Wonderful place for Turkish breakfast/brunch. It's small and super cute, the food is delicious and their Turkish coffee is excellent. One added bonus- they have a gluten free and vegetarian pastry, the cruffin which was delicious. In addition to all of this, the staff was so friendly. Do plan for a bit of a wait, it does get busy but is worth the wait!

Came up from Seattle for a weekend. Ate at a bunch of Michelin guide restaurants and yet I somehow still think this place surpassed what I ate at those other places!! Bf and I got the monet plate to share with an extra slice of toast. Dog immediately ate the toast off my plate (she had never done this before) and the waitress graciously brought us another one out. Food was SO good I don't know how they season those eggs or what sausage they use but I've been thinking about it everyday lol. We sat outside because we had a dog and luckily it was a nice day but the inside was so cute and unique. Matcha latte with oat was fine, nice quality matcha. Bf got a breve vanilla latte, milk a little foamy but it wasn't bad.
Amazing service. They take time to make the experience personable despite how busy it gets. Can't wait to come back one day!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carmeli M.San Francisco, CA094Aug 18, 2024
Cafe Portrait's food taste excellent!! I love that the food was fresh. It's made with fresh simple ingredients. They're not overwhelming, just the right amount of spice and taste. The food came to us hot. I really loved the beef ravioli. The yogurt on top added a fresh taste. It was soft, cooked well and it was such a comforting dish which I tried to eat slowly as to savour the dish.
I would say that the apple was okay. I wish the apple taste was stronger. My friend got the crème brûlée tea. That one smelled amazing and had a stronger taste. The shakshuka was also delicious and I can confirm that if you dip the tater tot in the shakshuka, that it is also a good experience
The place was filled but we didn't wait that long. The portraits in the cafe is such a lovely theme. It's definitely a unique brunch spot. Hopefully you guys get to go there! I'm planning to have the carbonara next time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Greg O.Cypress, TX13371Aug 26, 2024
Excellent Saturday morning breakfast in the English Bay/West End Neighborhood. We enjoyed a well prepared caffe latte and flat white, before diving into shakshuka and avocado toast with smoked salmon. Both were delightful and the smoked salmon was especially delicious. Comfortable and cozy dining room adorned with original artwork on the walls and tables. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Great way to charge up before biking Stanley Park and viewing all the beautiful views. We'll definitely return when back in Vancouver

This place has not only great food but wonderful art on the walls and on each table. Apparently the portraits are done by the owners father. It's a pretty small place, most tables are for two but there are two tables where you can fit four or cramp five. The atmosphere is wonderful and on a public holiday we only had to wait 10 minutes for five.
All the food looks really good. I had the monet which is an eggy skillet with three eggs and beef sausage around the sides and tomatoes. Great flavour. I also had a bit of the Shakshuka which had great tomato flavour. The other dishes looked great too like the French toast with ice cream.
Would definitely recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 10, 2023
Sunday 11:00 am Cute place. So cozy. Fresh, delicious, great presentation, and service. Great location. Parking meters along the street and a pay parking lot across the street. Seating for approx 22 people. We were seated, reviewed the menu, and walked up to the counter to order. Guests are beginning to list their namesnow on a waitlist.

We really loved this little restaurant while in Vancouver in June. Definitely recommend it. We were there for brunch - the food and the coffee were wonderful.

First time in Vancouver. Stayed in a hotel around the corner and decided to check it out. What an awesome cool cafe with so much character and amazing art! The food was delicious and homey. What a lovely spot.

We had a pretty good breakfast here. Service was good and the cafe was really cute. The coffee drinks were tasty and if I drank caffeine, I would have done the Turkish coffee. It looked authentic. The breakfast dishes needed a bit of salt but were otherwise tasty.
