Very tiny hole in the wall with great boba. The seating is small lounge chairs and funky Chinese cooking shows on. Was great to unwind after a busy afternoon of waking!

READ BEFORE GOING!! this place is kind of confusing because it is actually a shop called kanpai and the bubble tea is only available for online order to pick up or get delivered. if you go to the in person location they have a pretty small selection of bubble tea. we saw some pictures online of a boba bowl thing, but they don't seem to have those anymore. however, their passion fruit slush with boba ended up being really good! so although we were quite confused and disappointed at first, it was still good. but bubble love isn't exactly an actual boba shop so just beware!

This place rocks for 3 reasons:

      1) it has Chinese dessert and bubble tea
      2) opens until 11pm....most dessert places shutdown after 6pm in Victoria
      3) large variety of dessert toppings

Things get lost in translation, so I want to encourage foreigners to try it.

      - The taro and yam balls are chewy goodness. They are house made. I thought they were going to be real taro and yam balls. But, they seem to be mochi flour based. They do not taste like taro and yam, which is a good thing.

      - they are calling "grass jelly" - herb jelly. Basically, it's dark jello. There isn't much taste to it, so don't be intimidated by it.

I had their #1 dessert, which has the taro, yam, jelly, and tapioca toppings on top of shaved ice, in a pool of milk. I could have done without the milk because it felt like I was eating cereal or soup, than a dessert. The milk drowns the flavor. Just like cereal, the milk at the end has so much flavor.

      Try it!!!

Was a hot day and the bubble tea was room temperature and not particularly tasty. Slow service.

Tea is delicious and creamy. It is balanced in both strength and flavor. Bubbles are fat, chewy and on point. They are currently seeking employees and it shows. Service was supremely slow. But I'm on vacation so I don't mind. Because my priorities are in order. But it took like a good 5 minutes for her to make 2 drinks. Still, I thought it was worth it.

Found this while searching for dessert on Yelp. Cute little shop and yummy desserts.

      We ordered:
      --Chocolate bubble tea with pearls
--Shaved ice with taro and yam balls and purple rice

We ordered the bubble tea at 30% sweet. Love shops that allow us to adjust for sweetness. The shaved ice could have had a little more ice and the balls were a little on the hard side, but overall good flavor and not too sweet.

      We would definitely return!

The pineapple coconut slush is to die for- I've been dreaming of it since. I ordered 3 different types of jellies and wouldn't do that again. There was way too much. Going to order it with only the mango star jellies next time.
