One word of advice - do not go into a pub on St. Patty's day if you don't plan on getting wasted. Of course my friends and I, with clear intentions of remaining sober, decided to have brunch at Death and Taxes on St Patty's day and it was hilarious, loud and very fun. It was party, complete with ridiculous soundtrack. Irish music mixed with 90s throwbacks.

I have been once before, also a Sunday afternoon, but it was very quiet!

The food is surprisingly good. Reasonably priced.

The basement bathrooms (single person / gender neutral) feature a piano. I mean, why not?

Servers were very full of character, patient, and did their best!

Vibe is very casual, perfect for a relaxed Sunday afternoon.

      Updated review

We were looking for a joint in the city that offered cask ales, and Death & Taxes supposedly had some on offer, so we showed up on a recent Saturday ready and willing to drink.

They didn't have any cask ales on hand that day, but we figured we were there anyway, we might as well grab some food.

We wound up sharing a couple of their brunch entrees. Their brunch menu is infuriatingly not online but we shared the breakfast burrito and the D&T BLT.

The food arrived pretty quickly and I decided to start with the BLT. It's really, really good. It's far more flavorful than I was expecting, with this due mostly to the inclusion of a curry mayo, and the other components fared just as well. The whole thing was crisped up on the grill, and I honestly wished I had ordered a whole sandwich for myself.

The burrito was good but a far cry from that 'wich. It also had some unexpected flavors and the various components worked well, but overall I just wasn't as blown away by it. The included home fries had been cooked in some kind of a sauce or something, and like everything else, I enjoyed the heck out of them.

The joint even had some drinks specials I was able to take advantage of. It's just too bad about that cask ale.

      Breakfast Burrito.

The end of the day of shopping on Queen Street and came here for a little adult hydration. Happy Hour available and some great options like the Espresso Martini's. In fact, we thought that was the highlight at the bar. A popular local spot for sure and rustic. Next time we are planning to water at the Drake Hotel Bar and contrast the two, so stay tuned !

Came here with a larger group and D&T was so accommodating! The service here was excellent and super friendly. Everyone really enjoyed their food and drinks (especially the espresso martini with cinnamon). After 9:30pm, they had a DJ who was playing some banger tunes. Overall a great spot I'd love to come back to!

Their funghi pizza is great for those of you who like a nice, crispy crust and lots of cheese and different kinds of mushrooms! I would definitely eat that again.

Also their fries taste like McDonald's dupes, so if you're a picky eater, you'll probably like these!

The only thing is that they had a weird payment system where you could pay your bill through your phone without notifying the staff; I feel like if I were a server, this would stress me out every time I saw a table leave!

Cool vibes. Summer patio and inside resto-bar setting. The app I had was a deep friend cauliflower and plating real estate made it a bit difficult not to make a mess but super enjoyable. Not a bad place, music on the inside was a bit deafening but if you scream loud enough, you can hear your own thoughts. Dj on a Thursday night was good - service was pretty good as well.

Came here on a Monday night for their Bourbon and Bingo night with a friend. It wasn't busy, but we had a great time. Each time you win at Bingo, the whole table gets a shot. Considering that it wasn't busy, we won eight shots between the two of us. For a fun Monday night, you might feel slightly wrecked on Tuesday morning.

For the first half of our visit this was the worst service I've experienced. The hostess was very rude, non-attentive and seemed to have a personal vendetta.

She brought the incorrect drink, did not bring water, and did not punch in my order.

The other server was very helpful, but the hostess really left me a bad memory of this establishment.

      What a shame .

I had just about the best spicy fried chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life, and I ain't even into spicy like that. But, for godsakes - can we come up with something else to accompany a sandwich other than fries? Come through GenZ!

The menu is tiny but the food is good. The chicken bites are really good. If you're scared of fancy salads, don't be. The salads here are actually really good. They have a variety of cocktails and the service is great.
