So spacious, portion size is huge, and speedy service!

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and we had a private room with karaoke service. The meat dishes + the meat in the congee is a bit salty, but everything else was very yummy!

Would recommend getting a reservation beforehand because it does get crowded fast!

This is an absolutely amazing place and I can rep this as a cantonese person myself but it is insanely high quality food here. If you share a table you wait much less than if you were to get a private table and we were just sat next to a couple of 2 so it's definitely not private but definitely doable! The table is so large it won't even matter. The restaurant itself is wooden and reminds me of an old timey bar.

We got 3 non alcoholic drinks to begin with and i must say the lychee ice is the best as it contains condensed milk. I got the honeydew juice and our friend got a regular orange juice.

From top to bottom, these were our favorite foods

Crab - we got the cold version and it was so fresh tasting and was the highlight of the meal. it made us all happy

Half crispy chicken - my all time favorite, absolutely so crispy and so worth while and tasty

fried noodles - my all time favorite as well... this was done so well because typically places that are actually cantonese will make the noodles thin and crispy, other places have regular noodles.

String beans - so flavorful! I highly recommend these!

Fried Buns - a classic and so good

Honestly everything was sooooo good and I just cannot hold my positivity for this place. At the end you'lln get an herbal jelly after finishing the meal as a complimentary dessert which is a cantonese classic!

Been going here for years for big family celebrations. Super fast and super delicious Cantonese cooking. Has corkage fee so we generally just get a few bottle of beers. Speedy service , not the friendliest but I'm not there for friendly- just to eat

Favorite dishes - crispy chicken, salt fried squid, whole fish, lobster

Clean but annoying that bathrooms require stair use- bad for elderly

Always a solid food choice in Chinatown. Large portions and great options for veggies. We went early for dinner however once we left there was a huge crowd waiting for a table. So a tip is to definitely arrive early! This is large restaurant with multiple floors and many large tables, I feel like it caters more to large groups.

We ordered the water spinach in bean paste, tofu in soy sauce and the mushroom noodles. I loved the water spinach, who doesn't love this classic! The tofu was also very well cooked with a nice roasted texture outside, not fried. However the mushroom noodles dish was literally just a bowl of noodles. It barely had any mushrooms. Overall the prices are good, portions are huge and all shareable.

This place is my go-to restaurant for family gatherings. The design of this restaurant is "sea" themed I believe because there's a small water area where you can see fish swimming around and there's a wooden staircase to enter the upstairs dining.

The employees are extremely nice and recently our lobster fried rice did take a couple of extra minutes to come out. However, the staff handled the situation properly and we also got complimentary fruit and sweet soup which was nice. The food here is flavorful and perfect for family-style.

My friends and I have a Sunday Funday moment where we just invite a slew of ppl for hh at $1/$1.50 oysters place of choice. Usually we end up at Grey Lady. Usually we just call it after there, but for some reason my friend who normally does not feel like eating decided she wanted to eat. I already had a big plate of fried fish and salad, but one cannot say no to Chinese food. My other friend regulars this place and swears on it.

I've only really gotten take out from this place for congee, which they messed up more than gotten right. So I was a bit skeptical. We got the following:

      - Jelly fish: cold dish and my mom and I normally fight for this stuff. We are fine with the chinese version, but we love the Korean version. This was good. Not to the point I would seek this place out for it, but it was well did. With some vinegar, it hit the spot. Ladies, jelly fish is full of collagen is very low in calories so stuff your face!

      - fried frog legs: the smell is obscene, but not like durian. I must say, having it fried is a good gateway to frog legs if you have not had it like I have. My friend who ordered it and loves frog legs thought there was a sauce with this dish, but I guess. Anything is delicious with vinegar

      - braised beef: this was fine. It probably cost the most, but I wasn't all that impressed. Not sure if it was bc I was already full from eating at another place, but at best it was fine.

      - some "special" noodles: according to my friend's friend, this is a special moment. I am not sure if special means dry and bland, but it was an uglier cousin of lo mein, which we love.

      - chicken: think it was a baked chicken? dry.

Overall, I think this place is fine. The jelly fish I would get again as well as the congee. The rest, I am not all the concerned about getting them again or not.

