    • Q:

There are two egg custard buns on the menu, what is the difference between the steamed egg custard bun and the lava bun?

      A:

Lava bun is more runny. It's a salty egg custard bun if you've ever had that.

Step into this amazing dim sum place and experience the warmth and kindness of the owner and staff! Their soulful food is a testament to their passion for cooking and bringing people together. I've been coming here since the pandemic and they've always made me feel special, treating me like family. Don't miss out on their delicious dishes, especially their Hong Kong egg tart and pineapple smoothie with boba. It's a place that will leave you feeling uplifted and inspired. Don't miss out!

The restaurant itself is so relaxing and calming and it feels like home. So visit them and show them love

They have shown me so much love! I appreciate them so much over the years

Every time I come into town from Washington state to visit my family I always come to get their amazing dim sum and see how they are doing!

Thank you for treating with kindness

The cleanliness of this place has gone way downhill with their workers not understanding health code. Full training and inspection is necessary.
I ordered some Dim Sum today and got home and discovered one of our shrimp dumpling contained a piece of metal wire most likely from the wire sponge they use for washing utensils. I'm glad it not being eaten by us or our grand babies.
      Reporting to health department!

The service was nice and friendly. We ordered coconut and taro boba milk teas and the taro had powder clumps in the drink.

The actual food was disappointing. The rice rolls had no flavor or seasoning. The pork rolls with black bean sauce were served in a to go container that was full of oil. Overall not worth the price or try.

I've been coming to this dim sum shop for takeouts for many months now. It's mostly a dim sum shop for takeouts. The dim sum is great, the price is even greater! You can also buy in bulk (frozen) and bring it home. The owner is friendly, and this is clearly a mom and pop local business that we need to support.

      2 check-ins

This is a to-go dim sum place, don't expect too much, the good thing is there is no line. If you are craving dim sum but don't have the time to wait for a table, this probably is a good alternative. Nothing is quite up to the Hong Kong standard. There are a few tables for dine in. They also offer porridge and soup noodle. Choices are plenty.

DT Dim Sum & Tea was my family's go to dim sum spot for many many years when we lived in San Leandro. I don't live that far away now, so I'll still frequent it from time to time.

Recently, I've seen that they're always busy - everyone loves them! When you enter the store, they have two lines: one for in store orders and the other for phone/online orders. I typically order online ahead of time to cut down wait time. Most recently when I ordered online, it took about 20 minutes which was the perfect amount of time for me to drive over there and wait for maybe 5 min max.

This time I got a shrimp dumpling/har gow. Really good but definitely best when fresh. The wrapper gets crumbly when it cools down for too long. Their fried shrimp balls are HUGE. We got 3 orders but we could've just gotten 1 or 2 and been full. I uploaded pictures but I'm not sure if they do the size justice.

They've also got a lot of drinks on their menu which I'm looking forward to trying next time!

I am still getting my Dimsum here years later and they're still really good!! They take call in orders as well if you are in a hurry. I always order the usual shu mai, shrimp dumpling, & shrimp rice roll! Service is always great as well. 10/10 recommend!

Solid and reasonably priced dim sum. This is definitely a go to dim sum restaurant for us when we are in the area. During the covid shelter in place era, we picked up take out from here many times. They pivoted from a small dine in/take out to a small window at the entry of the restaurant. It was an efficient operation.

The main "dining" area is open again and customers can pick up, which seems to be their bread and butter. Dining there isn't much of an option as there are only a couple small tables to accommodate.

      Always reliable, reasonable, and good!

DT Dim Sum is in the Windsor Square plaza next-door to Foodnet. This plaza gets pretty busy and parking is usually full and hectic, especially on weekends. They had changed ownership in the last few years and the quality of the food and service has gone down, while the food prices has gone up.

I usually get their milk tea with boba or jasmine milk tea with boba. The milk tea has tasted off the last few times I had ordered it - it tasted either overly sweetened, very strong, or very watered down and it has not been consistent each time. They had gotten rid of their jasmine milk tea, so that was a bummer.

I had tried a variety of their dim sum - my usual favorites are the beef rice roll, pork & preserved egg porridge, rice cake, or sticky rice in lotus leaf. The other day, I tried their deep fried meat dumpling and it was so greasy and oily that it made me feel sick afterwards, and I also had their sticky rice in lotus leaf as well and the egg yolk inside tasted off and sour, which made me have food poisoning later that day as well. I had been coming here regularly for at least 15 years, but I am not sure if I would be back after that last incident though.

I went to DT Dim Sum to buy 6 frozen sticky rice. I paid with my credit card.
On my way to get my car, I felt someone followed me so closed and had body contact with me. I have shocked and thought someone want to rob my handbag. I almost sprained my ankle. It ends up the person telling me that they were under charge me. I told the person that I don't know the unit price and paid whatever you asked for. I am happy to pay them whatever they want. However, I am not appreciated the way they told me in public that I owe them money and had body contact with me. It is unprofessional.
When I go online today and look at the menu, I realized DT SIM SUM and Tea over charged me after I paid them the differences.

I just want to warn everyone just double check the amount before you pay.
