I took my car here for a repair. While the woman who answers the phone is very nice and tries to help, the guy who manages the repairs
seemed constantly annoyed with the clients there and is extremely rude. I had three interactions with him while awaiting and I felt treated badly for no reason. At the end, I didn't get my car fixed here and I don't recommend this place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dmitry S.San Francisco, CA093Apr 21, 2024
I have been getting my cars serviced here for 9 years. Ray (and his brothers) is an absolute gem. He cares about my car as much as I, prices his labor fairly, and accommodates my schedule. He knows older cars as well as new ones and will do difficult diagnostic work.

They will over price you way over what you need to pay they offered me 250$ just for the inspection which can be done anywhere else for free sometimes , they charge to much for their hourly labor and they're rude and old just trying to scam you out as much money as they can for their own selfish reasons , I recommend any other place , you can get away with 250$ charge on inspection if the shop was up to date with the latest technology and full of life workers . When it reality its 70 year old men at the youngest working in a dirty broken down little shed with nothing but dirt and filth and shame ,

Ray is a vintage car wizard! Reasonable prices and specialized knowledge of vintage cars makes this shop a go to place for your vintage vehicle. Ray recently rebuilt my fuel system on my 68 Ford Bronco and did an amazing job, starts and runs like a tiger.

Ray and the guys at C & H are the best!
They are excellent diagnosticians, work so fast and are super nice. Not only did they pinpoint and solve the vacuum leaks causing my fast idle, they made constructive recommendations for other areas that needed work. Thanks to them, my throttle linkage is no longer getting caught up on my air cleaner.
If you have a car that needs work, you should bring it here. If you have a Classic Car, this is the only place to bring your car!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rob B.Fresno, CA4273Nov 8, 2021

These guys were super helpful amd transparent and nonjudgemental when i brought my car in for what I thought was a problem with the starter...but was just a dying battery. I'm not super car savvy and it was nice not to feel like i was being worked. Thank you!

I went in to fix a choking noise my car was making and to fix a power window. I believe that these people are honest but the look and feel of the garage gives off a 'chop shop' vibe. Also since most of the employees have thick Chinese accents, it's really hard to understand what they are saying. The next day after I received my car back from them the choking noise was still there, they fixed the car window but the power locks didn't work anymore. I went back to get it fixed and they fixed the locks for free but the time and hassle was annoying. The guys apologized I think as I wasn't sure through the accent. A few weeks later my car hasn't choked so that's a good thing (crossing my fingers). I really think this place could do better if they changed the look and feel of the garage also working on English pronunciation would be great!
I don't know much about cars and how much each service should be worth. I felt like it was a but pricey but I'm no expert. I leave it up to you.
Tune up, power window fix, started air intake, on a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am
Total for parts and services $1,199.79. Check my photo for exact parts.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robin P.San Francisco, CA22716May 6, 2018
Ray at C&H Auto Repair (415-) 863-9705 has rescued my 1999 Jetta three different times, now, his shop is at 3264 17th St. SF CA 94110. He is fair, honest, very helpful and I have had major work done on my water pump, radiator, clutch, my front suspension, other engine work, and brakes and even tires. I feel so indebted to him as he has saved me from dangerous situations (warning: - don't take your car to any local tire shop (no names) and ask them to do your brakes, learn from my mistake!) Ray is a VW expert, has been working on them for 30 years and knows all the quirky VW stuff. I am sorry to say I have no-one in the Richmond neighborhood, but even though he's 20 mins away, in the Mission, please consider using his services if you value your life and your car and your wallet.
