Ciardella's Garden Supply

I gave them 1 star only because I could not post without a star rating. Horrible customer service. I asked them if they would be open on Monday Memorial Day and she assured me that they were open. I placed my order a week a head of time for customer pick-up. I was called the Friday before and told that they had decided to close on Memorial Day and that I would need to pick up my order before then. My landscapers were not available to pick-up my order on another day (Friday or Saturday), I asked if they would deliver and she said "for a charge!" Leaving me with landscapers at the ready to pick up soil and work on Monday with no product. Very poor business practice and even worse customer service. She even said that I was an insignificant to the volume of business that they get from other customers. She also became indignant and hung up on me. I don't care if I spend $200 or $2,000 dollars I am a paying customer and you can't do business like this. I will be taking my business somewhere else even if I am paying more, only to be treated more respectfully.

I always place orders via phone and they have been extremely amicable and helpful. I've been doing business with them for over 10 years now.

Called on a Monday to order 7 yards of mini bark select (mulch) for delivery on Friday. They delivered on-time and left the receipt for me. The mulch is the perfect size, color, and not smelly. So glad to have found this local spot for my garden needs.

Buyer beware!
I have been a customer for over 20 years, but something has changed, and it isn't good!
The employees are hostile, the manager is hostile, they left me sitting in the yard for over 15 minutes to get loaded even though I was the only customer. Just ignored. I called the office from my truck, but they dont bother to answer.
Got my money back, but not without a ton of bad attitude.
Went to Lyngso for a quick and efficient load, in and out in no time!
Try Lyngso if you don't want your day ruined by these morons.

I run a landscape comany on the peninsula and I've been going to Ciardellas forever . Great little business with great employees , off the beaten path . Never a long line , always great service and easy in and out access to the freeway I highly recommend a visit . If you live in PA or PV or anywhere in Los Altos ( LA hills especially ) they're just a short distance away which makes it cheaper , and their prices are cheaper than Lyngso and they are one of the only providers in PA .

I needed to buy some soil for my garden. My normal go-to place is Lyngso in San Carlos. Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for Ciardella, they are now closed on Saturdays. I remember seeing Ciardella on San Antonio Rd in Palo Alto. So I went there for the 1st time on Sat morning (6/27/20). Advantages: closer to home; opened on Saturdays; opened before the 7:30 AM posted time; soil was already pre-bagged compared to Lyngso where you bag your own; they load it in my car.
Disadvantage: Each place has their own unique blend of soils. So Ciardella does not carry some soils that only Lyngso has.
Shoutout to Connie (sp?) for waiting patiently while I was deciding and to Enrique for sharing his knowledge while loading the bags in my trunk.

I live around here but I never knew this place until my gardener told me to come here to purchase some dirt.

Wow. They have all sorts of dirt, rocks, etc. You buy bulk and better have a truck to carry the haul.

I was calling every nursery in the yellow pages looking for a special tree. Maricela answered the phone at Ciadella's and though they didn't have the tree in stock either (I'd already called maybe 7 nurseries or more)--without me even having to ask--she started looking up places that might have it in stock. She furnished me with addresses and phone numbers of other nurseries to help me find this special tree that I so want to give as a gift to a close friend who's tree died at a ripe old age.

I really couldn't believe how helpful and thoughtful this person was being, and I was very grateful for the help, as I don't actually live in that area or know my way around there (and she didn't even know that).

I'm so impressed after receiving such kind service from Maricela, I will definitely tell my close friend who *Does* live nearby there to make sure to buy all of her garden needs at Ciardella's. I wish every business representative acted like that... It makes your business look so much better and more confident when you do :)

This is the only place with true Mini-Bark. This place is a well kept secret. Note: like all rock places don't wear open toe shoes. They do have samples of all of their products inside the office
