Great addition to the neighborhood AND they're open late! I love hand cut noodles!

The place is bright and inviting. They did a nice job with the ceiling and lights.

We ordered the House Special Beef Rib Noodle Soup, the Roast Beef Noodle Soup, and the Pan Fried Shanghai Buns. The picture for the House Special Beef Rib Noodle Soup shows 2 ribs, but you get 1. It was very good. The noodles were "crunchy" but not hard, the soup was tasty, not too salty or spicy. The Roast Beef Noodle Soup was good but I couldn't eat it. It was too spicy for me. The guy told me that kids will eat that without a problem but again it was too spicy for me. Other than that, I think I would have really enjoyed it. The noodles were great, the beef was more like a beef stew - very tender. The Pan Fried Shanghai Buns were good, maybe could have had a little more filling but the bread was not doughy, and had a nice flavor.

The server was very informative, he described the noodles and the various dishes, and gave us his recommendations. He also refilled our tea pot often.

We'll be back to try some of the other dishes. Love that is in walking distance and they're open late!

The food looked so good, we forgot to take pictures before we jumped into the noodle soups!

Came here for dinner when visiting the Clement Street Heart of the Richmond market.

The restaurant is small, packed and really busy. It took a few minutes for the server to come to our table but once ordered, the food came quickly.

A unique thing about this restaurant is that instead of water, they provided a carafe of chilled sour plum tea which was really refreshing and thirst quenching. We all ordered noodles dishes which came piping hot. You can request for less spice if desired and add spice if needed using the chili oil on the table.

We all ordered knife-cut noodles and they were chewy and bouncy. My soup was flavorful and perfectly numbing but a bit too salty for me. I had the roasted chicken noodles and the meat was juicy and tender.

If you check in on Yelp, you can get a free glass of iced soymilk. The soymilk was so good!

Cozy small spot for spicy noodle soup and hand pulled noodles. Was very packed on a Wednesday evening around 7-8.

Service was a bit slow but all the staff were very friendly -- it took a bit of time for the food to come out but it was piping hot and very comforting on a cold night!

I liked the pork and cabbage dumplings a lot -- they tasted very homemade and had thick wrappers. The noodle soup was a good level of spice (I got mild) while also numbing. The soup was too oily for me though, and the beef was very tough and hard to chew. However, the hand pulled noodles were yummy and had great texture. Good price for a ton of food!

The lamb soup was so flavorful. Got it with the hand cut noodles. The broth tasted like lamb as well. Loved the small crunchy chickpea type thing. The beef soup with hand cut noodles was also so flavorful.

Got a free pitcher of sour plum juice, which was too sweet for me and had to ask for water to water it down. After that, it was very refreshing. Also got a free sweetened soy drink with Yelp check in. This was really sweet too but was good as a light dessert after eating the soup.

We were impressed! Looking forward to trying their other dishes but also wouldn't mind coming back for the same ones!

Going to the city was an impromptu decision and our phones were about to die. The server thankfully had chargers and charged both our phones for us. Really appreciated that!

Ambiance is very casual and decor was kind of a mishmash of different styles.

The roast beef noodle soup was the most popular. Almost every table ordered it including ours. There were a ton of noodles!! Noodle pull!

The shop is also cute and unassuming from the outside. There are signs announcing the place. But surprisingly, many different parties arrived and just kept on showing up even when we were done and leaving. It seems pretty popular!

Hubs and I have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it over. Arrived at around 1pm on Sunday, and many of the tables were occupied but we were seated quickly. Steady stream of customers while we were there.

There were a few things we wanted to try. The dandan noodles (mild) I ordered were the first to arrive. Mild still had a kick to it. I like the handmade noodles - perfectly chewy and the dish was quite flavorful. Hubs ordered the Chongqing Roast Beef noodles (medium) - Hubs enjoyed the texture of the noodles, too. He also noted that the beef was tender. Kiddo ordered the noodles with the pork intestines. He ate it all up but isn't a huge fan of the numbing chili oil. Pig ears were flavorful. The pan-fried buns were also good. However, like another reviewer mentioned, it is more fluffy than crispy.

Appreciated that they bring complimentary cold tea (slightly sweet - very much like Lipton ice tea) to help cool the mouth after all the chili oil. Hubs and I enjoyed or meals and would return to try other items.

      Seated via Yelp Reservations

Came here for lunch and was seated right away and greeted with iced tea. I ordered noodles and the wontons in broth, and both were delicious. My buddy ordered the Dan Dan noodles and some Shanghai beef dumplings, which were also delicious.

The atmosphere was a bit lacking. There wasn't any music and it was a bit musty, but that won't stop me from coming back. The food was very good.

Pork intestine noodles and pork ears were delicious. The roast beef noodle soup was a little too hot but the flavor was good.

No complaints about service. I enjoyed the plum juice they give out too!

My bf and I decided to visit C.Q. Noodles again because we wanted soup noodles. It's been awhile and we thought our last visit was pretty good, so we were expecting some great dishes like last time, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed.

FREE RANGE CHICKEN MIXIAN SOUP ~ I used my chopsticks to see what was in my bowl and there wasn't much. It was a neck bone and more bones with very little meat. Honestly, I didn't get in a real bite of chicken. There were more bones! Noodles were thin and a small handful that would feed a child. Thankfully, I wasn't starving. And the broth was pretty salty. Was this supposed to be just soup? Definitely ordered wrong. 2/5

CHONGQING STYLE ROAST BEEF MIXIAN SOUP ~ A few chunks of beef with a little bit of noodles. Temperature was near boiling and doesn't cool off. Salty and spicy soup. 2/5

BRAISED PORK SLICES WITH PRESERVE MUSTARD GREEN ~ this dish at least had enough, but was also salty. 3/5

Unfortunately, not everyone can handle the amount of sodium that was consumed that your hands start to shake! And the temperature was SO hot that it took forever to finish a small bowl of noodles.

My bf still being hungry, decided to order braised pork slices with preserved mustard greens. From what he said, that too was very salty. I didn't bother trying it as I didn't want to be extra thirsty all night nor my blood pressure to skyrocket. Sadly, I don't think we'll be back.

A solid place for Chongqing style food. The beef rib noodle soup and dried peas and mixed meat noodle is a must try here. The noodles are hand cut and perfectly chewy. The soup is filled with flavor and has great flavor depth. The service can be slower when it's crowded, but it's overall good. There's a refreshing plum juice that they serve as well.

The pan fried buns were a miss - too doughy, not enough meat, and not too crispy. The dumplings here are a bit too doughy for me as well.

The Dan Dan noodles are quite nice. A small warning - the noodle soups served in the heat preserving bowls are usually way too hot to eat right away. You need to wait a good amount of time for it to cool down to comfortably eat (especially if you order very spicy!).

Takeout is quick and you can order easily on their website.

Very authentic, chewy hand sliced noodles, delicious flavor, generous portions. The service was fast and the space was small but clean. The "Dried Peas & Mixed Meat Sauce Noodles" dish has a weird name but it's super delicious and one of the most famous noodle dishes in Chongqing! It's not overly spicy and the beans give a unique texture and flavor.
