I liked the older man that was helping. The window man that gave the cash was super kind! The young man that only helped the Mexicans empty their bags and no blacks a no no for me!
Also they don't pay as well as union city! I just didn't want to do the drive! A tank of gas to get out there! So, I guess it balances out ok!
Out there I would had received $36 and here was $20!
Union City they take them out the car. They do all the labor work. Here I had to put them in barrows. While the young man looked at me four times and didn't help!!!! Take them to the scale etc! So it is what it is! Thank you Lord for $20 more than I had!

Three barrows only got $20! On Union City I would had received $36! Well it is what it is!
$20.32 hmm should had gone to my regular place! The guy was helping all the Mexicans! Not one black! Empty their bags! Bruh! Do better!

I am a sparkling water / Coke Zero fiend, and Cash For Cans is now subsidizing my addiction :). Working from home has accelerated my accumulation of cans and bottles, and while recycling through my apartment's waste management has historically been the norm, I thought I would try Cash For Cans out.

I went on a Saturday around 1pm and there was minimal wait - I was in and out within 10-15 minutes. The workers were helpful in guiding this newbie, and they have a super efficient process. After you sort your recyclables into the trash cans (recommend pre-sorting as others mention), a worker inside will weigh your respective loads, calculate the payment, and hand you a slip of paper with the amount. You then collect your payment outside. I believe the rates are similar if not the same as the 2020 image someone posted. For reference, I received ~$18 for 3 trash bags of cans and 2 trash bags of plastic bottles (not crushed). Did I expect more? Maybe. But still enough for two 12-packs of Coke Zero and a trip to the Taco Bell value menu!

Collect cans and bottles and recycle them here for a few bucks. Lines can get long. Parking is street.. if you have a bunch of recycling you just have to walk back and forth. A young man who worked there was very nice and helped me unload everything and brought my bins to me while i held my place in line. The guy behind me said Hayward on 150th pays more.... I only do this once a year with all my recycled bottles (plastic and cans) next time I'll go to Hayward. Had 1 full basket of cans and 3 full baskets of plastic bottles and it was only worth $37.

      This was an amazing experience!

Due to the pandemic, we had well over 2.5 years of well-sorted recyclables in various bins and garbage cans that filled my Honda Element. When I drove up, they swarmed my car and helped me take all my items into the facility. I was in and out in less than ten minutes.

      It's a well-oiled machine.

I can't wait to go back...but it usually takes at least a few months to gather up enough cans and bottles that we use at home.

My husband and I usually do our recycling with Standard Iron & Metal on San Leandro Blvd. Due to COV-19, they have been closed. I called them a few months ago, inquiring as to when will they be opened for business. They gave me a recommendation to check out Cash for Cans for recycling.

This morning we stopped by Cash for Cans. We arrived before 9:00 AM, we lucked out and found street parking across the street. They were already opened. People were already lined up with their bags of cans, plastic and glass bottles.

The process was quick. It was like an assembly line. Employees were available to help us along the way. They emptied our aluminum cans into gray containers. I noticed the red containers were for plastic bottles.

I have to admit the service here was better than Standard. My husband and I were in and out of there in about 10 minutes. There will be more returned visits to Cash for Cans for recycling. Thanks to Standard for their recommendation. We have options for recycling. Yay!

Before coming here separate bottles/cans by the type of material in a bag. There is only street parking available. Upon arrival:

      1) Place cans/bottles in the designated colored bins. Red bins are for glass. Black bins could be for aluminum or plastic.
      2) Line up to get bins weighted.
      3) An employee will record the weight and calculate the amount of money you will get.
      4) You print your name and sign that record paper.
      5) An employee gives you a paper stating how much money you will get.
      6) Walk over to a window to redeem your money.

I came on a Saturday around 9AM and was in and out within ~10 minutes.

I recommend to bring gloves or sanitizer to use upon leaving since the handles on the bins get dirty and sticky over time.
