Chanced upon this neat bookstore at SFO when we flew Virgin Airlines, it was our first time at this terminal. We mostly browsed the kids section with my preschooler. The selection was extensive and they even had toy airplanes and a lot of aviation-themed children's books. This would be great for parents who were trying to get their kids interested or at ease with flying or traveling. The best part is all the books on sale and there were quite a few! We ended up bringing home a heavy bag of quality books at a fraction of market price.

I always like having magazines to read when on a plane. The roommate and I were flying to Miami, so I decided to stop by Compass Books on Saturday, September 2nd around 9:30pm to browse.

They had a pretty good selection of magazines. I ended up getting a Travel & Leisure, a San Francisco, and a Glamour magazine. I guess each one appealed to a different side of me. The travel one, the inner fattie one, and the shopping one. I believe prices charged are the ones on the magazine, so unless I made my way to a store that provides discounts on the listed prices, I didn't pay any more. Check out was fast and easy. Our cashier was very nice.

Convenient if you're flying out of Terminal 2 and need some last minute reading material.

I remember the first time I walked by this place back in the Summer of 2017. I was about to embark on a plane to Las Vegas, Nevada all by myself fo the very first time.I got the feeling that I was home. I used to love going to book stores back in the late 90s, while I was in high school! Knowledge is, definitely, power!
The terminal used to be for Virgin Airlines. One entire terminal all for Virgin Air. Now, of course, it's owned by Alaska Airlines.

For an airport bookstore you can't get much better than this. They are somehow related to Books Inc which you can find in the city. This place has a decent selection of titles and a suprisingly good selection of discounted books. When I get off the plane before I get my luggage and as I arrive in the terminal for my flight this is the stop I make. The folks working there are quite helpful.

I love that this bookstore is one of the first stores after security (United terminal). After righting myself from the indignities of security check, it's nice to get to Compass for a book or magazine for the upcoming trip. Unlike the other newstands-cum-convenience stores throughout the terminal, Compass is -- hallelujah -- a full-fledged bookstore with a huge selection of fiction, nonfiction, various periodicals and smaller areas for food, health, history, gifts, cards, games, etc.

A recent purchase: _The Geography of Bliss: One Grumps Search for the Happiest Places in the World_.

They appear to have less room for features like Staff Picks and other recommendations -- the fiction section tends to have just book after book after book lined up side by side, so it could be a bit difficult to discover your next great read unless you already have a selection in mind... nonetheless, I'm glad that Compass Books exists at SFO.

For someone who travels all over the world, I appreciate a good bookstore with a ton of selections at an airport. This bookstore will satisfy every type of reader. There are the newest and most popular selections, lots of children's books, murder mysteries, puzzles, you name it. The employees are friendly and welcoming and quick to help with any suggestions. Aside from quality, I also look for quantity in a bookstore within an airport. Half the time you run into a book shortage where the store is out of a new bestseller. Not this bookstore though! A huge abundance of anything and everything you're looking for. Make sure you stop on over to this bookstore if you're in this terminal. Or make the trek if you're not- it'll be worth it

Another Terminal 2 @ San Francisco Airport gem! This refined bookstore is stocked with everything one might want to read. For this example, me, it has classic fiction in most recent press, a great selection of graphic novels, countless magazines, children's books, doohickies and what not. A personal touch is added with a wide range of employee recommendations. One could spend hours in here before a flight. I don't even have a bookstore like this within fifty miles of my home!

The staff at Compass Books / Books Inc. went out of their way to help me find a book I needed before boarding a plane. This is a great set of bookstores, whether in or out of an Airport, but to have such a wonderful bookstore inside of an airport is pretty amazing. I was looking for a particular tour guide for where I was heading at very short notice. I called around bookstores the day before leaving and nobody had it in stock, except for this bookstore. But this set of stores is located in two of the domestic terminals and I was leaving from the international terminal. They arranged to make sure all the staff were aware I needed the book, and they told me how to get from the international terminal to the area outside of security in the domestic terminal, and then they came out to meet me with the book since I wouldn't be able to go through security in a terminal where I didn't have a flight.

The book proved tremendously useful, and I'm very thankful for all their help. You just can't beat a bookstore with such a great selection and such helpful people!!
