Beware if you use Panda Parking and the parking attendant might be clueless. Parking here and walking to Golden One is an easy walk. Ease of use getting in the parking lot very easy. Instructions tell you "NOT" TO PUSH BUTTON FOR TICKET STUB. Instead, you have to scan the barcode on your receipt from your smartphone. A person was standing at entrance gate making sure everyone did everything right. I then received another receipt. NEVER A TICKET STUB.

The problem we had was leaving. Instructions say scan the barcode again to leave, and the parking arm will go up. As we were leaving all parking arms were up and two attendants stood there taking everyone's parking ticket stub. My boyfriend was driving and the attendant guy asks for our ticket stub. He tells the attendant we didn't get one, we prepaid. The rude attendant says, "EVERYONE GOT ONE AND YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO KEEP IT UNTIL YOU LEAVE!" He was showing us all the ticket stubs he had in his hand. My boyfriend tries explaining again that we never got a ticket we used the barcode on our phone to get in. So I stupidly try to look for the little receipt, since he apparently wants some paper to hold. Wasted probably five minutes and held up traffic. I couldn't find the paper receipt anywhere in my purse. I had no idea I was supposed to keep it handy for when we left. Can I just show you the receipt on my phone saying we prepaid? He says he has to call over his manager which was standing 6 feet away. My boyfriend explains to her that we NEVER got a parking ticket stub we prepaid and scanned our phone to get in. She says right away, "Oh, they are good to go!"

Now the attendant back tracks and says, "Next time just show me the barcode on your phone."

Uh hello! That's what I offered! You kept insisting for a ticket stub! We kept trying to tell you we prepaid and didn't get one.

If you need a garage that's close to the Old Town and the Railroad Museum, this is closest. (Your other option is the Tower Bridge parking garage.)
Given that it was weekend, we paid the flat weekend rate of $10, (although the City if Sacramento says $15). Upon entering, the attendant gave us ticket and told us to keep the small piece of paper/ticket and to show the QR code upon leaving. (Others mentioned this as a problem, but since it's been awhile that anyone has reviewed this place, I guess they have improved the parking/payment procedures.)

Electric car charging spots (located near disabled parking) they have a Chargepoint machines for you to pay with a credit card or if you have the phone app.

The garage is pretty low so watch your trunk when opening. It's an old garage, but it served our purpose and was safe.

Electric car charging spots (located near disabled parking) with about 6 spots at the bottom level.
Entrance and exit, EV charging and disabled parking spots.

Victor the parking attendant is rude and condescending. He yelled at me for taking my ticket. He said that it was prepay which I misunderstood. Generally with prepay, you pay before you leave the garage at a kiosk. He spoke to me in a condescending manner as if I were a petulant child. I called him out on it and he raised his voice at me.

He is an older man. Gray hair. Balding. Mustache. Hispanic. If you don't like your job, get another one. Clearly you aren't meant for public service.

On August 21, 2024, we parked at the 14th street near the SAFE Convention Center and it was a flat rate of $30. We parked only for about 4-1/2 hours. It was a rip off.

I paid $13 to park at the closest garage for the day on Saturday 10 am until 6 pm. It is across the street from the California Railroad museum. There is free street parking a few blocks away but didn't feel comfortable leaving the car or walking through the area with homeless etc.

First exhibit in the California Railroad Museum.
      Same exhibit different perspective.

The facility is spacious- and good location. Their grace period to pay at the machine, get to your car, and get to the front gate is 5 minutes. Slow car ahead of you? Pay more. Got kids to load in the car? Pay more. Parked at the top level and had to wait for others cars to get the gate? Pay more. Top tip: avoid paying at the machines at the elevators- just pay at the exit gate so you won't have to pay over the grace period.

Feedback: come on, give folks 15 minutes to get their cars packed and make it down to the exit gate safely.

We've been stuck in the Old Sacramento lot for over an hour. It's a Sunday at 4:30pm. There are people who feel unwell and near accidents and no way to get out. I've called the 311 line twice but there's been no movement. It's a very scary situation. If something were to happen, 100s are stuck in a lot with no way to escape. They then proceeded to charge us for the entire time we were in the lot, including the 2 hours we waited.

Four reasons to NEVER USE this parking lot:

      1) Filthy urine soaked 1st floor
      2) 5 min grace period, so turn around quick or you'll be paying $1.50 for a 6 min stay.
      3) $3/hr. (for Sacramento, this is steep)
      4) Obnoxious, condescending (young man) parking attendant.

Horrible "customer service". Terrible policies. We paid $10 to park in Old Town, misplaced our ticket and had to pay $20 more to get out of the parking garage. Mind you, there were attendants collecting payment to get into the garage. There was no way we could have snuck into the garage. The manager was extremely rude, unhelpful and unprofessional- how she is a manager, I will never know. They had to file a claim to let us out of the parking garage which included taking down our drivers license information and collecting more money. Ridiculous

This was a secure parking lot in a safe location. Why the 1 star? The grace period between the self check-out and final booth is only 5 minutes. I was shocked and confused when the attendant requested an additional $1.50 for parking after I had surrendered my paid parking ticket. Getting from the machine, to the third floor, and then idling in my car as 2 cars were being processed took me a whopping 12 minutes. There's no way I could've done that in less than 5 minutes. Usain Bolt couldn't have done it in 5 minutes. Anyone who has to load a wheelchair couldn't have done it in 5 minutes. Han Solo could do the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs, but the 5 minute City of Sac Public Parking run - impossible!
