This place is great. Went with my wife for our anniversary dinner. Food was great, service was great, and the vibe of the restaurant and decor is great.
Ronnie hooked us up with a seat at the oyster bar and is one of the friendliest service industry workers I have ever interacted with.
The food was amazing, I highly recommend the peanut butter cheesecake. Also a cut of salmon that was one of the best things I have ever ate.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 14, 2024
Cardero's is ideally situated overlooking the marina. It's much nicer inside than the pictures convey. Since it's always packed in the evening we decided to go for Sunday lunch, and it was delightful.
We shared the rather massive dockside platter, which included 12 oysters, 12 clams, 12 mussels, 6 prawns, a whole Dungeness crab, ahi tuna tataki, salmon poke, miso-ginger vinaigrette, red wine mignonette, cocktail sauce, and fresh grated horseradish. Everything was great. My wife loved the oysters, and I loved the clams and mussels. The crab was a bit of work, but worth it.
There's a nice wine list (no bargains).
Service and the entire staff were very friendly and welcoming. A great place for seafood, and to enjoy the view.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 3, 2024
We could see this restaurant from our hotel window! We could not get a reservation, however, we were able to walk in and we were seated on the patio immediately!
The place is always packed and for good reason! Salmon, shrimp and scallops, all great choices! The potatoes were ok.
If you're down by the waterfront, check it out!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Karen J.Orange County, CA13815Aug 28, 2024
This place is a gem! Everything was So delicious! I love the setting. The view is excellent and breathtaking. All of the food was very well prepared. Service was efficient, personal and so helpful. You could tell it's a kind of restaurant where the staff has been there a long time. They also have live music in the bar. We went there two times and had the delicious salmon, halibut, seared tuna, and double lobster tails. We topped it off with the icebox lemon cake. Great selection of beers and wines. So yummy!

Service was attentive and prompt -- thank you Logan!
The Arctic char had a nice sear on the outside but moist and tender on the inside. The brussel sprouts were really sour (probably from lemon juice), though we asked for no cheese, so maybe the cheese normally balances it out. The truffle fries were a hit!
Lots of room for a work lunch. Would come back again!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jul 12, 2024
Good food and service was superb. I would give this restaurant a 5 if they had more local fresh catch. But we all had the plank salmon and a squid wok appetizer which was very good. The portions aren't Texas size but appropriate and the price point was a bit high with the entree at $ 32. Margaritas were very nice.

Halibut here is drier than Sahara desert! Very small portion and no flavor at all. Literally tastes like cotton balls in fish form. Can you believe they charge $45 for that? Mushroom tagliatelle is alright. I gave 2 stars because we got avocado/ tuna/ tomato salad and at least that had flavourful dressing.
Good ambiance but bruh fish is extremely subparHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 25, 2024Previous reviewGood atmosphere. On the OpenTable app seems busy but when I showed up there's plenty of empty tables. Salad is great but I would advise against the halibut. It's super small dry and flavorless

The ambiance of course is
Nice. Customer service was stellar, but the fish and chips were mediocre. Fries were cold and the fish batter was soggy not crispy at all.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

"On the shore I look and see
Lights from far away come back to me
On the Waterfront"
(Leon Russell)
We had one night in Vancouver before our cruise ship took us away to Alaska. One of my Canadian friends recommended Carderos for dinner, and since it was about 100 yards down the waterfront from our hotel, four of us gave them a try for dinner. And I'm glad we did, because Cardero's was great.
Cardero's was big and spacious with such a deep seafood menu, I found it hard to decide what I wanted.
I chose a cup of Manhattan Clam Chowder ($9CAD).and Red Curry Prawns ($24CAD). I also opened with a cocktail, in this case a Manhattan Sour ($15.50 CAD),The Manhattan was terrific, and was a nice way to kick things off.
My two dishes were fantastic- great flavor, great presentation, and decent pricing.
My chowder was excellent- with plenty of chopped clams, diced potatoes, carrots and onions.
The Red Curry Prawns were even better -served in a spicy broth with shrimps, bean sprouts, veggies and a side of white rice. What a fantastic appetizer.
Without question Cardero's would be in my rotation if I lived in the Vancouver areaHelpful 9Thanks 2Love this 8Oh no 0
