Great gated dog park and 360 view of SF. I go here 4 times a week with the dog and I just love this dog park because it's gates, the people are cool, the dogs are fun and it's mostly mulch on the ground with a small muddy patch towards the back. There are also big trunks of trees if you want to do some agility training with your dogs. You can meander up the rocky out crop and check out the view...it's wonderful!

Took my little one here to play and hike months ago. The view is lovely here, but lots of active coyotes warning signs all over the mountain when we visited. Also some areas here are very steep and I don't recommend coming here when it's raining as the area can get very slippery. The dog run area is okay. Lots of room for the little one to run around, but I probably won't bring him back because it's out of the way for us, and for the other concerns I listed above.

Nice park with good views. It's a bit of a hike depending on which side you go on but there's a nice 360 view of the city.

I can't tell you how many times we've driven by. We never noticed this park. It's located adjacent to the Randall Museum.

With the current pandemic a group of us have been riding our e-bikes throughout the City.

Today we made a stop here. There are a series of steps to the top where you can take in breathtaking views. Allow a few minutes to walk up. What fantastic views. And on we were here on a clear gorgeous afternoon.

So beautiful. We are so fortunate to live in the City

** The following review reflects my experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. **

This is one of those oddly placed spots in the city that I had heard of every now and then but never bothered visiting. At least until the pandemic hit and I was desperately looking for some variety in my walking paths. Even though I've been walking to the Castro almost weekly, I had not ventured much north of Market because I figured most of it was residential and hell, I had already been to Buena Vista Park several times. In fact, I had to use my GPS to find this place because it's not really visible to ignorant locals like myself.

I had mistakenly entered the isolated area where the playground and rock climbing wall are (photo: https://bit.ly/2HtfzzZ). In order to get to the top, I then figured out I had to walk up a narrow stairwell on Flint and around the tennis courts in order to follow the dirt path upward. A long series of stepwise railroad ties led me up to the craggy summit where I got a much clearer view of downtown than the one you get at Buena Vista. Apparently this formation was once a quarry, and it still has that vibe. The walk up and around the top was short and certainly worthwhile for vista point junkies.

tl;dr: Great little park with good views of the city at the peak. Also, ideal for dog owners.

You'll able to see the Golden Gate bridge, Bay, and the ocean. Depending on what path you take, you may want to wear hiking shoes as it can get a bit muddy. I would avoid the path up the park near the tennis courts if you have mobility issues as it's quite rocky and steep.
If you're just here to walk, it would probably take you about 30 minutes, so not necessarily a place to come if you're looking for a long hike.
The park itself is very popular area for dog lovers and there's a dog park that was filled with 10-15 dogs.

One of the best views in the city. Epic experience. Sit atop a rock and ponder the surrounding beauty. Native plants blooming all over. A coyote sanctuary. Other reviewers leaving mediocre reviews are basing on personal hiking experience... this is nothing but a 5-star location , the hike isn't long or super easy but that really shouldn't reflect in "stars" -- nowhere does this say anything but a park. If you want to review a hike, go to a specific hiking trail and review that. Leave this park out of your biased hiking reviews, it's a gem and deserves to be treated as one. It's a place to focus on enjoying the views and nature, not focus on working out. If you want an epic "hike" -- go to Tennessee Valley trail in Marin.

Beautiful views of the city! The entrance was definitely a bit hard to find. We parked on Castro and walked up Beaver.

We did this hike with our baby which was a little tricky because there were some parts that had tiny rocks which might be dangerous if you aren't really watching each step etc.

However there were some very nice shots along the way and it's a little hidden gem.

Rocky hills in middle of the city. The map at the entrance shows easy , moderate , challenging routes. If you're in decent physical shape , you can easily do all three levels of routes . You can climb onto the huge clusters of boulders at the peak if you are not vertigo like me , but be safe it's SUPER windy especially at the peak.

Pro: sweeping view of the city , Sutro Tower . Not as crowded as the Twin Peaks. Close from Buena Vista Park

      Park rating : 5/5

Stroller friendly: not so much since even on the flat surface at the bottom , the surface is filled with mulches.
      ADA friendly: unfortunately no

One of my favorite views of the city! It only takes about a 10-15 minute walk up a hill for beautiful 360 degree views. There's also a dog park on one side of this hill.

We were looking for a nice place to walk while visiting in SF and found this place. It was a beautiful park with wide trails and lots of stairs, but it's worth it with amazing views the whole way up. There's even a place at the very top that has 360° views. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy, so it was easy to social distance even when passing others. Going up and down took about 45 minutes total -- it's a fairly short trail with easy parking on the street nearby.
