I just wanted to find out if a certain store whose name I could not recall was still operating at City Center. I spent half an hour searching the internet for a list of "stores" or "tenants" at the Center, to no avail. This should be the first thing they put up on the website! Shame.

Petco is sort of interesting besides asides it is quite crappy, it basically 10-13 little buildings pin next to 1 another. LOL

Derrick S.Modesto, CA2803Sep 2, 2019I recommend not shopping at City Center because there is a known problem for car break-ins in the parking lot and there isn't any sort of surveillance system in place to deter them. When dealing with this problem myself, the police and security guard (who was nowhere to be found until about 20 minutes after it happened) told me that this occurs on a daily basis. As convenient as this shopping center is, I will not be shopping here until there is some kind of security system in place and I would recommend others to consider doing same.

Still not that great for City Center. It just when will it be as great as Gellert Marketplace, San Bruno Towne Center, Bridgepointe, Pacific Commons Shopping Center, The Fremont Hub, Hacienda Crossings and Persimmon Place, Pacific Pearl in the Bay Area. The remodeling or update does not really help it. It still lacks decor, style and over all looks. Unlike those other shopping center, even the neighborhood and it side streets are NOT that great either a little past Divisadero. It still doe not help make the City Center any better. The other Shopping centers in the Bay Area has great surroundings, decor, style and over all looks. Between Potrero Center and City Center who is worst or are they about the same. Potrero Center also lacks decor, style and over all looks. The neighborhood and it side streets not that great either. It still doe not help make it any better also. What new business has really gone in to that place. When will they think and learn from those shopping centers and it surroundings to be better. The people that has a say and power on making the neighborhood to look better and nicer, not really doing anything about it. Shoppers probably would rather go to the Stonestown Target, IF they can't get to the Colma, Serramonte Center and Tanforan Mall one. Well those that live in the Outer Sunset/Park Side, Inner Sunset, Golden Gate Heights near the Outer Sunset/Park Side and West Portal. Maybe even some in other parts of the Richmond neighborhood. When the Stonestown Galleria Target expand, maybe even more. Because it might have the feel and size of the other Targets.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 1, 2015Previous reviewCity Center 3.0 or just call City Center at Geary Blvd on Masonic Ave is an ok shopping center. There nothing special about it at all. It use to be the old Sears building, after the Sears there closed in the early 90s there was not much there. It was not till a little later that a Office Depot open at the lower back(now the home of ULTA Beauty), a Good Guys and Mervyns opened up. After Good Guys closed up, it spot would always stay empty. Till it time for those once a year shops that opens for a little more then a month and half, like the Halloween shop. After Mervyns started closing up shop in 2008, the spot was most empty, on the street level and second floor. The third floor it had Best Buy the lower back it had Office Depot, the middle back(use to the pick up area for Sears), had shops like Subway, a Best Buy Mobile, local beauty shop and other stuff.
Move forward the shopping center got remodeled for the coming in of the Target store. But décor, style and look is nothing special or anything great about it. There are other shopping centers in the San Francisco Bay Area that look way better and have better décor and style then City Center. Like Gellert Marketplace, San Bruno Towne Center, Bridgepointe Shopping Center and some of the shopping centers in the Tri-Valley. What it should of done is use those shopping centers as a reference guide to remodeling City Center. The near by neighborhood all the way to a little beyond the Kaiser Permanente, but way before Japantown does NOT help City Center either, even it side streets. The whole neighborhood looks and feels like a wearhouse/industrial neighborhood in the east coast states. Just like one of the scenes in the first Dumb and Dumber movie, where the characters drove by one. South San Francisco is consider industrial, but looks way better. It also does NOT help the Kaiser Permanente being there. When patients have to stay at the hospital. Because it kind of don't give a happy feeling, if patients want to look out the window. The neighborhood also don't help, how the inside of the Kaiser Permanente's looks. Unlike the ones at Daly City and South San Francisco, which has the nice suburb office building look and feel to it. That part of the neighborhood gives a some what of a dreary feeling. I have never been to the shopping center at night, but it only Ok at best the night time décor and style. Once again compare to other shopping centers in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The questions is when will shoppers or would they stop driving to Colma or San Bruno for their ULTA Beauty, Target and Best Buy fix. That might be hard to know, depending on the shopper's view where looks nicer and better. Also to them it is it warm and inviting. The neighborhood there all the way to a little beyond the Kaiser Permanente, not really all that warm and inviting, even the side streets. ONLY time will tell, how well business at City Center will do, since opening fall of 2013.
The stores and businesses that are there now are Target, Best Buy, Panera Bread, Subway, ULTA Beauty and City Dentist.
As of 9/30/2017 the Best Buy at City Center has closed up shop. The closing was NOTa big deal, no real big closing sales. All of us from the Outer Sunset/Park side and Richmond will have to see what will be in there. Will they remodel that part of City Center to look nice, that will get shoppers to go there. 
H O.San Francisco, CA037Aug 20, 2019Target and a couple of other junky stores and fast food joints. Dreary and sad. Best Buy closed a while ago, too bad. But they keep building. Why, I don't know. The best things they could do to this dump are: (1) Turn it back into a Sears store which is how it started or (2) tear it all down and turn it back into the cemetery it used to be. Shop someplace else!

Annie Y.Honolulu, HI171Mar 30, 2016We went to target in this shopping center on a Saturday night around 9:00 and our car got broken into in the parking lot. The security for the center seemed unconcerned that our car and another families van both got our windows smashed and things taken from our cars. He told us to call the police. The police of course do not come out for a break in and merely file an online report. As we were waiting for a tow truck, several more cars pulled into the lot to park. We told them NOT to park there. I will NEVER go back to this complex again!
