Buchan's Kerrisdale Stationery

Friendly staff and a great selection of stationery! They had some hard-to-find Ferris Wheel Press inks, which I was stoked to find. My friend found a gorgeous (and sturdy) peacock box. Great place for gifts for any stationery lover!

I'm a lifelong Vancouver resident and have shopped at Buchan's for pens and stationery when I'm in the neighborhood. Recently, I decided to purchase a Kaweco fountain pen from their website. The order was processed within a day. Two nights later, after 8pm, on a cold rainy night, a pleasant young woman from Buchan's personally delivered my new pen to my home. I wasn't even charged for shipping or delivery!
Wow! Buchan's now has a lifelong customer for all of my future purchases of writing supplies. Excellent customer service from an established locally owned and operated business.

What an adorable little store in Kerrisdale! They have a ton of greeting cards which are on the pricier side but not as expensive as Hallmark or Papyrus, yet still really cute! They also have miscellaneous items and a large selection of art supplies including paints and calligraphy pens! I picked up a watercolor set myself, which at $13 was a reasonable price.

The ladies working in the store were all nice, and made sure my friend and I were finding what we're looking for or had any questions :)

This small stationery shop has all sorts of cool items! From an excellent selection of pens and refills that are not available in your big-box store to fun childrens (and adults) toys to planners and notebooks to cards, this store seems to have everything. They are very fun to wander through and you will definitely find unique item here.

That being said, their prices are more than your typical stationery store. Although they do sell more hard-to-find items, some of their items are still more than you would find at similar stores. For example, a pack of dog page flags, most likely imported from Japan, was $9.00. A single Zebra Sarasa pen was $3.50, while online prices are more around $1.50-$2.00. However, if you don't mind spending a little more, the range of their items is excellent. Just mind that you may be paying a little more than you would elsewhere.

Buchan's is one-stop shopping at its best. The selection is of a great quality and extensive. From office supplies (where else can one still purchase individual envelopes?) to unique, reasonably priced seasonal decorations, to harder-to-find Lamy pens and Secrid wallets, to lovely writing paper, journals and more. Not to mention the unparalleled selection of cards for every occasion. My daughter is the 3rd generation of our family to love to shop here, and although we have seen the store change owners over the years, each has continued to maintain the original concept of the store while more than successfully expanding into other areas. And during this time of self-isolation and social-distancing, our family appreciates Buchan's fulfilling all of the requirements to keep their customers safe while continuing to be open for the community. On a recent visit to purchase, among other things, some items to cheer a relative celebrating a birthday in lockdown in a senior's residence, we bought: birthday cards (one had a music CD), a beautiful case for glasses, hair scrunchies, 3-D bookmarks, individual beeswax candles, glue, a tin of mints, Roger's chocolates, high quality art supplies and a helium-filled mylar balloon (they have a binder full of options). As for the prices, they are still reasonable and comparable, especially when taking into account local rents. I highly recommend stopping by Buchan's if you are not yet familiar with the store. And I see that one can now also shop online. A big thank you to owner Inna and her helpful staff!

If you are looking for nice stationary, this is the store to be in. If you are looking for that special journal for that special someone, they have some moleskin covered ones that are very 'Indiana Jones' like.

They have all sorts of pen refills for specialized pens.

The cards are slightly higher price. But the little knick knacks are quite reasonable. They also carry a line of travel bags also.

Anyone looking for stationary or invitiations - this is the place to go! Noreen is absolutely amazing and fun to work with. We ordered our wedding invitations from Buchan's and we knew what we wanted but were a bit unsure of how to word the invitations. Noreen knew exactly what we were trying to say, and long story short, we were in and out in less than an hour. The turnaround time for invitations was so fast - less than a week! We were also able to find some gifts for the our wedding party and some fabulous office organizing items at this amazing shop.

Very exiquisite shop with extremely useful and pretty little things, however things are a bit pricy compare to other stationary shops, but I guess you pay for what you get, the quality is worth it.

Walking into the store reminded me of Hallmark, however, with a bit more personality. I am not a card person as I make my own, however, there were little trinkets and gifts worth checking out for. I love the stationary and even found cupcake and peanut related trinkets. I am a sticker whore but found some of their stickers a little over priced, especially for certain brands that aren't high end in the sticker world.

Went in to find out about wedding invitations, programs. Was given two binders, exactly the same, and left completely on my own despite my obvious confusion. No advice, no suggestions, no questions - no sale!
