      *Wear DARK clothing!!*

Now this place is something! You gotta know what you're getting yourself into when you come here, and need to have a very open mind. There is a lot of wildness going on here, and a lot of great people to be met!

Be cool as hell, and you will have a very good time.
Be closed-minded, and you are going to have a very bad time. Also, guard your phones and wallets, because there have been a lot of thefts here.

You'll find a little bit of everything here. And I mean EVERYTHING. This club is welcome to all walks of life, so which one will you be?

Lemme tell you a story: I knew a guy who came here wearing white pants. White. Pants... just let that soak in for a minute. He ended the night with a shoe print on his thigh. The entire bottom of someone's shoe was imprinted on his thigh. How do you ask? Well, if you haven't been, then you will quickly find out. That's the kind of wickedness you can expect here.

      Have fun :D

This review is for the 6/25/20 Pride dance party w/DJ Adriana A. Virtual event on Twitch. First learned of Bootie Mashup thru an invite from Megan R, CM Los Angeles. So much fun, non-judgmental vibe, danced with my dog to the great music in my living room. Thanks Yelp for enriching my life I really needed this especially during these isolating times. Will tune in again soon.

I've heard about Bootie for years and have never gone. Hot spots for me and my friends were Temple, Ruby Skype (RIP), 1015, etc. So I was pretty excited that my friends friend was planning a trip out there for Dranksgiving!

We ordered tickets online for $15 ($18 including fee) day of... Well more like a few hours before. We got to the venue a little before 11pm and it was pretty empty. The nice part about that was the bar wasn't crowded! They take card and the drinks were pretty strong! My bf got me a tequila sunrise and he got the Moscow mule.

The dj mixing that night did such a great job! He got all the popular Selena Gomez songs mashed with edm oldies from 2013 our group has such a fun time.

Fast forward to a few hours later... My bf and I got hungry, so we went to the pizza place conveniently next door! It was about $4 a slice.

We went back on to the dance floor and that's when I checked my purse and my Pixel (I've had it for one week at this point) wasn't there.... I remembered the last photo I took of my Pixel was the pizza... (To post to Yelp lol) so I jotted over there and the cashier didn't have it. So he said to ask the front of bootie. Then the front had someone who actually walked me to the upstairs area where the coat check is and HALLELUJAH it was there. The people who work here are amazing

Shake that THANG yan Donna Donna!
Look Sean Paul was already singing about me and Bootie back in 2002! And now it's come to a full bootie circle in 2017 ;)

Although I lived in SF 2 years ago, I've never heard/been to Bootie SF.
      Shame. On. Me. Cersei-style.

I was invited twice to Bootie SF by my dashing handsome date. STOKED to find out it was a mash-up club featuring smash hits and eclectic music tastes in different theme rooms. Variety is my middle name. It's $20 after 10PM for both sexes and you can pay cash or card ($2 transaction fee). Drink bars inside are cash only, and there's a $3 coat check on the second floor.

With deets out of the way, my epiphanic experience...stepping inside Bootie SF (DNA Lounge) was amazing! Bright strobing lights, blaring music, visually stimulating screens, sweat gleaming off people left and right... Right away you see the main stage/floor where everyone is jamming out to the top hit mash-ups. With stairs spiraling down both sides, you're led to another floor with 2 - 3 rooms with other DJs spinning house, EDM, etc. Apparently, there's an infamous Zebra room that has closed twice since I've visited...I seriously considered its existence but was reassured by my date I was just a stroke of bad luck...twice haha

The boys here are slightly aggressive creepy but just keep a firm stance and huddle in your group. Ratio of male:female is way whack. Otherwise, everyone is just out having a good time! One of my new fave places in SF ;) UNCE UNCE UNCE Shake what ya mama gave ya!!! #shoutouttoadam

I had the time of my life .... literally.
Considering the several night outs I had in my 20's and 30's , this really was one of the best nights out in my lifetime and I was sober .
I took my friend here for her 41st birthday ,
considering our awful experience at Opal in Mountain View (what was I thinking?) , I wanted to take her to a good SF night club with good music since she flew here all the way from Portland , OR.
We got here at 10pm and stayed there till close . The crowd was good and not so overly crowded that we were rubbing up against people we didn't want to .. lol . Not to mention, the music wasn't so loud my ears were ringing after 5 minutes . Parking was only like a block away , not bad at all.
I will be back for sure cause there's good times to be had here. Totally worth the 50 minute drive and not going to bed till 6am !

