He did a good installing my fan and showing me to use it. Will hire again when I need a handy man.

Dave is awesome man! He knows what his doing. He found the electrical issues in master bathroom. Quick reply too....I will recommend him!

I recently hired Dave the Handyman to install a large, exterior Coolaroo roller shade for a window since my back room gets very hot in the summer.

Communication was done via Yelp message with type of project, sending a pic of the item and then pricing provided. I didn't check with other like businesses as I felt the price was in the range and wanted to have it installed sooner as it's been hot!

We did have a miscommunication on the initial date but set up a date/time the next week. He was professional and arrived on time, which I appreciate. The shade was quickly installed with him checking with me on the location, how far out etc. and done in an hour.

I would definitely not hesitate to call/Yelp message him again for other projects.

I am so happy and please with the job Dave completed yesterday, in installing a new toilet and flooring in my Master bathroom water closet. He was on time, very efficient and as you can see below, a "master" in his craft. I look forward to having him back in the new year to give me an estimate on a complete remodeling of the rest of the bathroom, and have no doubts we will be equally happy with his work when that job is done. Dave's GOOD guy, too...very easy to work and communicate with...please call him if you have work needed in the area that he covers...you won't regret it...!!! PS: while here, he also took some time to give some "TLC attention" to a kitchen faucet that was loose and needed tightening...THANKS for that, too, Dave...!!!

Dave literally sent me a message on YELP after I wrote the review and wrote: "No one cares about your stupid DIY projects."

How unprofessional.

Dave is the MAN, I called him about replacing a really old front door knob to a new security code handle. He answered, asked if I could
Text over some pictures of the door. After doing so he sent me a really reasonable quote, and days he is available. With in a day my door knob is updated and works amazing! He had to fix a few things to make sure it shut and locked smoothly. I'm so happy with it, he was super professional, made sure I was ok with everything before he left and ask if I had any more questions or concerns. I WILL BE CALLING DAVE AGAIN!

Had to patch a hole behind the dishwasher.
Everyone else I called was shunned because they didn't want to touch the dishwasher.

David came to the rescue. Handled it fine and efficiently. Even improved the dishwasher situation due to the uneven floors. I know many handymen don't want to go anywhere near plumbing or appliances, but David was knowledgeable, confident, and able to deliver.

Summary: NOT RECOMMENDED. Has a work truck with a lot of power tools, but doesn't have more than amateur amount experience. Blocked driveway with work truck twice, blocked garage door with materials, I opened, and almost destroyed the garage door.

Agreed to build a weatherproofed door. Charged $400 labor, materials cost went way over budget, did not verify receipt, did not finish job as agreed after payment was given. When asked to finish job, he said I was asking for free work, a "cheap f**k", and I should pay him $400 more to complete the job. He said I did not pay him the agreed amount, so he will not complete the work.

I hired Dave Gallegos to make a new door for the appliance area in the backyard in December 2023. It needed to be a wooden door that is weatherproofed. I made sure he knew that it needed to be weatherproof in multiple texts and after he inspected the job site.

He quoted me $400 for labor and additional materials charge. I agreed to pay the discussed amount. He did not agree to any negotiation on the labor charge.

He came on the agreed day to do the job. He confirmed that the labor price will be $400 before he started the job. I made sure he knew the door needed to be weatherproofed and insulated after he inspected the site. He initially said materials would be $200-250, but then said materials price came out to ~$375. Not much I could do when he was already out the door at HD. He did not get the insulation foam that was discussed.

He came back, didn't provide receipt of materials, and went to work. I made sure to remind him that the door needed to be weatherproofed. He finished the work.

When I went to inspect his final work: he had made a new frame for the door. Perfect. The door was not aligned with the frame he had made. It was slanting on one corner. He blamed it on the door and the frame. I paid him the agreed fees because I did not want to argue with a "professional handyman."

After reviewing the project the next day, he had forgotten to put a weather strip on the 4th side of the door and forgotten the insulation. The door is facing full sun and wind. I requested that he come back to finish the project. He said that I should trust him and the door doesn't need a 4th side weatherstrip because it is already weatherproofed. I insisted that he come and finish the project as discussed. He told me I didn't pay a lot and that I should pay him $400 more because he has to come back to the job site. He called me a "cheap f**k" on text because I only agreed to pay his $400 labor charge and out of budget, unverified materials cost. He did not show me receipt with total materials cost.

He insisted that he went above and beyond with his labor, the door didn't need a 4th weatherstrip because it doesn't rain in the Bay Area, it doesn't need insulation, it is a perfect job, and if I wanted more modifications, I should have let him know before he started the job and should have paid him more than what we agreed upon.

After that, it was not worth the time and effort to question his work. I had to hire another handyman to finish the job as I had intended.

NOT RECOMMENDED. Unprofessional in every manner and amateur handyman skills.

P.S. - He also blocked my driveway twice with his truck when there was plenty of curbside parking.

We found Dave on Yelp after having many experiences with other handymen. Dave work was very detailed and he even pointed out that the caulking in the tub needed to be removed and caulked with the correct silicone caulking. His price was very reasonable and the quality of workmanship is well worth the cost.
