what you want.

This review is for their Karaoke:

Their karaoke is really nice. They have updated equipments. The tvs are flat screen and big and the mics are wireless and produces sharp clear sounds with no buzzing. The karaoke rooms are quite big, maybe enough for 6 people. Their is also a table where you can eat while singing. They dont have mic covers though, so thats a minus. Their korean songlist is updated, but im not sure about western songs though(I only sing korean songs). If you follow their instructions on using the remote, you wont have a hard time. Overall, their karaoke rooms is a definite reccomend. Also, if you come before 4pm, you get 50% off on karaoke.

This place is great for the jajang myun (black bean noodles) lunch set. For $13, you get a huge bowl of noodles, sweet and sour pork, chicken and vegetables, potstickers, kimchee and radish. That's a seriously good deal and it's delicious too!! Bring your appetite because it's a big meal! We left happy and full.

This place is pretty solidly a 3, but if I'm feeling a little generous a 3.5. In the midst of Vancouver's Koreatown, I feel like this place doesn't quite offer anything really special but serves its intended purpose well.

The location is a lot smaller than it looks from the outside, this is also though because is its half restaurant half karaoke rooms. The decor is very typically Asian with lanterns and a red and black color scheme, but it kind of works in its own way, if maybe a bit overdoing it. The atmosphere just works though, it's that kind of lively but not too lively...like just the sounds of people having a good time eating out.

This was my first time ever having these dishes so I can't comment too much on quality but I personally enjoyed the jajangmyeon. I thought it was an interesting flavor and dish. I do wish they had put less onions though, there were just way too many to be normal. The sweet and sour pork appetizer was also pretty good but not really out of this world. The pork was especially dry and the sweet and sour sauce was okay. I noticed an earlier review that said the portions here were small but I find that they are very well sized and even a bit on the generous side.

In regards to service, everyone was quite nice and understanding. My water was constantly filled which is a really good sign since I usually drink a lot of water at restaurants.
