Daland Body Shop

Hands down, this is the BEST body shop on the Peninsula, I would even venture to say its the BEST body shop in the whole Bay Area. If you want out of this world service and top-notch work, this is the place to go.

Last month, my car was rear-ended, so I called my insurance company, they gave me a few options so initially, I picked a body shop close to my work, but one of my coworkers highly recommended Daland Body Shop, as they did a fantastic job on her vehicle. I took my co-workers advice and called Daland auto body when I initially called I spoke with the owner, Rich Pera, he walked me through the whole process from start to finish. All I had to do was provide my claim number and send him a few pictures of the damage, that's it. Talk about an easy, pain-free process.

Once I decided to take my car in for repairs I figured it would take at least a week, boy was I wrong. If you want quick, high-quality work, this is the business. Daland Body Shop completed my repairs in three days, and my car looked brand new. They flawlessly repaired all the damage from my accident. They even went above, and beyond my wildest expectations by giving my car a spa-like treatment, it was fully detailed and waxed. They even removed a few scratches I had on my rear quarter panel. It's little things like that, that separate Daland from its competitors. I'm glad I listened to my co-workers and took my car to Daland Body Shop. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

My dad brought my car here for me, and they changed my headlight (which had been out for almost a year) and then detailed my whole car so fast! I was expecting it to take a while (ford explorers need the whole front bumper to come off in order to change the headlight) but I was so surprised how quick everything got done! Thank you Daland!!

So I found myself at this shop because of an unfortunate car accident where I got t-boned. Someone recommended me to this body shop because of the reviews and they work with my insurance company.

I made an appointment through my insurance and got a text from Daland Body Shop, informing me that I can come in anytime with my car within business hours and I didn't have to come at the designated appointment time.

Moises helped me with the estimate and answered all the questions I had, since I'm not well versed in these things. He was honestly more responsive than my claims adjuster, which was so helpful during a time that's stressful.

Natasha answers a lot of questions you have via text. She's super responsive and I felt rest assured when working with them. What happens to my car? What about rental cars? How does insurance cover it? She had all the answers and I felt really assured because he was so genuine. It made the whole process much less overwhelming.

They even have a thing with Enterprise over in San Bruno where they'll pick you up from the auto body shop and bring you over to Enterprise to get your car. And dropping the car off was just as easy! The whole process was a breeze.

I let them know what I had a timeline that I hoped to meet and they were able to get my car before then. I didn't have a chance to look over the repairs, since I was going on vacation, but let me tell you, the car was SPOTLESS. I don't think I've seen my car this clean since I got it and I felt bad because I totally dumped a house plant in the back seat before I gave it to them, leaving dirt everywhere.

A few days after driving it, I noticed some minor issues and texted Natasha. She was so on it and they guarantee their work, so I brought my car back without hassle. It didn't take them long to resolve the issue, so I just walked over to Safeway to grab groceries while my car was worked on.

Seriously, overall, I'm really happy with all my service that I received here. If I have any other issues in the future, this would be the spot. If you're thinking about whether or not to drop your car off here, stop. Just use this shop. Their staff is wonderful!

I stopped by Daland the other day and I had my license plates installed because I couldn't make a decision where to put them. Sounds easy but it aint! I dropped it off in the AM and it was ready by Lunch. Working with Daland, for this quick fix, I sensed honesty, promptness, engagement, investment; including great feedback.....install was "on the house!"

The Daland Body Shop was supposed to repair
my bumper and replace my windshield.

After a few weeks, the paint started peeling off the bumper. There was no denying this poor workmanship and product, so I brought my car in a second time, and they redid the bumper. This time, they broke clips that hold the bumper in place on one side, which I noticed later, and I had to take my car in a third time.

Also, when I finally got around to cleaning the new windshield, they left dirty. I noticed a fine scratch about 2 to 3 inches long on the windshield. They sent a low quality picture of the entire windshield, which was taken while standing in front of the car to the insurance company, stating that the scratch wasn't there when the car left the shop. It was absolutely impossible to see the scratch in that photo. I didn't even notice the scratch myself until I was close up cleaning the windshield. They refused to replace the windshield and had the nerve to tell me I probably scratched it with my ring when I was cleaning it, which I absolutely did not do. The integrity, quality, and workmanship of this shop have proven to me to be very poor, and I will be choosing another shop for any future needs.

Less of a problem was the fact that the car was not finished in the amount of time they had promised and when they informed me on the phone that they believe my car had been worked on prior to coming there because they saw glue somewhere inside the trunk. I have no idea what this has to do with anything nor why they told me months after working on my car.

I was very unhappy with my experience here and would give zero stars if I could. I picked up my vehicle after the bumper was replaced due to a hit and run. I brought my vehicle home and noticed the bumper had several scratches on it. I did not notice these scratches when I picked up the car because I didn't inspect the car at the shop. I deeply regret not slowing down the check out process at Daland. The location and layout of the shop is very problematic. Their storefront doesn't have enough space for more than one or two cars to park. Due to this poor design layout, the Daland employee pulled my car up for me to pick it up, but parked it in front of their driveway (blocking their driveway) on busy El Camino Real. As a result, it was not conducive for me to closely examine my vehicle. I learned from this horrible experience that I should have had them slow down the process and park my car safely, speak to the auto body technician, and take photos.

