Chris' Discount Muffler & Brake

I had a broken exhaust midpipe. Mazda dealer would have had to replace the entire thing, including catalytic converter, for $1,200, but they were honest in telling me to find an exhaust shop and have it welded. Tony at Chris' Discount Muffler looked at it at 8:30 Saturday morning and showed me that it could not be welded because of the location of the break, but said he could put in a new resonator which would take care of it. Entire cost for parts/labor/tax: $88 - and it was done in less than two hours. I'm sold on this place and will be back.

My 1986 Toyota pickup was struggling to pass star smog. Got a new catalytic convertor, muffler, and tailpipe, all installed before noon same day as I dropped the truck off. Passed smog with "flying colors" in the afternoon and had my 2025 tags by EOD. Thanks Chris and crew for speedy and effective work and getting my old truck to easily pass smog!

Great work and service. I brought my '89 4Runner for a new muffler and tailpipe. The team did a great job. They had no qualms about working on a vintage vehicle and made sure the job was done right. I will be bringing my other vehicles here in the future.

Been taking my Mazda CX-5 to this shop for routine service over the last couple years. They do great work and the prices are much more reasonable than the dealership. I've recommended Chris's to friends and they have had good experiences also.

Busy shop BUT they make sure you get taken care of. Came in to get my muffler fixed, had an appointment and they went right to work as soon as I got there. Five stars for that alone as many shops will make you wait even with an appointment. I was &
out in 30 minutes even with a full garage full of cars. Glad I went with Chris's discount muffler. Lucked out this time!

Today(2/15/23), I reached out to Chris' Discount Muffler & Brk regarding an issue I'm having with my SUV muffler on 276 11th St, San Francisco.
Sharon answered my telephone call immediately and she was extremely helpful, sharp, and professional. She cares for the business and that shows in her excellent customer service.
I went there an hour after, and it only took them 20 minutes to find out the real issue behind the noise coming from the muffler. They diagnosed the issue successfully and they charged me for this service. It had to do with another job /by another mechanic who replaced my transmission and did a poor job.

I highly recommend this place and I will use their service again.

Muffler cost me 300$ and the service was good.

Only request would be to not park my car on the street after it's done since SF isn't safe

When I found out that my catalytic converter had been stolen, I started calling around to see if anyone had one in stock. Chris' Discount Muffler & Brake confirmed that they did, indeed, have one!! The work was completed very quickly and I got my car back in a matter of hours! I could not have been more pleased with the service and would absolutely use them again!

My SUV is my life-line. I need to take care of this work-horse like it's my last. I love my Ford Edge Ltd. AWD, that said, I am also a bit mechanically knowledgeable since my Dad taught me how to work on a V8 engine.

I discussed doing R&R on the front end of my SUV on top of a full service. Chris helped me figure it all out and I brought in all the parts (I wanted factory stuff and some special ordered stuff). The SUV was serviced, with one minor hiccup - Chris was on it, he went above and beyond to fix it, and I am endlessly grateful.

I can honestly say this is a safe shop to take your car to. Chris has a stellar reputation and he deserves it!