We came here with a private room booked out for a birthday dinner. The space was enough for 20 people with a $800 minimum spend. We had a variety of dishes and pitchers of cocktails. The cocktails included lychee martini and mai tai, which were both refreshing and strong. For food, we had Honey Walnut Jumbo Shrimp ($24.95), Baked Salted Chicken in Country ($33.95 for whole), Sweet & Sour Pork ($20.95), Sauteed String Beans in Garlic ($18.95), Pan Fried Bean Curd with Soy Sauce ($16.95), Young Chow Fried Rice with Pork & Shrimp ($16.95), Beef Chow Fun Noodle ($18.95), Small Juicy Bun in Shanghai Style (6pcs for $8.95), and Steamed Egg Custard Buns (3pcs $5.95). There was plenty of food for everyone and it was all tasty and filling. In typical Chinese standards, this can be a bit pricey but the location is clean, nice, and somewhat fancy. Plus, each room has its own karaoke as well for entertainment.

Overall, definitely great spot for big parties that includes food, drinks, and entertainment. The drinks are strong, which is a plus in my book. All the food was good and would reorder it all again. The birthday host did a wonderful job choosing all the dishes with all the variety they offer here. I am intrigued to try the congee in the future since it is called Congee Village afterall.

Came here on a Thursday night for dinner with friends. My friend kept raving about how this is his favorite childhood Cantonese restaurant and I can actually grasp a feeling of that when we walked in and saw how family oriented this restaurant was! It was packed on a Thursday night with lots of families or groups of friends and karaoke was going strong downstairs. This place is pretty big, so it holds a lot of people but it's also busy and can be slow. Our service was on the slower end when it came to waiting to be seated, to place an order for food, and even to be served (45 min wait?!). We ordered the snow peas leaf with mushrooms and steamed chicken & frog with black mushrooms. The snow peas came out lukewarm with was disappointing after waiting for 45 mins. It was still full of flavor though. Then the steamed chicken & frog dish came out 15 mins after! We think they must've forgotten about it until we reminded them. But our expectations fell short of this place because our dishes were both lukewarm, frog was overcooked, and service ran slow. I still want to give this place another try and order something else considering the hype it gets from the locals. Maybe I'll be back.

I've been keen to come by this longtime Cantonese LES staple since it was recommended to me a few months ago, and I finally had the chance to come for dinner on a recent Saturday.

I read that they can be a bit busy on weekends (esp for dinner) so I called ahead and made a reservation for the 5 or us; when we got there, they said they didn't have our reservation (screams) but there would be a table for us in ~10 min. Mildly annoying but it's fine. Ultimately they took us to one of those secluded side rooms in the back. Pros: privacy. Cons: hard to get the servers' attention and some machine? vent? was pretty loud in there.

Of course we had to get some of their namesake congees (which are so cheap?); we ordered the pork/preserved egg congee, sampan congee, and mixed veggie congee to share. All the congees were very standard fare - not too thick or watery, flavourful, and portions were filling. We liked the pork and preserved egg congee the most; pork was juicy and the preserved egg came in generous portions. The sampan congee was a bit of a miss; the meat was really hard to chew and came with a lot of tendon, and the fish was pretty bland.

Also, a warning for any fellow cilantro-haters: they add cilantro as a garnish on top of the congee (which I've never seen before !!)

Other than that, we also ordered

      - scallion pancakes: pretty generic. I like that they were thin and crispy (a lot of Chinese-American restaurants make them wayyy too thick for my taste)

      - cantonese sweet pancake: undescriptive name aside, this was actually SO delicious. the lightly sweet filling and the coconut flavour went so well with the crispy pancake wrapper - we wolfed this down in an instant

      - xiaolongbao ("small juicy bun in shanghai style"): the wrappers were thick and broke easily. the fillings / broth were passable at best, not very flavourful

      - eggplant and bamboo fungus with bean curd: yummy! the bean curd was nice and chewy and the bamboo and eggplant had pretty good flavours, although they tended to be a bit too overcooked/soft. the sauce was not bad but a bit too heavy

      - stewed pork with preserved vegetables: the pork slices were surprisingly good - savoury and tender, although it tended to be saltier and oilier than I would have liked. The preserved veggies that the pork sat on were
*really* oily (kind of soaking up all the oil from the dish at the bottom of the bowl) and kind of bland otherwise

Overall good value for sure (it came out to a little more than $22 per person), although I would say that there's definitely better Chinese/Cantonese food elsewhere. If I do come again, I'd probably just stick to the pork and preserved egg congee

Food: The food was amazing! This was my first Chinese restaurant being back in the states from living abroad and it hit all the nostalgia points!! The regular size of congee is a decent share size for a small party but not enough for everyone to get seconds so recommend the larger size! The green beans were perfect! The beef was perfect! The dinner overall was perfect!

Service: The service is decent, and the food arrives piping hot! The waiters are attentive when tea runs out and always brings a fresh pot. We were told the wait was going to be 10min but it ended up being less than 5 which was also a plus!