My friend visiting from Oregon celebrating her 41st birthday with the inflatable pirate .. too much fun .

I don't usually review non-food places on Yelp, but after spending yet another amazing Saturday night dancing away the hours at Bootie last weekend, I figured it was time I come on here and add my 2 cents.

Bootie is the party that takes place at DNA Lounge every Saturday night. Sometimes there's a theme so definitely check on the website in advance to see what the theme is. You can buy tickets in advance for $15 + processing fee, but I usually just pay the $20 cover when I arrive. They've started taking credit cards for cover recently with a $2 fee, so if you're strapped for cash, you can pay $22 on your credit card for cover.

The venue has two levels with multiple dance floors. There's the main dance floor where they play all sorts of amazing mashups, and on the second level there's an EDM room, a hip hop room, and a 3rd room that I've never quite figured out. Honestly, I don't usually go into the other rooms because I have such a blast on the main dance floor I don't want to go anywhere else. The mashups are all over the place but more often than not focus on current top 40s songs. To give you an idea, this past weekend in addition to current top 40s they also mashed up some oldies, two BSB songs, a Britney song, Lion King, Skrillex, and Marshmello (my favorite DJ).

Bars are sprinkled very liberally throughout the entire venue and it's usually not too hard to get a drink. The bars used to be cash only, but on my last visit this past weekend, they let us pay with card. Score!!

Coat check is $3 and is located on the upper level on the left side. After you enter, go up the stairs to the left of the stage and you'll pass it on your right side right before you get to the EDM room.

Usually there's some kind of drag show from 11-12 and the mashups start after midnight, so I always try to get there around 12/12:30. Bars close at 2 but they keep on playing music until at least 2:30, which is the latest I've stayed.

Bootie is hands down my favorite spot to go dancing in the city and it's almost always never failed to disappoint, except for one horrifically crowded Taylor vs Britney night which was a huge mistake, but let's not go there...

Went on Geek Night and had a pretty good DJ and Bartender. Would definitely come again but be careful when selecting the themed nights. It is definitely what you would expect but had a spacious dance floor and an upstairs.

Bootie is INCREDIBLE in all the ways a club should be. Even thinking about it makes me want to shake my butt in my office chair right now.

Everyone here is happy, friendly, and energetic (you can even go up on the stage to dance!). The music is great -- they play 90s music mashed with current songs, which often goes anywhere from Backstreet Boys to Katy Perry to Red Hot Chili Peppers to Britney Spears. Really great vibes. Unlike some of the other clubs in the city, Bootie is very casual and doesn't have a specific demographic.

      TIPS:
      - Arrive after midnight. 90s mashup music doesn't start until then, and people are the craziest after that time too.
      - If you're sure beforehand that you're going, buy tickets online. It's $15 for the ticket + $3 service fee, so you save $2. That's $2 you could be spending for 2 items on the Dollar Menu!
      - BRING CASH (entry is $10 before 10pm, or $20 after) -- if not for entry, then for buying drinks. There are ATMs located inside, but it's such a hassle.
      - Go to the bathroom before you leave for the club. Lines for the bathroom get long because there are hardly any stalls.
      - There's a pizza place next door. Can you say drunchies?

The only negatives are that it's often jam-packed (be ready to rub up against some sweaty strangers), the lines for the bathroom can take a looong time, and sometimes you see some questionable people here. If you're in a group of friends, however, you don't really have to worry much.

