Contra Costa Pavers Stone and Landscapers did an excellent job on our deck. They demolished our ragged old deck, transported all the waste away and we now have a wonderful back deck. We were very impressed with Cathy's ( the Project Manager) skills and artistic design that was completed by the working team of this company. Both Gerardo and Cathy produced a great addition and improvements to our home. In addition to having a great deck, we have a fire feature and a beautiful fence around the deck. We are very grateful for the wonderful work and professionalism they provided and highly recommend this company. Five star rating for the design and excellent work

We hired Alex and his team a couple years ago to do pavers. We had them come back and install turf for us after we got quotes from a few places. They were timely and responsive, constantly giving us updates on what work they would be doing and when they would be at our house. Alex went beyond our expectations to do more work than we had even agreed upon to make sure that the job was completed to his expectations (which were beyond ours). They installed high quality turf, installed a rock/ fire pit area, and re-grouted our patio as part of the warranty from years before. They did a complete job.

The team was very professional and friendly. They cleaned the mess upon completion of the work. I would highly recommend them as they were flexible with changes and worked with my wife to make sure that everyone got what they wanted within the budget/quote.

Quality and progression of work were decent with a few hiccups occurring along the way. Work was delayed due to the pandemic, which was understandable. My main complaint is with the designer Cathy. She has a VERY nasty attitude that soured an otherwise good experience with the company. When the issue of a mismatched paver piece was brought to the attention of Cathy, she became hostile and refused to rectify the issue. The issue had to be escalated to the owner Alex before the problem was corrected. I would not do business with this company again based on my negative interaction with the designer.

They did a good job with my backyard. Grass and pavers, just a simple design. They met my deadline and the worked efficiently. However, minus 2 stars because they left this oil stain in front of my driveway. My security cameras showed it came from their vehicles. Unfortunately, it's the first thing you see when you approach my house. Defeats the whole purpose of the nice backyard. Oil stain on concrete is hard to remove, they sent someone to clean it up but obviously, it's still very visible.

Just sending a note of thanks for all you and your staff did to design and build our backyard. The men you sent showed great attention to details and craftsmanship. I must say given my budget and your price, they managed to provide us with exactly what we've asked of them. My water wall looks fantastic and just as I had in mind. Thanks for giving life to my ideas. I highly recommend working with Cathy and her crew.

Overall, my experience was great with these guys. They are professional and very good at what they do. However, like any project, there were great times and some bumps along the way. So here is a list of + and -. I encourage you to use them keeping these in mind. I really wanted to give them a 5 but a few hiccups cost them a star. I know they are a professional group that will remedy these hiccups moving forward.

Positives:
1) Cathy did a great job capturing my requirements and style
2) Gerardo Martinez is an artist. He takes pride in his work and it shows!
3) The guys are extremely hard working and friendly

Areas that could have been improved:
1) Project dragged towards completion - because they started taking on new projects. I am not a fan of the ball being dropped and this happened for a few weeks towards the end.
2) The grout between the pavers came loose after some heavy rains and got messy. They redid the work and I was asked to pay additional $ to seal the pavers. In my opinion, this should have been baked in right from the get go. I did ask about it and was told this wasn't necessary.
3) The water line that was run to the plants was taken off the wrong water feed (soft water). By the time we noticed this, all the pavers were in place. I am partially at fault for not catching this early but as a reputed contractor, they should have thought about this.

All in all, they did a great job and I recommend them to anyone on the lookout for a good landscaping team.

The Contra Costa Pavers crew recently completed a new walkway, replaced the brick facade on our house with cultured stone, and updated our patio to match. Cathy was very patient and offered a lot of great advice and was generous with her time as we made our selections. Having used another company for the pavers in our backyard, which had quality issues, I had a lot questions about the prep and installation process. They answered all my questions and were meticulous in the installation. I was impressed with the depth they went to preparing the surfaces - including pouring a new concrete retaining wall for our patio! As with any pavers installation, the truth is in the longevity but it was clear they are a detail oriented crew. We're really happy with the outcome and the facelift their work gave our little house and would recommend them without hesitation for anyone looking for some paver or stone work.

Contra Costa Pavers Stone & Landscaping did a fantastic job on our front yard, converting it into a beautifully designed hard-scape. Since the front yard is the first thing one sees, we had a bit of anxiety about how things would turn out. However, we worked closely with their designer, Anders, who was patient, professional and very competent. I had a lot of questions, and he worked with me on the initial concept, but welcomed my ideas. Once the design and pricing was agreed upon, the job was scheduled and started timely. Alex lead the team, keeping things moving throughout and he and Anders kept me up to date.

The proof of any landscape/hard-scape job is how it comes out, and they delivered! My wife and I love the final product and highly recommend this company. If we have any further outdoor landscaping or paving projects I would not hesitate calling Contra Costa Pavers Stone & Landscaping again.

Girardo and his team are extremely hard working and take pride in their work. They were super respectful and had great attention to detail.

We cannot recommend this team enough.

Our property is huge. The backyard was way under developed and mostly weeds and rocks and overgrown plants. We decided to do the upgrade in steps. The first was the actual patio area. But this left a part of the yard that was mostly rocks and undeveloped nothing. We had Contra Costa Pavers Stone & Landscape work with us and help design what we would do for this next phase. Several plans were discussed. But we finally decided we needed some color. So they set aside two areas where we ended up having fake grass installed. Along with this, we had two other areas where we had plants placed to add some color along with a walkway. We were actually out of town after the work began and when we arrived home, the yard looked amazing! Low maintenance and lots of color. Very impressed with the work that was done!!!

It would not have been a successful project if it hadn't been for the Project Manager/Designer, Cathy Strahan. She not only did most of the design, she also supervised the work while we were out of town. An excellent choice for this work!!!

After researching a several different options and companies, we felt confident about our decision to go with Contra Costa pavers to create a new patio for our backyard. Our project was to remove and replace our old, cracked concrete with a larger, more functional patio space. Cathy was instrumental in helping us select the right pavers and outline the space while staying within our budget. During the planning process, Cathy and Gerardo identified the need for a step due to the slant in our yard. Other companies never mentioned this step, which could have posed a major issue down the road. We are thankful for Cathy and Gerardo's years of experience and detailed eye for the design process.

In addition, Cathy communicated with us throughout the process and whenever there were hiccups along the way, she made sure they were resolved in a timely and professional manner. Gerardo and his team were punctual and worked hard to ensure our patio was completed within the timeframe they quoted. At times some supervision by my husband or me was necessary. For example, there were times when we had the team replace/adjust certain stones to make sure everything was level. They are always agreeable and willing to meet our requests. Contra Costa Pavers really exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to transform their yard!
