We were looking for a good dim sum place in the outer sunset on a Sunday afternoon.
Came across this place, around 1pm.
Place was packed!
Luckily, a table just been cleared.
Started with jasmine and chrysanthemum tea, very traditional when having dim sum.
Don't forget to ask about the Chinese hot mustard and home made chilies. Goes very well with your dim sum.
Ordered steamed pork spare ribs with black beans and jalapeños, steamed rice noodles with cilantro,
Scallion pancake, shrimp chives and spinach wrap dumplings, pork sui mai, and chicken feet.
Chinese fried donut wrapped in rice noodles were amazing!
I really liked the shrimp chives dumplings, pork sui mai, and cilantro steamed rice noodles, they are outstanding!
Pork sui mai was soft and juicy!
The shrimp dumplings were perfectly steamed! Juicy and succulent and well seasoned!
All those other dishes were delicious also.
They didn't neglect on the service either.
Our hot tea got refilled, ice water, and napkins.
I've been to many places for dim sum, this place is pretty good.
I would definitely come back for more dim sum and recommend this to a friend.
5 stars for you guys!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - S F.Campbell, CA127841110Jul 13, 2024
The dim sum menu is typical. We ordered 7 items and they were solid.
The shrimp and pea sprouts dumplings were unusual and most memorable item today. I like them better than shrimp and chives. The pea sprouts don't over power the shrimp like chives do.
The spicy wontons were generous and had a little mala flavor.
The chinese broccoli was boiled a little too long so they were too soft.
The shrimp rice rolls could use a 3rd shrimp in each roll.
The tofu skin rolls had a nice shrimp and veggie filling.
The service was fairly fast and efficient. I'd visit again if in the neighborhood.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 1, 2024Updated reviewSeated via Yelp Reservations
Came back to Dim Sum Club, was expecting the food to be decent but after this place took a break, I think there was ownership change as some people who used to work here left and there was a bit of a remodel.
Food no longer is any good
Ordered a lot for a party of 7 adults so we were able to try a lot
Dimsum was very mediocre, there are some which blatantly look like they came out of a box, (steamed pork bun, shrimp dumpling, rice sheet noodle wrapped in fried donut, glutinous rice with chicken in lotus leaf) all had very 'mass production' taste to them and not hand prepared in the kitchen other than pulling the dimsum out of the plastic wrapper and steaming in a steamer.
We also ordered preserved egg and pork congee, stir fried beef noodle, pea shoots in broth.
The dry fried beef wide noodle didn't have any wok hei at all, so it came out wet and noodles stuck together, beef was also marinated for too long in baking soda which softened it immensely no longer providing any texture.
Unfortunately not coming back here until they improveHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 25, 2022Previous reviewGood value for money breakfast, brunch, lunch. Haven't been for dinner yet.
Service is spotty as was difficult to get the attention of some of the servers.
Ordering menu gets a bit confusing as the number line doesn't exactly match up with the item, I'd suggest to circle the whole damn name, as we wanted to order the original har gow shrimp dumpling, instead they gave us the black truffle shrimp dumpling
They've got some pretty interesting items on their special whiteboard which you usually won't see in most restaurants such as pork kidney and pork stomach items, have tried both and can say its quite kind and would be perfect with a cold beer
Dimsum wize, pretty good, items come out fast, fried items are hot and crispy.
The only item which was a bit depressing was the rice roll with fried Chinese donut. The fried Chinese donut for some reason came out super soggy. Prefer if they didn't pour the soy sauce all over the dish and let us do it ourselves. - Aug 2, 20241 check-in
My family ordered take out from here and I loved it, so I decided to try it at the actual restaurant. The food is delicious and quite authentic. I would say they have a smaller dim sum selection compared to other restaurants. I loved the phoenix bun and the porridge. Inside isn't the most beautiful or glamorous, but it's pretty clean. The food came out pretty quickly and the staff are sweet. I will be back!

The more time I spend in the Outer Sunset the more I love it. I dropped my laundry at Wen's then stopped by Oh oh oh Oreilly's Auto parts and they seemed stoked to help me get all the things I needed for my boat. Now lunch. A quick search in Yelp and the Dim Sum Club popped up.
I was excited by the name alone. I love Dim Sum and I hadn't been in a while. Right on Taraval, the Dim Sum Club is pretty lo-key from the street. I suspected I was about to walk in to a local favorite and I was right. Locals crowded the large tables. The diners were all asian - a great sign - speaking Cantonese and Madarin. The staff were swift and efficient and my waiter was very attentive quickly suggesting three items.
Shanghai Soup Dumpling - These are amazing. The Best dumplings I have ever had hands down. Worth the trip alone.
Shrimp Dumpling- soooo gooey and delicious - fresh
Pan Fried Roasted Pork Cake - crispy chewy and a little sweet.
There is a giant sign outside saying grand opening but it seems to me that THE DIM SUM CLUB is already neighborhood institution and I'm so glad for that.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Ben L.Daly City, CA7164Aug 25, 2024
Food is great and tasty. Comes out hot and fresh. The only issue I have is to train your staff to be more attentive and assist your customers better. Asking for condiments or napkins should not be asked twice or waited for a while to be given those items. Something the owner needs to train their staff better. More stars would be given if service was better!

It crave dim sum at least monthly. Since it had been a while, the hubby and I decided to order from Dim Sum Club. Not many places have tripe these days, so I'm glad they still offer this dish. Plus, prices are reasonable compared to most dim sum spots in SF.
Everything fulfilled my craving. The sui mai was meaty. The ha gow shrimp were plump. The bean curd roll had good flavor. Funny enough, the tripe was the most lacking in taste. Very bland. But I have a million different sauces at home, so nothing a little soy, chili oil, etc, couldn't fix. It is a nice portion tho.
I did not take pix from this last order, but I've been eating from here for the last few years. So posting pix of all dishes we got a few years ago. Everything more or less still looks the same.

Solid spot for dim sum.Helpful 7Thanks 4Love this 4Oh no 2 - Mar 5, 2024
Amazing prices for the dim sum here, very affordable and good portion sizes. We got almost 10 dishes if not more and it was almost $100 including tips and taxes. This would've been easily more than that at a different restaurant.
Some dishes were a lot bigger than we thought which was a good plus. Some if my favorites were the chicken feet, shrimp rolls and the spare ribs rice rolls. Was not a huge fan of the tripe as I thought it was a little bland. Overall, really liked the food, bit felt a bit neglected, it took a while to pay or to get someone to notice us.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 2 - Jun 2, 2024
We ate here tonight on vacation and walked from our VRBO! It was a pleasant walk and our server was so nice. He came back around to check on us frequently and was sweet to ask my daughter how she was liking the pig ears she wanted to try. Those weren't my favorite texture wise but the seasoning was actually really good. I was expecting them to be warm but it is a cold dish. My girlfriend and my daughter each got an order of the walnut shrimp and I shared a few bites and it was delicious!! We also loved the BBQ pork dumplings, shrimp spring rolls and duck dumplings which were probably my favorite. We got the sesame rolls for dessert and they tasted like warm mochi coated with crushed peanuts and the filling tasted like Oreos! I literally wish I could've eaten a whole order myself. LOL

This place is one of those no-hype, no-frills spot adored by locals.
No dim sum carts. The menu is extensive and the dishes are all delicious.
Favorite:
Stuffed eggplant
Crispy shrimp roll- addictive
Crispy calamari
Don't expect much from service side. You often have to ask multiple times for someone to bring more tea or vinegar.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 2
