I made a Yelp to review this restaurant.
I have eaten all over the world.
      You want to eat here.
I have now dined twice and I wish I could continue coming back, unfortunately it is out of my home state ‍ - please enjoy for me

Hi! My boyfriend and I went here for some quick lunch on Sunday. We usually love this place and been here many times. This time was a bit different. We got seated promptly and appreciated that on a Sunday afternoon. My boyfriend got the Burmese special lamb curry he thought it was a 10/10 flavors were there. Unfortunately the issue came about with my coconut chicken curry noodle dish. It was one of the most blandest meals I have ever tasted in my life- this was much different than the usual dish that I had. I wanted to ask for more salt of a different dish but my server (started with an M) never showed up to ask how this dish was even though she had asked every table around us. The second time we saw her was when she came to give us the cheque. I was very disappointed with the service alongside the dish. It feels like someone just forgot to put salt in the dish.

Hands down our FAVORITE restaurant during our mini getaway to SF. The staff were SO friendly, the place was so quaint and cute, and the food... DELICIOUS!

We started off with drinks: I got the lychee mojito and my husband got the Burma cooler I think. Both were delicious.

We obviously got the tea leaf salad, what this restaurant is known for, and it did NOT disappoint. What an interesting concept and flavor! I can't even describe it. It was citrusy, but not too much. It was refreshing for sure and a must try. For our main entree we shared the chili lamb with a side of coconut rice. Absolutely mouthwatering, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth tender meat. We didn't find it spicy but we're Indian so our tolerance is high. 10/10 would order again for sure. We'd come back to SF just for this meal!

We ordered the Chili Lamb...my lord...this was so good...it was like Thai food x Indian fusion...depth of spices and spicy..

Basil pork belly was amazing and the garlic green beans were so garlicky and soy saucy.

Garlic noodles with duck was mid.

Service was top notch, superb hospitality.

Ambiance was very clean and low lit. Definitely a great date night spot.

When in San Francisco, highly recommend trying this place. This place is worth the hype for genuine food taste, customer service, and ambience. Just went there for the first time 8/14/24, and even on a random Wednesday they had a wait list..there is no way to make reservations and we were told 40 minutes when we got there and got added to the wait list, but the wait wasn't bad...as there's a lot of cute places around you can check out.

Thank you Burma Superstar for staying authentic and keeping the same consistent reputation as so many others have continued to express, AHHH-MAZING!
(P.S. Feel free to expand to Texas, hehe)

One of the best restaurants I've had in SF! Definitely worth the wait, everything was delicious
      - catfish curry was so flavorful and crispy. a must!
      - sticky fingers was such a delicious appetizer the meat was tender and it was perfectly sweet with a nice viscous sauce. maybe my favorite item here.
      - coconut rice was fragrant and tasty, went well with everything. definitely elevates the meal from a typical jasmine rice.
      - eggplant texture is perfect I could eat it forever
      - tea tree salad is iconic here and I can see why. some unique flavors and textures and it all blends well together
      - we also got noodles which I thought were just okay but that is a small price to pay for an otherwise amazing meal
      - note: they only have one small bathroom and there was quite a line for it

The food here reaches far beyond the hype surrounding this restaurant. The flavors packed in to each dish leave your tastebuds exploding with excitement with each bite. I can see why they stay busy. The service is very quick and very meaningful. And the vibes match the food.

We had a great experience at Burma Superstar and definitely see why it's so popular!! It's the best Burmese food I've ever had! We got the popular tea leaf salad that was delicious and I keep craving it ever since! I got the vegetable curry which was very flavorful and a great taste. It was a bit of a wait to get seated and we got skipped on accident and they were very nice about it and offered a free appetizer for it, which was very nice of them. We got the platha with dip and it was also very yummy. Overall, an amazing experience and will definitely be coming back, especially for the tea leaf salad!!

the BF and I absolutely love Burma Superstar, though we usually go to the Berkeley location! It's pretty cool that different locations will have different specialties. It gives us more incentive to try other spots such as this one in SF or the one in Alameda.

We almost always order the coconut chicken noodle soup, though that didn't appear to be an option in this location. The picture of the noodle dish is something similar, though, but dry instead of a soup. Plus we also usually order a beef curry dish with rice, also pictured.

Overall, the ambiance of both locations we've tried is great. Fairly intimate even though the tables are somewhat close to each other (or maybe we're biased because we eat here so often..) Regardless, this restaurant is a good option for almost everything- a date, a catch up meal with friends, a casual dinner with your family, etc.

I'm excited to come back and try something new!

Probably the best Burmese food I've had in San Francisco. It was all delicious and they had great service.
They do have a bit of a wait tho always. We went on a Wednesday at 8 pm and there was still a ~30 mins wait so plan accordingly.
The tea leaf salad is a must!
They also have pitchers of all their cocktails which is great for sharing!
