The movers were very slow and sloppy in their work. They took much longer than what you might reasonably expect . Spent time sitting in the truck until I kept going down to see why it's taking 30 mins to move boxes I could have moved myself in 5 minutes.
What should have been a 350$ move cost me 650+ because of just how blatantly slow they were.
Do not recommend. It is intentional as they cost is per hour.
Edit : The owner has responded to my post below with false information - my unit had elevators right next to it which were reserved by me for the duration of the move. While heavier things like couches take time, moving a dolly down 2 floors with an elevator next to the door does take less than 5 minutes - even if you are not 'Superman'
I moved in the same stuff on my own last year help of a friend without the equipment and just a small uhaul and the owner feels that as a professional company with experience and equipment they need a couple hours more than two college students - you are better off going with movers who are better at what they do.
Just sharing this - also I'm surprised that the owner is responding with false information and satire instead of asking more about what went wrong. Not a good sign all around.
I just saw more reviews and looks like this is a recurring theme - unprofessional/take wayy more time than anyone else/owner gaslighting the people who complain and responding with false or misrepresented info.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Movers fully packed and moved 1 br apartment from 3rd floor with 4 flights of stairs to another unit with 2 flights of stairs and 40 min double driving time in 5 hours. We are surprised that you still unhappy. According to GOOGLE it normally takes 2-3 hours to pack plus 3-5 hours to move plus double driving time. Your move was completed in 5 hours including double driving time, that's much faster than any average move like yours.
A person who would be able to move all your boxes from 3rd floor via 4 flights of stairs in 5 min would set unbeatable world record. Unfortunately we do not have the SuperMan in our crew, but we have professional movers who worked very hard and completed your move much faster that any other job like yours. We are sorry to hear that you were still unhappy after our hard work, and did not even call us to address any issues.

They were good on time and efficiency. HOWEVER, WATCH OUT FOR THEIR FEE. They charge DOUBLE the driving time. So they charged me the time for them to Go Home after the work was done. It was a bad move on their business strategy.
Overall the movers guys were good and friendly. They are cool. The company is not consumers friendly. They charge us something we are not familiar with. Yes they did mention it once on our conversation. But with typical average consumer, we do not understand all their terminologies or names of whatever they call their fees are for, or whatever the state mandates. It is THEIR responsibility to fully Explain it to customers. They did not and pulled out that charge at the end. Put a bad look on their reputation. No wonder they don't have the best reviews on yelp.
Not recommend these guys. I rather pay More for other companies who are transparent.

Double driving time - is not an extra fee, that’s CA State law all moving companies have to charge for drive time on all local moves ( your destination was almost an hour away from pick up) . Your total job time including double driving was only 3 hr 30 min (with 3 hr minimum) , that’s only 30 min more that minimum
I personally have sent you a message via Yelp (you’ve requested a quote via Yelp messenger) in written where I’ve explained this regulation prior to booking. Once you have provided your phone number and email - I’ve sent you this information by text and email . Once you’ve called us back to book - Edgar has told you about double driving time on a recorded line (I’ve sent you the call recording and screenshots per your request ) prior to scheduling the move. You have read and signed the estimate online and the day of the move driver also told about the double driving time. We’ve tried to delivery this information to you by Yelp , text , email , phone conversation and in person , we are very sorry that it was not clear enough for you.
I will try to explain double driving one more time . please don’t mistake it with the time that we spend to drive home
This it the copy of the text we’ve sent you several times and explained over the phone :
According to Bureau of Household Goods and Services provisions, driving time between pick-up and delivery addresses is doubled (for example: if driving time from point A to point B is 15 minutes - the double driving time will be calculated as 30 minutes).
If other companies didn’t explain this to you - means they are not as transparent as we are because we’ve tried to explain in all possible ways (Yelp , text, email, phone conversation - prior to scheduling )
We are sorry that you unhappy with double driving time - but it’s a STATE LAW, which we must follow.

1 br move. Crew was courteous and careful to ensure no damages. Booking was easy and Edgar & James accommodated a larger truck request just 1 day before the move. Had some concerns with the time we were charged for, but James at customer service got back promptly to make it right. Recommend these guys, great customer service!

