My family & me visited this place yesterday (7 th April'24) for Dinner. We had No Reservations & had to wait 75 minutes for a Table! We are vegetarians & had the Soup & Sandwich Combo, the Grilled Gooey Cheese, Fruit & Bread Fondue, Mac & Cheese & Banana Choc Pudding. All he dishes were excellent in taste..though pricey & one wonders why Veg dishes cost same or more than Non Veg items! The Soup & Sandwich set should have some french fties or a salad added..if choosing Veg option..so the meal is made more fulfilling. One of the important items..which enhanced the taste of the foods were the HOT Mautauka & Calypso Sauces. These were served in bittles- NOT some cheap plastic 8 gms packets! Further it is heartening tgat Burgoo has these great sauces to give the " lip smacking" taste! Service was excellent, Staff great & Toilets Clean & Dry! It is suggested tht the Owners introduce a few more Veg dishes & serve tge Sandwiches with fries & lastly indicate prominently..the Veg items on the menu card. Overall a most satisfying experience..recommended for all discerning clients.

We had my friends surprise bday brunch here and they were so accommodating. It got really busy though so they had to kick us out. I feel bad we stayed for so long and were loud. The waitress was very attentive. The food was good. The options were not many but decent enough so you don't have to think too hard too early in the morning.

It was yet another rainy day in Vancouver and I was seeking pure comfort food so decided to go to Burgoo. I'm so glad I made that decision because I left feeling cozy and warm on the inside (might have been all that cheese).
For drinks we got their fresh mango cooler and aperol spritz. Both were good! The mango cooler was non-alcoholic but very refreshing! For appetizers we were torn between their fonduementale and brie fondue but decided to go for the first one. It came with cubes of apple, grapes, crouton, and tomatoes. All those went so well with their gooey cheese!
For main course I got their french onion soup and gooey cheese grills. I was in heaven! Their french onion soup is one of the best I've had, towards the end I was left with a blob of cheese and some soup. The portion was so big! Their gooey cheese grills came with a side of tomato soup, it was the epitome of comfort food. Never had grilled cheese like that before!
There's a reason Burgoo is considered the best for comfort food in Vancouver.. 5/5Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Aug 22, 2023

Went there for a late lunch with my daughter, we happened to be there 20 mins before their happy hour start (3-5pm)
We decided to have a Parmesan Chicken burger & tomato soup to share.
The burger was tasty with lots of pesto & arugula on it. The soup was very good. For happy hour, we ordered the fondue (20% off during happy hour). They also had a happy hour menu, we had the jalapeño popcorn chicken- nicely breaded & crispy. It has a very slight kick to it not spicy at all.
Service was awesome, she was very friendly, attentive & such a cheery disposition.
Loved the decor, so warm.
Do check it out, street parking available.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 15616Dec 12, 2023
Cheese please!
I've been here many times, but last time we had the fondue to start, which was awesome. I then had the Mac and cheese with tomato added and a Pinot Grigio. This is comfort food to the max.
The interior is cozy and feels like a chalet in the mountains.
The servers are always friendly. The food doesn't come quickly because it's not fast food, so if you are hungry get some olives to start with your wine. Good food takes time!
On other visits I've tried the grilled cheese (yum) and their ratatouille with side of mashies (also yum).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jojo9 J.Vancouver, Canada240May 9, 2024
That popular place a few doors up Main St., was to busy. Didn't want to wait outside (packed inside) on a typical rainy gray Saturday, Someone suggested Burgoo Bistro. A good menu selection pricier than that fore mentioned brunch place. No Burgoo brunch menu but good regardless. I had the Tasty Chicken sandwich with excellent toppings and a FAB salad (good coffee). This combo menu selection was in that Goldie Lock zone (just right). Lots of natural, rustic looking wood throughout.
Interior is like old Europe meets the Flintstones, but why no Burger on the menu at Burgoo?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 14, 2023
Really cute/homey interior. We asked for the patio because we were a little warm from our walk down Main St. The patio was blasting hot from the heaters but the staff turned it off for us. We had the honeycomb pale ale, corn ribs, and a tomato soup/ FAB salad. The corn ribs have a tasty batter that had me actually gnawing on the "rib". The tomato soup was super tasty, not too creamy or cheesy like other places. The FAB salad is a greens with bacon, red onion, and apple in a vinaigrette. Very light and delicious. We will have to come back to try their entrées! Service was excellent for a Saturday brunch time.

Burgoo! Food for comfort I really like the vibes of this restaurant! It's a bit fancy looking and quite cosy.
I got a sandwich, the tasty chicken. I like that it came with hard bite chips and coleslaw, interesting sides. I liked the chips more than coleslaw though. The tasty chicken has bacon, onion jam, Brie, apple and Dijon mayo for $16.5 I liked the bacon and the apple gave it a nice crunch.
We also got a big bowl soup served with herb buttered baguette (wish there was more baguette to dip into the soup, only one piece of bread ) we got straight up tomato vine ripened tomatoe, garlic , red wine, olive oil for $10 it's quite fancy soup, although oily, it's quite flavourful and thick. I really liked the consistency and warms you up! Just need more things to dip with the soup is my only suggestion.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 4, 2023
Enjoying a French Onion soup, highly recommended by my neighbour.
Burgoo today is bustling!
The opaque brown broth is rich and well-seasoned. Properly chewy cheese topping a very substantial stack of bread makes this a stand alone lunch.
Cosy and warm atmosphere.
Will return to sample other mains. Lots of local beer.
Corner of 15th and Main, long time location. East street parking and transit.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
