Parking was a struggle, as usual in alameda. After a few loops around the block, then we eventually found a meter parking spot a few blocks away. We had to put our name in the waitlist to be seated inside the restaurant, but we decided to sit outside with no wait time. There were no issue, because there was a heating lamp. We were seated with excellent quick service, and a plastic water cup for our little one.

We definitely over order just for the 2 of us, but everything was so good. The tea leaves salad was new and interesting. I'm glad I tried it once, and probably will not order it again. But it's my friend's favorite. Everything was fresh and delicious, nothing disappointed me.

We've hopped in for a happy hour at Burma Superstar in Alameda and overall had a pleasant experience. The service was great, with attentive and friendly staff throughout our meal. Outside seating right on the Park Street was an experience of almost touching the passing by vehicles. The standout dish for me was the Kebat with lamb - it was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Burmese samosas were an absolute hit!

However, I was a bit disappointed with the tofu in the coconut chicken curry. It was overcooked and dried out, which detracted from the overall enjoyment of the dish. I would recommend sticking to the meat dishes if you are a tofu fan.

Overall, Burma Superstar is a solid choice for Burmese cuisine in Alameda, with great service and standout dishes like the Kebat with lamb. Just be cautious of the tofu in certain dishes.

Disappointed in our recent late lunch at BS. It seems the quality of the food and the service has declined.

Promptly seated, ordered and I guess we came at a time when they were changing servers - mid afternoon. No notice that the original server was taking off, so the energetic first person was replaced with a person who barely communicated with us. Only three occupied tables inside when we went, thus they weren't slammed with a full house. Had to wave down servers for plates after a drippy salad.

Ordered a very saucy salad, a noodle dish with chicken, and eggplant with tofu. The sauces on the hot items were overly salty and thick. We took most of it home and doctored it up.

Has the uniqueness of BS declined to that of a PF Chang?!? Disappointed.

The chicken curry was very bland and the garlic noodles had no taste besides sweet tomatoes. The salads were great. Especially the sambosa one. The lamb chili was probably the most delicious dish on the table. I was disappointed by the taste when I came in, but maybe I came on an extremely busy day. The ambiance was really really great. I appreciate that the lamb and the chicken is halal.

We have tried so many Burmese places in the Bayarea! We absolutely love this one in Alameda. They have the most generous staff. Super clean, they definitely have bigger portions than Rangoon Ruby in Palo Alto. I don't mind driving extra miles for Burmese food here. Our favourite dishes were the soup, the tea salad and tofu dishes. The garlic noodles are amazing. Whatever we ordered, we finished and left clean plates

Visited on a Friday night and it was busy but there were still a few tables open and we were seated quickly.

We ordered a classic margarita and the Sassi Lassi and both were very good!

We got the Tea Leaf Salad and it was amazing definitely my favorite thing 10/10!

Pork Belly Garlic Noodles were good but I think they could have had more favor.

Steak Kebat was good different than anything I've had before but we liked it

The coconut rice was delicious perfect amount of coconut and cooked well!

      Overall I would return!

The curry at Burma and their coconut rice is one of the very best dishes this restaurant has! I suggest to give it a try if you haven't already, I promise you will not regret it. Now, the service did kinda went down a bit after the whole COVID ordeal but it just depends on the day and time I guess. Overall the experience still a good one!

      Quality/Quantity -
Overall the food is good. Great flavors, but smaller than average servings.

I am impressed that you have now entered the prepackaged food market.
And in Wholefoods, Berkeley Bowl, Mitsuwa, etc.
We also order your salads at Rosenblum Winery often.
We have not tried your bottled tea or fish sauce yet, but look forward to it.

Catering is available in 4 of their locations.

Atmosphere - Very small location, typically a long wait for a table during dinner.
      Open 7 days a week from 11:30am to 9pm.

      Service - Good.

Price - Above average, but that is the price for quality!

Owner Comment - Congrats on your 4 or 5 locations and growing. We have been a customer of your SF (first?) location for a very long time. We also like the fact that you are very active in the Burmese community, with your charity/foundation, etc. Are you franchising now? Burma Bites?

I have never had Burmese food before, but I can say I'm hooked now! We came in and got seated right away. There were tons of great food options on the menu, and Uchral walked us through all the flavor combinations. This helped everyone in our group find something. There were even great vegetarian options!

I ordered the wok tossed chili made with lamb. It was beautiful just to look at, the heat level was perfect. It was spicy without impacting the flavor. I would probably order it with light onions next time, but it was awesome!

There were also some great specialty cocktails, so check those out too!

Great service, great food, great location!

      Fun drinks!

First time eating at this location. We sat outside and it was pretty packed even during the weekday. Service was really fast and our server was really nice and helpful. We got a couple dishes to share and I will say that the portion sizes were huge! We got 3 different dishes and that was definitely enough for 4 people to eat. The only thing was that I felt the food was overly oily. The noodles and chicken dish we had gotten had lots of oil which I wasn't a huge fan of. We also got the lamb samusas and I felt that the flavor was lacking.
Overall the food was delicious and the drinks were really good