Nice try in your attempt trying to diminish your switch and bait tactics. Also, no attempt was made to still gain my business. I am writing to formally address the recent moving service provided by Cube Movers Inc. on May 27th, which was rescheduled from the originally agreed-upon date of May 27th. I contracted your company for moving services between the hours of 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. However, the move was internally changed by Cube Movers to May 28th without prior agreement, resulting in considerable confusion and inconvenience.
Upon calling your office, I was informed that the change was due to overbooking, which was not communicated to me in advance. Nonetheless, your team was accommodating, and the movers arrived at 3:15 PM, beginning work at 3:30 PM. The total duration of the move was 9.5 hours at a quoted rate of $109 per hour, amounting to $1,030.
Before the movers left at 12:45am, they contacted their employer to confirm the total cost, and I was informed that the charge would be at an overtime charge at $178 per hour after 6:00 PM, plus additional costs for supplies. This rate was never communicated or agreed upon beforehand. According to California state law, overtime is charged at $150 per hour after eight hours of work. The lack of transparency and unexpected cost adjustments are highly unprofessional and seem to exploit the consumer.
The initial agreement quoted $109 per hour, yet I was ultimately charged $1,509. This includes a rate adjustment to $119 per hour for the first 2.5 hours and $178 per hour thereafter, which was never authorized. As a consumer, I feel this was misleading and unfair. It is the responsibility of Cube Moving to contact the customer and let them know over-time charges will be applied. I asked all evening long to the team here why are they working so long? I asked if they could do it tomorrow as it was very late. The Restricted Hours of Construction San Diego Municipal Code Section 59.5.0404. is from 7am to 7pm. Why would you allow your employees to work overtime and charge the client on the backend without their approval or knowledge is down right unethical and should have all stars removed, all positive reviews removed and the industry of moving companies should be quite happy to know that there is a company out there taking advantage of women alone moving, single moms, elderly people, families is such a scary situation to be in.
My favorite part is they caused over $12k in damages in flooring repairs, furniture damages, hidden items the movers themselves broke, removed refrigerator door handles and took them with them, not a single floor blanket was used. The amount of wrapping they charged me for, they put on my box springs was over 7 times wrapped with my mattress not wrapped and drug in the dirt. Every single item is scratched, broken, PERMEANT DAMAGE I will never be able to fix or recoup my costs. The movers were so incredibility slow, I even fed them to speed them up. I begged them to stop and come back. They said they were booked and I wouldn't be able to get my items because they will be locked in their storage until someone can be scheduled to move. This is In fact "fraudulently misleading" to any consumer as well as myself and I am sure literally others this is a buyers beware as well as the most unethical people I have ever dealt with. I was told to "DEAL WITH IT" .. James and Edgar who run Cube Moving should be fired without a doubt. Angi's list is completely aware of their fraudulent activities. Luckily I have a witness to all of their wrong doings.
I requested that we come to a mutually agreeable resolution promptly. They denied all of my requests. I have everything documented and will continue my quest to let everyone know that there are other reputable companies out there that actually CARE.
AGAIN, BUYER BEWARE these guys are untrustworthy and I am worried knowing others like myself (Single Mom) moving to have men in her home until almost 1am. Somehow they have no problem putting others lives at risk as well. Where is the protection for this in their contract?
I have all the events documented and a witness to all the wrongdoings. If these issues are not addressed and resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter to relevant consumer protection agencies and pursue legal action.
I love also how they blame the customer as well. I attached a few pics of the damages so everyone could see the quality of service you provide. Here are 4 of 61 photos of damaged goods. The main point of this REVIEW is "BAIT AND SWITCH" I was lied too, taken advantage of and the cost in damages far exceeds any of the costs you charged me to move. Oh and Edgar I did ask your guys in front of my witness to leave many times. I would like to add the recorded calls and texts are not recorded when you call my cell phone and talk live. We feel your disappointment because you have lost your claim through the Homeadvisor. What happened to your honesty ? Let’s check the facts:
1. You’ve booked a job on 5/28 ( we have calls recorded, text and email confirmations sent and confirmed by yourself) , but you’ve messed up the date and asked for last minute accommodation on 5/27 , which we provided by arriving same day on a short notice ( you’ve said many times “thank you” that day )
2. You’ve ordered to move 1 room from a house , but guys entered up moving 5 bedroom house till 1 o’clock in the morning that day with no complaints
3. You were advised about overtime in written by email , that you have signed and agreed to terms and conditions (as a business owner you’ve told me personally that you know overtime state regulations )
4. Angi aware of this situation and took Cube moving side after they have received all documents and recorded calls , that’s why you went on Yelp and posted this misleading review here
5. The next day after the move I (James) talked to you for an hour and you’ve said only great things about professionalism and hard work of our employees .
Overtime excess was only $220 ( that’s excluding the discount you have received for working at night), still considering your situation (divorce, sickness of family member, moving out of family house ) I’ve offered you 50% discount on overtime and refunded you $110 back . You were so nice that day that you’ve Decided instead of taking that money to give them to movers $55 each as extra tip ( I’ve got your verbal request to do so on a recorded line ) . Movers even reached out to you next day to thank you for such gratitude.
What happened to you after that day ? What caused you to turn 180 degrees in opposite direction? Family problems or something else ?
You’ve lost a dispute with Angi already , and we don’t know why do you try to blackmail a business on Yelp that did so much for you (and you were so greatfull with me on the phone ).
For about an hour you were telling me only positive and heart warming wards about our help and professional service.
We hope you will find a common sense and will delete this misleading review.