WARNING: People steal phones here ALL THE TIME. I've had at least 5 friends have their phones stolen at this club. It's very easy to get your stuff stolen, as everyone's just kind of jammed up together all the time. Keep your valuables close.

Bootie only happens on Saturday nights, so make sure to mark that date for next weekend!

Scanning through Bootie's pictures on Yelp made me nervous. I'm no punk rocker, mosh pit jumper. I'm just a retired party girl who now fist pumps while sitting my colossal bootie on the couch.

Having to walk past junkies on the sidewalk and the Hell's Angels to get to Bootie made my granny panties bundle all up in a bunch.

What da f*ck did I get myself into?

      THE.BEST.PARTY.IN.SF.

It's no wonder that Bootie has a 4.5 stars overall rating on Yelp, has a Wikipedia page and has been voted as SF Weekly's "Best Club in SF" for seven years in row!

I had the BEST grimy clusterf*ck time in my life on Saturday and I wasn't even drunk. Don't worry, Bootie is NOT a punk rock party as the pics make it seem to be.

      ~ * ~ * COVER * ~ * ~
      *$10 before 10 pm
      *$15 thereafter
*$15 (+$2 service fee) for advanced tickets which includes a line skip. DO this! It's worth every penny.

      ~ * ~ * DRESS CODE * ~ * ~
NONE. Dress down and leave your clear stripper shoes at home; you know, the ones that make your toes look like eagle talons because you'll be dancing the night and morning away (they close at 4 am).

      ~ * ~ * COAT CHECK * ~ * ~
      $3 on the mezzanine level.

      ~ * ~ * BARS * ~ * ~
I lost count at 5 bars and it was quick to get a drink each time (2 minute tops).

      ~ * ~ * DRINKS * ~ * ~
Cash only bar (BOO!) with top shelf liquor at $9-$10 a pop. There's an ATM on both levels.

Pro tip: The only exit leads you right into DNA Pizza which is open 24 hours: http://www.yelp.com/biz/dna-pizza-san-francisco#query:dna%20pizza%20lounge. Clever f*cks.

      ~ * ~ * STAFF * ~ * ~
Rockstar staff! The awesome bartenders are fast and work their asses off to get you your drink stat! The security are thorough and diligent with making sure there was no lingering glass bottles on tables or on the floor.

      ~ * ~ * MUSIC * ~ * ~
Can I give 10 stars? The BEST music I've heard from a club ever and this is coming from a girl who would party 11 days straight.

The DJs did an excellent job mashing up Rap with Rock, Old Skool and Top 40s, Hip Hop and Pop and EDM. Lady Gaga never sounded so good with Snoop Dog and will.i.am nor did Kid Rock with Taylor Swift.

They need a new sound system though as the beats weren't very clear.

      ~ * ~ * CROWD * ~ * ~
Most diverse and non-pretentious crowd I've ever encountered: from punk rockers to bollywooders, hipsters to yuppies, nerd herds to frat bros, lipstick lesbians to ladyboys, and your international buffet of regular club goers (without the attitude).

Everyone was there to dance their bootie off. I was just there to minimize my Yelp bootie.

      ~ * ~ * DANCE FLOORS * ~ * ~
*Main room plays Mash Ups all night with live Mash Up Band show at 11 pm or 12 midnight
      *2nd room/lounge plays EDM
*3rd room plays Hip Hop and Old Skool tracks

      ~ * ~ * RESTROOMS * ~ * ~
*Four janky stalls in the women's restroom on the first level with no seat covers. *sigh* There's also a unisex restroom upstairs near the hip hop room. *wink wink*

      ~ * ~ * PARKING * ~ * ~
Difficult street parking because of all the neighboring bars and clubs. Nearest garage is the Costco garage 2 blocks away on 10th/Bryant. $10 flat rate but closes at 2:30 am.

To the AzN "Magic Mike", you owe me a new pair of whore lashes...the ones you thrusted off while stripping to Ginuwine's Pony in the hip hop room. =/

      Bootchella! Clusterf*ck but so fun.
