California Carpet

I have high praise for California Carpet. Not only do they offer a great selection, including very well priced quality remnants of all sizes, but the service is outstanding. We bought a very large wool remnant for our 25x13 ft living room years ago and it still looks as good as it did then. A few years later we needed a runner for our stairway. In addition to having just the right color and pattern for our craftsman home, they came out to measure the stairs before we ordered. And the good service doesn't stop once you buy. When a visiting cat turned the stair runner into a scratching post, I called our salesman, Gregory Bagett, who arranged for their installer to come to the house to fix the problem.

If you need a carpet, check them out and ask for Greg.

It's nice to get an apology, but I just checked, and California Carpet still haven't updated the hours on their web site https://www.calfloor.com/san-francisco-ca.

I also called the store and the recording says the store is open on Sundays.

But I spoke to someone at the store who confirmed that the store is actually not open on Sundays.

Publishing the correct store hours is so basic to running a business. If you can't do this simple thing accurately, how can customers trust you with their business?

We were very happy with CA Carpet when they installed our carpet. Unfortunately, the product was awful. After just a few years it showed terrible wear patterns. We tried all their suggestions for dealing with the problem, and finally invoked the replacement warranty. We weren't happy with any of the options they offered so we took a cash settlement and used it to put in cork flooring.

This is a comment to their totally false accusation that I requested the least expensive carpet and pad.I got a 100% wool carpet which is by no means the cheapest carpet.I would have gotten synthetic carpet if I wanted the cheapest.I was NEVER given a choice on the padding and you said what I got was the best padding and lasts the longest.The fact is when you walk on the carpet with pad there are lumps and bumps throughout the room and it is like you are walking strait on the concrete.So not only do you not stand behind your product and installation with good customer service but you are dishonest in your your comments about my request of a carpet.Once again if I had wanted the cheapest carpet there were many other choices which I was not interested in.Do not buy from Ca carpets .Do yourself a favor and go to Bay Area floors and design on el camino in San mateo.

I was nervous going to California carpet because of some of the negative reviews, but I knew they had been in business for decades so I decided to give it a try. I ordered two things from them, both custom. One was a stairway runner and the other was a sisal area rug. On both items, I needed quite a bit of advice and customer service and I was impressed with my sales person, Nattha. Her expertise was over the top and her energy outstanding. She ran all over the display room, pulling down different carpet samples and unrolling huge pieces of material. She knew everything about all the different kinds of grass and fiber rugs. We ended up deciding to get an artificial sisal since we have a dog. It really looks identical. She let me take home any samples, with no rush to return them or any deposit. When I made my order, I was shocked to discover that they were both installed within two weeks! Luis, the installer, was fantastic as well. Totally professional and easy to work with. I recommend California Carpet to anyone.

I was looking for a rug for my home office. After looking at dozens of stores, stumbled across California Carpet. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, a true delight to work with! They helped me settle on a faux hide rug that was great for my office and was actually way cheaper than the rug I came prepared to buy!

We needed to get a custom carpet for a room that had unique dimensions. After looking at options we landed with California Carpet in SF. We went in person and had good help in the store and they let us take samples home to find the right material to use. They gave us an estimate, that ended up being a few hundred less then the final cost. The communication was difficult, even leaving a message and getting a reply was not easy. This is something they should work to improve for their business. The service people did a good job, showed up on time and we are happy with the end product. But, again, the cost was higher than we wanted. With that in mind, they land at 3 stars.

Avoid this company, like what other Yelpers are saying! They underquoted the project to the point where their own workers walked off the job because they realized it would take more work than what was quoted. California Carpet agreed to return the security deposit BUT they still haven't. They continue to give the "run around" on the status of the refund. They exhibit poor judgement and poor business practices. RUN from this company and save yourself some headache. They have demonstrated to be fraudulent.

Bad follow up. Try another vendor. Everything was a hassle. They didn't read me emails.

I am so happy to write this review. I'm a Interior Designer. I've worked with Rodney for years. I can't say enough. His Design collaboration and project management is fantastic.
