I am so sad to see the most recent negative comments for Cielito as it is my favorite place to go. I wonder if it was an off night. I do have to say that the prices for the food are steep and service has been a bit off at times but the food has always been great and our experience has never been to the extend of the comments below. Our favorite appetizer is the Molotitos, I love everything with epazote! And my favorite dish is the chile verde. The meat is so tender, and it's just delish! They are so accommodating and add an extra kick as I do like my food spicy! I hope people give this place a try despite the negative comments. I always have a good time there. One of my favorites!

Had date night a Cielito last night 8/16 and we were blown away by everything! We were welcomed by friendly staff and were seated right away despite of how busy they were! There were several large groups celebrating birthdays and the Cielito staff went to each group singing happy birthday and bringing what I believe were churros. The place was loud but not unbearable, just busy. The kitchen, one of my favorite parts, was right by the entrance and open so you could see the magic that goes to make the meals. Everyone was so concentrated and the chef, Osvaldo, looked like he had everything under control. Truly fascinating seeing them work, I wish I would have taken a picture!
At our table, we were quickly served chips and salsa, water, and our waiter quickly followed to take our drink orders. Our two person table was a bit over crowded with a little lamp and succulent but they were able to take that away and it all worked out. For appetizers we had the tostaditas with ahi tuna and they were so good! My partner is very picky with his food and he loved his sopitos de tinga. When he can eat, it means the food is great! For our meals I ordered the special, nopales rellenos de carne. Castus leaf with steak and a red sauce that I can't remember what the name is but it was really good. He got the steak plate and killed it! The meat was so tender. Oh and the rice and beans were to die for! We finished the night with flan - delsih!
We were very please with the service from start to finish. For how packed the place was, everyone seemed happy, having a great time. I want to give a big shout out to the chef as we were very pleased with our entire meal and came quick and hot! The bar tender for great drinks, my favorite was La Llorona. The floor manager (i think), Daniel, who was everywhere and had the place running smoothly. And though all the servers, buss boys, etc were on top of their game, I have to say Esmeralda was amazing. She was personable and quick. Checking in on all her tables regularly and made the experience that much better.
We got to Cielito at 7:30 pm and left right around 10 pm. We took our time, enjoyed ourselves, and will definitely be coming back to Cielito.
P.s. I am that weird person who asks for people's names

Came here on a Tuesday - they did have a special for taco Tuesday, blackened salmon tacos. No deal on the price but I went ahead and got them anyway. Two tacos were 14.95 and then I added beans and rice for $7. Bf got the enchiladas suizas.

The chips and salsa was good pretty standard.

My tacos were okay the salmon was a small filet but wasn't super flavorful and the black beans that came on the tacos overpowered the taste of the salmon. For the second taco of my order I took the beans off which allowed me to taste something else but I wouldn't say that salmon flavor shined through. They were decent enough but I'd probably try something else next time.

Bfs enchiladas were small but good he liked them well enough.

For dessert we ordered churros. The churros came with caramel and chocolate both sauces were good the churros were okay the outside was cooked nicely but the inside was doughy like they were cooked on too high of heat so that the outside cooked but the inside didn't idk they were OKAY.

All in all I'd go back and try some other items it's a nice place and the service was really good so I'd go give another try.

      Disappointing Experience

My visit to Celitos was beyond disappointing. Firstly, we found multiple hairs in our food, which completely ruined our appetite and made us question the hygiene standards in the kitchen.

Moreover, the front desk was unattended upon arrival, forcing us to wait for 10 minutes just to be seated. This lack of organization and customer service was frustrating, especially considering the prices charged.

To top it off, the evening was meant to be special as we were planning to announce a pregnancy to friends. However, the unpleasant dining experience and the waiter was not discreet about our drink order and almost ruined this important moment for us.

Overall, I would not recommend Celitos to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. The combination of poor hygiene, inadequate service, and a lack of attention to detail made our visit a complete disappointment.

The food is delicious but man, the service was s...l...o...w. The staff is super friendly but the wait to get your food, the wait to get the check, took a long time. We got there at 6:45pm and left at 8:45. It was just me and my husband. Two hours for 2 people was a little too long.

Otherwise the food was really good. The Pescado Del Dia was very tasty. The veggies were plentiful, cooked and seasoned well.

The tacos were all delicious. We ordered carnitas, carne asada, and a fish al pastor.

Beans and rice were also good.

Churros were okay. Crispy outside but the inside batter was mushy and bland.

Loved it. Food was great. The service was really good. Decorations were very nice. I will definitely come back, but I hear brunch is even better.

This is an awesome Mexican restaurant in Danville. The place has a nice decor and a welcoming vibe. We came here on a Sunday around 12:00 and enjoyed their breakfast menu. Everything was delicious. I had the pescadero al pastor (fish tacos) and they were really fresh and flavorful. I also loved their corn elote, which is grilled corn with crema and cheese. Hubby had the carnitas hash, which he also enjoyed. Overall a great brunch spot.

Cielito Cocina Mexicana in Danville is a delightful Mexican restaurant and bar that offers a wide selection of alcohol and an impressive array of wines. My partner enjoyed one of their seasonal cocktails, a guava margarita, which she found delightful. The freshly made chips, salsa, and guacamole were a perfect start to our meal. The lively ambience, complemented by beautiful Latin music, made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Our server, Jorge, was friendly and informative, providing great recommendations and ensuring our drinks were always refilled.

We ordered the Camarones a la Diabla, which were bursting with flavor, and the Aji Tuna Tostadas, which, despite being bite-sized, were completely packed with delicious flavor. Despite being in the middle of nowhere, this was my first visit to Danville, and Cielito Cocina Mexicana has given me a great reason to return.

After a fun playground visit with our darling granddaughter (and parents), we proceeded to Danville for brunch at Crumbs. As the place was busy (and with an hour wait), we walked across the street to Cielito Cocina Mexicana.

      CONS - None

      PROS
      1. Spacious and well appointed interior with lots of light. Our table was more than enough room for 4 adults and 1 active kid.

      2. Friendly and attentive service.

      3. Large menu with something for everyone, brunch wise. This "farm to table" restaurant is not your neighborhood enchiladas and refried beans place. And although folks expect chips, they could have removed that bowl without taking away from the cuisine.

      4. My breakfast Torta was very good. Everyone else enjoyed their selections as well.

We have now been to Cielito Cocina Mexicana twice now. We enjoy sitting in the patio but the inside is also very nice.

The margaritas and drinks are very good. Plenty of parking in the surrounding area too.