Further, I never met an actual auto body mechanic during my experience. In hindsight, I would go to a store that took more time to show me their finished product and walk me through everything they did. The only employee I interacted with was the receptionist when she took my credit card to pay and then handed me a folder of the charges with the receipt. I wish I had slowed them down and asked for someone to move the car to a safer location and to walk me through their work. This would have prevented weeks of dealing with insurance and Daland.

Finally, I was pulling out, I found a burned cigarette in my cupholder. I stupidly didn't want to get any of their employees in trouble so I threw it out the window. I was disgusted, but I thought it would get someone fired and I didn't want that on my conscience. When I spoke to Daland about the scratches, I brought this up. I was told by their manager that not one of their employees smokes so it could not have been from them. Her comment made me uncomfortable and that is the moment I realized I was not going to get anywhere with Daland. I learned my lesson and won't be a returning customer.

This is a topnotch customer service experience that I am sharing and a bit a few weeks late but absolutely a great experience for us

Our car was front ended by a van - it reversed into the car at a stop light. We brought to Daland for repair. After verifying the insurance information, our insurance company sent it to Daland for estimate, the insurance company approved the assessment and we brought it for repair

The coverage included the car rental while the car was being repaired. After a few days they called to inform us that it was ready for pickup

When we came to pick it up, it was spotless. The front end was meticulously brought back to its original state, even better than before the accident
But not only that, the entire vehicle was thoroughly polished and cleaned, the interior was detailed and the wheels were spotlessly cleaned. All the grime from the brake dust was removed and the mag wheels were shiningly clean like was new

They also took care of the rental car and told us we could leave it at the body shop and the team would take care of the return to the rental agency

The wonderful and always positive interaction with the wonderful Daland team of Natasha, Moise and Chris made this an excitingly positive experience.

This is not only excellent customer service with a smile, THIS is customer service that will MAKE you smile

My Car Insurance Company recommended this place after I got in a car accident that wrecked my left front end.
They seemed nice and said we'll take care of your car we do thorough inspection and light inspection as well. My car was ready in a few weeks or less which was great.
When I turned on my head lights the left side that was fixed, the light was facing the sky and couldn't see well in the dark.
I took it back and they said no problem we will fix it for you. May I remind you they said they do "thorough inspection and light inspection", which obviously they didn't do.
Then about a year or so goes by and my one of my lights isn't working, which happens to be the left side they fixed. None of my other lights have had issues like this before.
I take it to my mechanic and they said the light housing isn't hooked on right and suggested I go back and Daland since they offer a lifetime warranty.

When I go back the guy seemed really in denial that Daland did that. Anyways the guy shows me that my wiring was off on that same side that Daland fixed, and proceeded to blame it on my mechanic that I've been to for over 10 years.
He seemed a bit bothered about the situation, and said let's look and if it's something we can fix I'll do it.

He came back and said it will be about 20mins to fix it. He said they have to pull the bumper and left side fender off so they can get to the light and fix the problem.

However when I'm driving home I hear some kind of lose wiggling noise that is getting louder as I accelerate so Mabey I thought that Daland Mabey left something lose when fixing the light problem because the noise is coming from that same left side that they had to pull the bumper and fender out that Daland and Daland has supposedly "fixed".

I called the next morning the lady answered the phone and sounded really nice and understanding and actually mentioned that sometimes things can be missed and screws sometimes are not tightened up when they have to pull the bumper and fender. Sometimes they miss things? How is that profesional work? Thorough inspection is their thing right???

I went it later after work saw the same guy again and when he saw me he had this look on his face looking bothered again. I explained it to him what is going on with some noise after I they touched my car to fix that same left side yet again.

He suggested we take a drive to listen and kept saying that it's not Daland that did anything to make that noise however my car was not making any noise before I gave them my car to fix that left side light, now there's noise from my that same left side.

He then says that is my suspension making noise! And my suspension in that same left side isn't good and making noise! The guy didn't even want to look to see if it was the parts they worked on. And kept saying it's my suspension.

So I came in to fix a light problem that supposedly fixed and inspected the very 1st time I brought it in and left with a suspension problem that same left side. The guy even offered me a quote to fix it? What a joke. Seems very weird that I came in for a light and came out with a bigger suspension problem.

I'm very unsatisfied and felt uncomfortable during this process as I was given attitude and finger pointing to my mechanic making it seem like it was our fault. Now I have to figure this problem Daland left me with and have to pay out of pocket for something they are at fault at.

If there was an option for 0 stars I'd do it.

Of course the business owner is in denial as well. All I know is that my car was just fine until I brought it in. You offer a warranty correct? That wiring was done by your company. And that noise that all the sudden came after you took my car to fix it. Of course you would say it has nothing to do with your company. Workers are just like the owner. In denial. Take off your warranty statement that's on your website. Pointless.

I have been going to Daland Body Shop for 25 years. Everything they do comes out right the first time. If you knew me and how particular I am with all my vehicles, you should trust me when I say this is the best body shop around. I have had dent repairs, paint jobs and major body repairs done here and everything was done right and fast. Besides the great work they do, the other reason I have been coming here for so long is how great I am treated. They explain everything clearly and stay in contact with me through the whole process. Don't think twice if you need anything big or small done to your vehicle.

Daland's body shop was SUCH a huge help in getting my car back on the road after a very unfortunate event that involved my vehicle. The team had great communication, time management & explanation on the process for my vehicles repairs, considering the fact that an incident like this was all new to me & I had to go through my insurance. I had no regrets in choosing my vehicle to be in their care. I thank the team here that took care of my vehicle & got me back on the road quickly with no issues after!
