BRYANT PARK HAS MY HEART.
I have quite literally seen it in every season!
Perfect place to enjoy a coffee or lunch. Tons of seating. During the summer they have a reading room with carts full with books. And during winter the Christmas market is a MUST!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jul 27, 2024
Bryant Park is located in the Midtown area and has seasonal gardens, various eateries and bars, and even an ice skating rink.
There are various events throughout the year, hosted at the park - I have been multiple times to check out the Winter Village.
There are plenty of tables with chairs to enjoy your treats; some pathways can be a bit narrow due to the number of patrons, and the park can be pretty packed.
Easily accessible via the MTA.

Let me tell YOU dear reader, this gem is the bees knees for residents and tourists alike!
Can't believe I haven't given a review to my FAVE NYc (Manhattan) park. It is worth the commute to this gorgeous landmark situated right behind the NYPL.
Here's a sample of the season-contingent daily activities and semi -regular shenanigans (Ice skating, bumper cars or ice, igloos, holiday markets, bingo, musical chairs, opera, dance performances, etc.) for kids of all ages. There's a carousel, a Pétanque court, ping pong tables, a children's library, an adult library, food and beverage kiosks, an art cart, yoga on the lawn (I could write a song about the beauty of being on the lawn), beekeeping, tai chi... I could go on and oooooooonnnnnn.
Be clear... MOST of it is free and open to the public and listed typically at least a week in advance on their web page. As a native NYer, this ranks higher than Central Park. Pro tip: If you can't make it to an event, you can often watch livestream it on their webcam's site and/or on IG.

Bottom line: besides Brooklyn Bridge Park, this is is my favorite park in the State. There's so much to do, besides just people watching. I saw India Arie (gratis) for the first time here yeeeeeeeeears ago. That got me hooked. There's all kinds of cold weather and warm weather things happening on any given day. I was here for the Bank of America winter events weeks ago. I even learned to knit and helped to create a scarf for the homeless last summer. Imagine! Visit htis park repeatedly, and do yourself a favor, partake! - Aug 2, 2024
We love Bryant Park! On our last visit to the city, we took lunch and was able to find a table and chairs in the park. Great place for people watching. There seems to always be some event or performance going on in the park. The most surprising thing I found in the park were the restrooms. I'm not talking about the porta potties, but the actual enclosed restrooms along 42nd Street. There was a line, but the bathroom attendant ensured things were orderly and called the next person as it was their turn. I was pleasantly surprised to find the restrooms were air conditioned, extremely clean, smelling of fresh flowers, and had classical music playing. This park is a welcome green space in the hustle and bustle of the city.

Bryant Park on a nice day is still one of those hidden gems of NYC that's in plain sight.
Plenty of seating all around, carousel for the kids, places to eat full meals or grab a snack, lots of shade, a bar, and a nice lawn to place a blanket and listen to the performances on the stage setup.
Plus, there is free public wifi here that's strong with a good signal. Lots of shade trees to sit under on a sunny day to get some work done on the computer, or relax and take it all in.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0Mar 30, 2011Previous reviewNothing speaks to me like a spring day sitting in this wonderful green oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle. Just a terrific escape to chill out and relax. Free wifi also makes it a destination spot to sit around and surf the net. Can't wait for the warm spring weather to finally arrive!
When all the trees are full of leaves, the lawn is lush and green, and the flowers are in bloom, the setting is perfect for enjoying life if even for a quick moment. People watching is at a premium here. Tables and chairs are strewn all around so finding a perch is pretty easy.
Having a relaxing brunch sitting outside at the Bryant Park Cafe is also a very nice experience, and can make for some interesting viewing. One time when we were there I looked over at the table across from us and Gwen Stephani and Gavin Rossdale were sitting there with their kids having breakfast. Very cool.
Also, don't forget the Movies In The Park during summer, holiday shops set up for Christmas time, ice skating in the winter, and so many other events. Just go there once in a while to escape the stress of everyday life! - 4163061349May 27, 20241 check-in
Nice park to take a stroll, and there was swap meet set up to purchase a variety of items from food to perfume.
So many restaurants near as well as the views of the busy city.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jun 30, 2024
It was nice to stroll around New York and then stop here, enjoy my coffee and relax. I wasn't the only one that had that in mind. I opted to stay in the shaded seats while others soaked up the sun. It was a beautiful day and the view was gorgeous.