As you can see by the business response - Customer Service is not a priority. If you'd like to deal with a company that responds this way to prospective clients.
My issue wasn't affordability and my move was not on Memorial Day weekend. Nice try in your attempt trying to diminish your switch and bait tactics. Also, no attempt was made to still gain my business. You want to get customers from Groupon then flip them into pulling full price.

We are sorry to hear that you couldn’t afford to pay for 3 hours minimum with 10% discount that was offered. Also , we do not have Groupons available every day (please find it in groupon terms and conditions) and we are sorry that we didn’t have it available on a Memorial Day (holidays rates are much higher in general). We’ve tried our best and offered the most affordable option on a different day, unfortunately you have declined it also because it outside of your budget.
UPDATE: your whole complain was about the money . 3 hours was too expensive for you (we have it on the recoded line ) . I called the first one that called me. I thought it was fair. Since it's a simple move a small one bedroom apartment with four heavy items one closet and a couple of TVs. First floor on both moves, door to door. No long walks. Three hour minimum and fuel fee $317.
I thought ok let me do my due diligence and see if I can find a deal. So I stumble on Groupon.
I text him to let him know I saw this on Groupon and he just shuts me down. "We are Sold out on Groupon" I beg to differ, obviously it's available since it's still being sold.
I would not use this company if the booking agent is giving conflicting information and is not honoring this promotion. I'm sure it would of been nice to charge me full price. But this is a promotion by your company not something I made up. - Apr 18, 2023
Two thumbs up for Cube Moving and Storage!!! My group of friends started using Cube Moving and Storage about four years ago at the recommendation of one of our friends. Since then four of us have now used their services and I see no reason to shop anywhere else.
My girlfriend and I moved into our new place from Escondido to Sabre Springs this past weekend and the guys that helped us, Chris, Derek and Mikail were all great to work with. They showed up on time in a big truck and wasted no time getting to work. Although my girlfriend's last place was only two bedrooms, she and her daughter had a decent amount of stuff and these guys got everything that wasn't already boxed wrapped and protected, down four flights of stairs and to our new house in 6 hours flat. It likely would have taken me and four of my strongest, beer-bellied friends double that and we would've incurred no less than twelve broken items and at least one trip to the ER.
All joking aside, these guys were great. They were all hard workers, communicative with us as well as each other and they took care of the most frustrating and difficult part of moving. I would have zero hesitation hiring them again for our next move in a year or two and I will continue the referrals to them to friends and coworkers.
