Not sure if they read my review or if it was coincidence, but they've lowered their daily rate to $8/day again.
So I'm back to parking underground.
They still have the rooftop special at $6/day as far as I know.

I hate taking away a star from them because their lot is great, but prices have gone up again and it's time to write about it.
The normal rate is now $9/day (no more earlybird discount) with a $6/day option for parking on the roof (with no in/out privileges). There's also motorcycle parking for $4 or $5/day.
Monthly rate is $130 (or 135?) for rooftop only, $145 for regular parking, $160 for reserved.
I was ok when they dropped the early bird price, but now that it's $9, I've opted for the rooftop only.
I'm hoping that they'll realize they've lost customers (the non-roof parking is half empty these days - it used to be so packed that sometimes only the rooftop had spaces left) and bring the price back down. We'll see.
I will add that they added a lot of lighting so it's not as dark as it was before.

Diamond Parking strives to offer the lowest cost possible for garage parking in Oakland. Unfortunately we had to increase our daily parking prices in May to $9.00 to offset higher operating costs. $9.00 per day is the lowest price for attended garage parking in the Oakland area! We did keep our monthly rates at $125 for rooftop, $145 for regular and $160 for reserved. We do close the garage promptly at 7PM and must do so in order keep payroll costs down and be able to offer the lowest parking prices possible. We realize that our customers have many choices for parking in the Oakland area and we thank you for choosing Diamond Parking Services for your parking needs.

Hmm... I am getting a bit tired of them changing the prices.
As of this week (5/7/2012), prices are back up to $9 for regular and $7 for rooftop parking. I believe the monthly rates are still the same.
For a month before that it was $8.50 for regular parking. :\
They also used to wait at least 10-15 minutes after 7pm in case we were running late to get our cars, but nowadays, at least one of the guys seems to be watching the clock and ready to jet at 7:00pm. The staff is very friendly and they extended their early bird rate until 10am, which was great for me as I can never seem to get in before 9am.
There is always someone at the gate and they have surveillance so I am happy to leave my car there without worry.
$7 early bird, $8 normal rate. $135/monthly as of today.
Garage opens at 6am and closes at 7pm. If you park outside, you can stay past 7pm. 
Rodger R.San Francisco, CA91425Jul 24, 2011OK....I have to admit writing a review for a parking lot seems odd, but these folks deserve it! I recently got my car locked in it for the weekend - my fault as I arrived 15 minutes after closing. I also had to fly out of the area that evening, so with the help of friends and family - they agreed to bail my car out on Monday. I called the lot on Monday morning to alert them to the mishap - the manager was nice as nice can be. I was dreading a huge bill and all he said was; "don't worry about it, being without a car for a weekend must have been bad enough..."

C L.Vancouver, Canada02Jul 25, 2016The company ticket you for uploading at 15 min loading zone when it does not specifically say commercial loading. The guy sneaked in and ticketed anyone who parks there to unload or load. He obviously saw me left he car cause the time of ticket is when I parked. I emailed the company and all they said was please pay! Bad staff hired and bad customer service! Dont use them for managing your parking lot.

DON'T COME HERE. It's robbing you off. The staff told you that it's ok to park late and when you do that, they charge you $40. I call it not honest business. Again, DON'T COME.
